Hey.. I'm still have not been accepted to the guild, but hi anyway.. . w. In the past month I haven't been taking my medication [prozac] I just.. I don't feel comfortable with having to take medication to make me happy... it just doesn't feel like myself or real happyness.. almost simulated happyness.. even since I stoped my anxiety has been through the roof and last night the thread I was hanging by snapped.. I haven't self harmed in months.. and last night when I was in the shower I cut myself 16 time on my arm. I also had 9 smaller cuts on my wrist and 25 on my leg. .-.They were all about 4 inches long.. not too deep, but enough to bleed... My mom found out.. and I really.. really didn't want her to know... I knew how much it would hurt her... she made me see my doctor and he wants me to keep taking my medication.. but I still feel a little iffy... but maybe I should take it.. I don't know.
Edit: Btw my name is Chelsea and I am 16 years old.

The medication isn't there for no reason. Maybe it's simulated happiness to you, but really, which would you rather have? The medication is actually there enough for you to cope and then there's the therapy. You see the medication makes your mind clearer, so you can think straighter during therapy and coping with your problems. All it is is a stepping stone. I was told there were 3 parts to mental health. Medication(the smallest), Therapy (right there in the middle), and then the actions you yourself take to help you. Besides, they only dope you up if your case is severe and that's for people who are in the hospital and having bigger problems then I imagine you have.

I agree. Medication will still help you regardless even if you don't want to take it, think it's a conspiracy, or are just on strike against the surgeon general. Just like if you accidentally smashed your foot in a garage door, Tylenol or the like will get rid of the pain regardless of whether you want to take it or not (my brother and best friend "don't believe" in pain meds, but still!!)
It'll be better for you lovely, as a crutch to self improvement and to keep protecting your loved ones.
