I thought I talk about one of the subordinates of Roy Mustang, knowing how they can be funny.
Havoc actually seems to be more known than the others, except Hawkeye and Hughes. He has spunk really when you think about it. He is a man of his word when it comes to loyalty to his superior officer and he does what he is told. In the manga he is dealt with different situations than in the anime. I think they show a lot more about him in the manga, especially the things that happen to him (won't say cause don't want to risk spoiling)
But regardless of manga or anime, he is known to be a player. He truly wants a girlfriend and tends to do all he can for a girl. Though sadly, most of the women he ends up liking, turn against him and fall in love with Roy once they see his charming looks, making Havoc crush down. Even though it is slightly sad, it actually comedic in the anime. Writing journals with the other subordinates and always getting 'stoned' when something like that happens, especially losing a girlfriend from Roy. He also seems to get along with the other subordintes: Breda, Fuery, and Falman probably more than anyone else in the anime, the manga well you can see a slight friendship bond between Mustang, kind of. With Hawkeye, actually I can see them being long term friends before, beats me why, but its that weird feeling.
Another thing is he's slightly rebellious, especially when it comes to the cancer stick he has in his mouth. I heard that their military is technically not suppose to smoke but he ends up doing so anyways, especially near his comrades, which tends to tick Roy off sometimes. But ironically its Havoc's lighter thats actually help Roy in anime and manga. The manga shows more to Havoc, especially after the incident he encountered, showing that he is indeed a strong, loyal part of Roy Mustang's team.
Jean Havoc may not be so known in the anime, more shown in the manga (but can't say since it hasn't finished), but he does has his importance in the show/manga. The smoker with an ambition to help his superior officer, just like most others who follows him.
