Step into a room swept clean to the bare stone floors beneath, several curtains and chains hang from the ceiling dividing the expansive room into sections. Each section has it's own slab stone or metal operating table, fitted with drawers and restraints, as needed. All along the back of the room hangs a thick velvet curtain that poorly conceals a row of tall cage-like cells, many of which are occupied by a diversity of creatures in various stages of mutation, physical mutilation, or otherwise "experimental use". The wall is hung with many devices of alien appearance and painful design. Tucked demurely into a near corner sits a cluttered desk and chair, stacked with books, ancient scrolls, candle stubs, notes, and old blood bags. Beneath lies a werewolf curled around himself, one eye open to watch that you are not causing trouble for his mistress in her Laboratory.

Mercury bent to her task of mixing the deadly poisons. To paralyze an angel at all was tricky but to make it a temporary required some very careful measurements. The concentrated nightshade almost glowed in it's ominous dark purple color, the second ingredient did glow, a most poisonous scarlet red. The color of Poi blood, not -as some believed- in fact a fish but a rare species of dark unicorn. There was a sharp crash from outside her room, "Coux-joe' tell them to keep it down will you this is delicate work." The large werewolf padded out and into the main house, Intent on producing a quiet without. She carefully measured out both into separate sections of a three section glass sphere canister, into the third section the center section she set a larger amount of liquid nitrogen. she then wrapped the sphere in a perforated rubber skin. When hurled at the ground the ball would shatter releasing it's contents into the skin where they would quickly mix and evaporate into a noxious fog. It would most certainly kill anything less than an angel but the dose was small enough that the angels would recover from it, eventually. And vampire's while not fully immune to it, especially young ones, they would be able to function somewhat within it. [ Coux-Joe exits to Mansion ]

Her boots tapped slightly as she descended the stairs quickly. She glanced around for a moment before finding the woman at her table. She waited until she'd stopped pouring, not wanting to startle her. "You do realize there's a war going on upstairs, don't you?" She crossed her arms, a teasing smile on her lips.

Mercury looked up from her work setting it down so not to break the thing and looked around craning her neck to see the visitor behind her "Raide!" she Squeaked Happily, she pushed back from her seat and stood dancing across the floor to embrace her friend. "There's a what going on where?"

Raide happily returned the hug, a happy smile on her face. "A war," she repeated. "Some bandits, hell if I know. And that driver we got is probably dead by now. Idjit decided to take a 'shortcut,'" she freed her arms from Merc's hug to use air quotes. "So we were a bit delayed. We finally get here and I get yanked out the carriage and..." She paused to count. "I think I got maybe 10 before Coux-joe found me. Then 3 more. He went off after... something. I figured he was running an errand for you or something." She shrugged. She didn't question the werewolf's loyalty to them any more, so she wasn't concerned. "Whatcha makin?"

Mercury groaned exaggeratedly "He'll Be trying to kill everyone just to keep them quiet. I just sent him out to tell them to keep it down, this is some awful stuff I don't want to drop." She gestured to the table and the still glowing flasks of vile poison. "A Temp-paralysis! For Angels! No one said we were messing with angels! those do-gooders are such a hard lot to affect all "supernatural" so nothing in nature can affect them. bah!" She flapped her hand at the whole ineffectual mess. "But this should do the trick, for awhile at least."

Raide shook her head, picking up the ball Merc had just finished. "Sh*t just got serious," she said under her breath. "So what's the new leader like? Looked to be some hot stuff," she tossed the ball lightly from palm to palm, gentle as if it were an egg. "Had a nifty little trident-demon-minion as well."

"Well that's new then, He's well, new. I think he's more used to being told who to kill and then killing them," Mercury's eyes followed the ball from one hand to the other. "Diplomacy and Propriety I don't think come naturally to him, but he's trying. He is an ancient though, and while he's going to need help? he may just be worth it." She took it gently from Raide "that's dark alicorn - Poi Blood dear, Let's not shake it." she set it down gently into a small padded box. "I'll need to deliver that later."

