I went in my LFS to get a little baby Albino Bristlenose Pleco today (they are only like 2 inches long!!!!! X3), but they had ICH, and they thankfully wouldnt sell them (I love that store lol). But untill next week when I can get one, I want to make sure that I have everything right =D I found a nice peice of DW for $5, about 6" tall. My tank is a 20 long, and just under 1/2 stocked according to AqAdvisor with just the fish I have now, and almost stocked with the Pleco in it (but we all know how AqAdvisor is.... lol). I dont mind big water changes, either, and it seems 20 gallons is the minimum for Albinos, so that should be fine. I got some Algea Waffers (already have some, but they are little tiny ones for Corries lol). I also already have a bit of algea in the tank, and I have veggies and what nots for the Ottos in the 5 gallon, and there are lots of places to hide. Should I add an air stone to the tank? I just have an AquaClear 30 on there.
So is that everything?
(P.S. Any tips and hints are much loved 3nodding )

You're pretty much all set. WHY AREN'T YOU WAITING TIL I MOVE TO FLORIDA SO I CAN SELL YOU MY BABIESSSS. Jk.
The only thing I would say is to make sure you have a few caves in there so it has a choice of hiding spots. Feed them more veggies than algae wafers (especially if you have live plants), they need to have a higher amount of plant matter than protein and algae wafers do contain fish. At first you probably won't see it a lot, but usually once they get used to the tank they will come out more during the day. So far IME, the albinos are a bit more skittish than the normal colored ones, but that could also be because my albino is female.
You don't need to add an airstone, but it won't hurt if you do.
Can't wait to see pics!

I'm going to put a clay pot in there, along with the plants and the log, and the driftwood I just got.
I also have tan gravel, so that might help him/her feell more secure =3
Oh and the Algae Waffers I bought, I got ones with a Pleco on it, rather then the kinds that have Corries or Loaches, and stuff like that. I read the bock of the package, and the 1ft few ingredients are algea/plant based. I will feed lots of veggies, though. I want a happy baby =3

I would suggest setting up a hospital tank for when you bring the little guy home if you haven't already just in case they sell you the fish before the ick has completely cleared. I remember having fish with ick once, just beware of second spikes for at least a week in the hospital tank before introducing him into your main one. ^_^

Ich is a PITA. On the bright side, fish that have survived ich will have a much better immunity to it in the future.

I will, if i have the room for it. All's I have left over right now is a 1 1/2 gallon that I'm soaking the DW in so that the 20 gallon wont get all yellow. They wouldnt sell fish with any disease, which is why I love this store, besides the fact that they take really good care of their fish, and its so worth the extra few dollars it it to drive there, and the extra money for the fish. I will definatly observe them before I take one home Thursday, though =3
Nilla, you should tell that to my Guppies! They really seemed to like getting ICH for like 3 months (on and off) a while ago gonk

That probably means the initial outbreak wasn't really eradicated. Unless you added new fish that brought ich back into the tank, then once ich is gone it's gone.

Lol. I'm dealing with ich in my 20g right now. Just using salt and heat. There hasn't been any signs of ich for about a week, but just the same I'm siphoning the bottom out every day and replacing the missing salt. I plan on doing this until next week, then normal water so they get used to not being salted. Then they're getting bagged up and shipped to florida a week after that.

I don't use meds unless completely necessary. There's no reason for it with ich, especially since I caught it so early. Overuse of meds for ich is actually causing a 'super' ich to form, just like with antibiotics in people. Soo yeah, those are my thoughts on that, lol. I had considered it if my plecos reacted negatively to the salt, but so far they haven't AND I think they might have/be in the process of spawning right now. Either that or they're fighting, I just caught my male chasing the female away from his cave. xDDD
