Jin-Soo gazed quietly at the peaceful scene around him, a light smile decorating his features as his ears pointed up curiously. He was new to these lands and, although he had heard many tales of it, ranging from the two-winged masters of the sky to the demons who wore the pelt of another and became a different animal entirely, he found himself liking the place. There was grass around him and the sun was warm on his back. The song of birds and insects alike played in his ears and the wind danced across his mane and tail, causing the blades beneath his hooves to whirl and brush against his legs. If the world could stay this way forever, why, he wouldn’t mind in the least. But he knew it wouldn’t last, and for a moment, his face darkened with haunting memories flickering across his mind. He shook his head and, with it, the thoughts. Now was not the time to think such things he told himself, and, putting a smile back on his face, he leaned down and began to graze.

He was a draft soquili, larger than most others and, as such, required much more food to sustain him. He tried not to stick to a single patch for too long – he had to leave some to grow back and feed others and future generations, after all – but instead moved constantly, happy with the land he had found. At one moment, he raised his head and spotted a herd not far off, grouped near a lake and seemingly at peace. It calmed and pleased him, to know that even here, in this strange and foreign land, something familiar remained. He was suddenly filled with a desire to trumpet a greeting but, at the last moment, kept it in check. This place was still much too alien to him and, being a natural prey, he wasn’t the sort to begin exploring by drawing lots of attention to himself. Still, the herd’s presence didn’t lose its soothing affect on him, and he continued to graze contentedly.

Thalatte had grown into a beautiful female adult now. She was happy and friendly with everyone. She loved her adopted parents, Aether and Sgina. Her herd was quite friendly and she had learned from them all on how to be a nice member in the herd. She was looking forward to being here for a long time.

When she had been smaller she had been a little shy about her feet, but she accepted them now. She loved them and her saddle. She loved her jewels and her helmet so much! She would often be seen prancing through the grass, much like she was doing today. She might not talk alot but she was active.

Thal pranced even when she walked cause of how she had to walk with her claws. They didn't let her feet move the way a normal hooves allowed on to move their front feet so she had to lift them a bit higher and they always said she looked like she was prancing. She enjoyed it though and her feet were great to help defend the herd when or if they were in danger.

Today while prancing happily through the grass she saw a stallion in the distance that she didn't know. That wasn't herd. She froze and fluffed as she watched him. Who was he? Why was he here? Was he a danger to the herd? She walked over slowly, knowing that if he attacked she had the advantage with her claws. She got close enough to talk to him and stood tall and proud. "What do you want with us? And if you want nothing then why are you here?" she said softly as she watched him with her glowing blue eyes.

Jin-Soo soon heard the sound of approaching hoof-steps. They seemed offly imbalanced, for the sound of the fore-hooves were lighter than those of the hind ones and a cloud of worry began to grow in his imaginative mind. Before it could grow too out of hand, however, he looked up and could see a pink soquili nearing him. She wore what appeared to be tack made for war, with braces on her legs and a helmet atop her head. Long feathers protruded from her mane and the base of her tail and, curiously, her eyes seemed to glow a bright, cyan blue…

Still, his attention was drawn once more to the continuous, yet uneven sound of her steps, and his eyes widened when he saw her three large, and very dangerous-looking claws in place of hooves. If left to his own devices, he might have stared at them for quite some time, but a sharp, commanding, yet surprisingly soft voice rang in his ears, and he looked up towards the mare, for the tone in her voice allowed for no wasting of time. Clearing his throat nervously, and briefly thinking that, perhaps all the stories he had heard were not as far-fetched as he had thought, he spoke.

I come only to graze,” he said simply, betraying no emotion. “I have no business with any of the herd, but if my presence is a nuisance, I can take my leave.” This offer was said with no spite for, indeed, he felt none. If he really was bothering them then, regardless of how fond he had become of the area, he would do as he said and depart, for it was not his wish to bother another, much less a herd.
