It wasn't like he had to have anymore slaves. Between Kara, Flint, Able, and Akila, his humble home and office was well staffed and looked after. Perhaps it was greed, or maybe even pity, that had the physician back in Zanzibar's notorious Black Market. As much as he hated the place, he seemed to be visiting there an awful lot. At least this time he actually did have reason to be in the rather bustling, run down city, as he had been called there on business. It had only been a few days and he'd be returning home the next. He trusted his felines to look after his property while he was away, simply because the four had proven to be well behaved thus far. If anything was out of place when he got back, he'd certainly let them have it, but for now... Well, they hadn't given him any reason to doubt them and he was certain Flint would make sure they all stayed in line. The reddish-hued hound plodded daintily on his slender paws, doing his best to avoid whatever filth and debris littered the walkway. Some of it was identifiable, some of it wasn't, but all of it was disgusting and he tried, with a great deal of difficulty, to ignore the fact that simply passing by was probably hazardous to his health, let alone actually walking through the market, and slowly at that. He'd need a good bath when he returned to Giza and so would any cats, if he brought any back with him. There was plenty of room in their quarters to house another one or two. Or three. But he was adamant about only picking one. He didn't want word getting around that he was a big softy. Because he wasn't. Right. He just needed help. Lots of help. And besides, the more slaves one had, the more influential and powerful they were, after all.
What he really wanted was an assistant for Flint. Bless him, the poor old cat worked hard. But he certainly wasn't getting any younger and, though he wasn't looking to replace Flint, he did figure the old slave could use some help. Akila was the muscle, Able did odd cleaning jobs, Kara was his more personal assistant, and Flint, well, he did a bit of everything. Next time, he'd bring Kara along with him while he was away on business, as it was about time for her to learn how to act during such things, though he doubted she would have any difficulty with it.
