Ryoko stared around the home. "Did you build this?" she asked. She hadn't held onto his arm, on the way there. Although he offered, Ryoko felt so common and unworthy around such a man. "It must be nice to live in the trees. The breezes, the scents. . ." she said a tiny smile appearing for a moment. Her eyes widened when she realized what he had said. "M-My home?" she asked, not sure if she had heard him correctly.

Mirage chuckled, "Yes your home... You said you didn't like being alone and I can't just let you stay in the forest alone and unprotected."

"I-I can protect myself," she said, crossing her arms a bit. She was a small girl but a dog none the less. Although, if she continued to go around and heal people like she had at the waterfall, she probably wouldn't live much longer. "Besides, I've been on my own forever." Though she didn't want to seem weak in front of Mirage, it was nice being with him, it was nice not being alone.

"I believe you but from the looks of it you need to rest and to be sheltered. Even the strong don't survive on their own for very long." He patted her head, "I'll fix you something to eat." He walked into the kitchen and pulled out somethings. "How does pan roasted duck sound?"

Ryoko's eyes widened. She hadn't been able to catch anything for a few days and the money from her last job had run out. "D-Duck?" she asked, trying not to drool. "Roasted duck?" She confirmed, used to eating things raw. If one didn't eat quickly, it was often stolen. Ryoko was too hungry to decline. "I-It sounds wonderful! If that's alright," she added, not wanting to be rude.

Mirage smiled knowong she would love it. "It's is alright with me." He seasoned the duck and cooked it in the pan along with a side of potatoes and side of sweet corn. He placed it on a plate before her with a glass of the best wine.

Ryoko sat, looking at the plate, famished. She clapped her hands together, flat, as if praying. "Thank you for the meal!" she said cheerfully, her sorrow from the waterfall beginning to disappear. Despite her hunger, she waited for Mirage to eat first. The alpha was always supposed to eat first.

Ryoko immediately dug in, finishing the plate within about a minute. She licked her lips satisfied then picked up the glass of wine, stirred it in her had for a moment, and took a sip before drinking the entire thing. She let out a contented sigh. "That was amazing," she said, perfectly happy. Looking up at Mirage, she smiled. "My stomach thanks you."

Mirage smiled an picked up her dishes and washed them, "Of course Little One. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much." He put the dishs on the side of the sink to dry.

Ryoko wondered why he kept calling her 'Little One' but then remembered that he was as old as the world. "Have you enjoyed living?" She asked, curiously. Having such a long life, Ryoko wondered if he actually liked it.

"Some days yes other days no. I have lived too long to care about much in this world anymore. But the few things I do care about surround me like a fence." Mirage looked at the little wolf girl before him. He looked into her young eyes seeing he ture beauty.

Ryoko couldn't help but stare back into his striking red eyes. They were gorgeous, like rubies. Feeling the intensity from his gaze, Ryoko glanced down a bit, then stood. She swayed a bit, the wine getting to her. She had difficulty holding her alcohol and easily got tipsy.