Raide shrugged, taking to checking out the new lab instead of playing Russian Roulette with Mercury's poisons. "Diplomacy doesn't come naturally to anyone," she commented with a smirk. "I'd be surprised if the man knew what he was doing." She glanced behind the curtain to the cages and cringed, closing it quietly. "So long as he's easy on the eyes," she joked. At least, it seemed that way. It was hard to tell with Raide sometimes. Her sense of humor was a little warped, often times dry and morbid.

[Enter Coux-Joe from Garden]
Mercury turned to the door as her faithful servant entered with the still struggling figures. "Well look what the dog's dragged in. What have you brought me Coux-Joe?" The Werewolf laid the figures on separate tables. He grunted out about the battle in the garden and the strange exploding devices. Mercury bent over the figures, shrapnel poked out of the skin in both subjects, "So the little snoops got caught, let's see what they have to say for them selves shall we?" She strolled over to the far wall where her tools hung, she pulled down a selection of them, into a tray. "Now let's see, where to start." she pulled the tray over to the shape shifter, and started extracting the shrapnel.

The room didn't smell right. He wasn't quite sure what was happening to him, still a little dazed from the weapon. All that was registering was he had been brought to this odd smelling room against his will, and there was something causing him pain. Specchio started taking more shapes than just creatures in an attempt to defend himself. A rock, a hunk of iron, a sapling... but none of it seemed to help. It still hurt no matter what shape he took. Eventually he tried to get ahold of himself, and started by returning to his default, human-looking form. The shapeshifter forced his eyes open, and his first thought that this was certainly an unpleasant looking room. His second was that a vampire had them. Alright, so they were captured by the vampires, in what looked like it was probably a torture room, after being injured by the bandits' new weapons. How were they going to get out of this one...?
Fleischer had fought fiercely against being taken, but once he was set down, he once again lied still. The human was doing nothing but panting and trying to focus what senses had recovered. He still really couldn't see anything; just some very vague shapes, and the color red. That was likely because of blood in his eye, and his monocle being off. Who knew if it was even still intact? Probably wasn't. He heard something about "snooping," and "where to start," so that thankfully meant his hearing was coming back. It also most likely meant they had been taken by the vampires. Well, it was better than having been taken by the bandits...

Raide watched over the pair with mild intrigue. "Want I should so something, Merc? Get started on this other one, maybe?" She poked at the human. "This one seems to be awake." She paused, then grinned. "I can take care of that."

Mercury narrowed her eye's in irritation as the shifter changed into diverse inanimate objects, "That Simply will not do, Coux-Joe the restraints please," She left off pulling at the shrapnel as her servant busied himself placing snug restraints on both patients, they were simple rewoven cloth and buckle, no reason to go stronger with the injured. Mercury was relived when the shifter went humanoid, It made it easier to focus on the injuries. Still, she mixed a mild paralytic and injected it into the shifter before continuing. It wouldn't make him sleep any but at least he would stop squirming, may even dull whatever pain he felt. She returned to her task and finished the removal. the wounds bled a bit and she daubed each with small cotton patches. before moving on to the human. "Keep an eye on the shifter Rayray?" she mumbled, injecting the human as well, before she began to remove the bits of shrapnel.

Oh, hell. Specchio could feel his limbs getting steadily heavier. The restraints meant little, he could just turn into a snake or something to escape, but he couldn't fight this. He could still move, but just barely. This was terrible, he hated having his freedom restricted in such a way.
Fleischer swatted at the general direction he felt a poke from, but then he was tied down. He pulled a little against the restraints, testing their strength. They wouldn't be that much of a problem, really, had he not been injured. Then again, had he not been injured, he wouldn't be here in the first place. When the vampire began work on him, he simply stared up at her with his usual stern expression. At least she seemed to know what she was doing.

Raide leaned against the shape shifter's table, to "keep an eye" on the creature. She doubted she'd have much to worry about. His eyes were hazy, looking about but not really seeing. Scratching Coux-joe behind the ears, she sighed. "So much drama in one little house."
