Out of all these years that you have been on gaia, have you ever tried to quit? Like, I'm talking about giving all your stuff away, and all that good junk.
I've only done that once, back in '06. I was gone for almost a year.
I've taken tons of breaks from gaia though haha.
I made sure to keep all of my items though when I decided to take breaks. There isn't anything I regret more about this site than giving all of my items away.

No, actually. I've stopped visiting quite a few times, the longest period being a few years, but it was never intentional. I'd just get distracted, or caught up in work, then run into something one day and be like "Gaia. Huh. I should see what's up there." The biggest shock for me was this last return - what the heck happened to all those prices?! Heh. Seeing things being worth a billion on the marketplace - things that my sister and I had a few of, way back when - was quite the shock.
It must hurt to look at what you gave away, considering how much things are now worth. Did you keep the same account, or did you have to make a new one? smile

I did do a "permanant" leave after I had most of my MC's stolen. I sold off the rest of them, then gave away the gold to a random person I met. I came back a year later and *I hate that I did this* sold evolving items to earn my stuff back... But overall, I tend to have just weekly or monthly absences b/c of work than just quit, though I must say I have done it before.

I "quit" Gaia 2 times, both for about 9 months. At those times I never really had much, so I didn't see the point of ever giving anything away. The first time I came back, I found out my account had been hacked and my best items stolen, anyway. Now there are time periods where I can't get on for a few weeks, even months, but I always know I'll come back. Gaia is too addictive. I think watching the way it changes all the time is the reason I keep coming back.

I did that back in late 2008. I divided up my gold into 4 groups and my items into 4 groups. I made a thread to give it all away and let people pick 1 out of all the 8 groups. The first 8 people to post got whatever they wanted.
I didn't come back because I'm upset or frustrated with my main roleplay site. I came back because I was a little bored and I like the puzzles and word bump.

I quit gaia once which lasted about 15 months. Until I came back two weeks ago.

i actually just started using Gaia again after not using it for close to a year, i think total i have just quit or not had time for an extended period of time like 2-3 times

I left for a year cuz my mom banned me. But I would never give away my items just in case I would like to come back to gaia.

yea i wouldn't give my s**t away unless i had a real close friend on here and i was convinced i was quitting and never using it again...i quit the second time shortly after my gf at the time hacked me i got back on and i was missing a fire gauntlet, my gothic veil, and my vampire hunter hat....needless to say i changed my password, and got bored of Gaia

I've quit gaia twice. Once when I'll my RL friends left, and once when all my online friends left. Some how I keep coming back.....

There are many w o r l d s, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxbut they share the same sky— I quit for about a year...Maybe more? I didn't give anything away though...Kept everything n.n one sky, one d e s t i n y. ♥

their was a point in time where i had stop playing because things in real life kept me busy, but i hadn't necesarily quit. i had just forgotten about this place.
I hadn't been on this site for about 2 years up until about a month ago.
now i'm back on here full force.
