The area of town was familiar, for all that it was run-down and falling apart. Scheelite had spent about a month out here, hiding from everyone and sorting out his world. For the most part things were sorted, enough so that he had gone home (some argue that he was forced home, with that broken knee and all), and gone back to regular Negaverse work.
Still, some things were just...not right. Not yet.
He had sat out there for a while, swinging back and forth on the creaky abandoned swingset that Serandite had once found him on. He pondered life, Negaverse, work, the future...quite a few things. No real complete thoughts, just ideas tumbling into one another until he really had no idea what had even started the train of thought.
Finally though, something snapped in his mind and he decided to make the next step in fixing everything in his life. The message was placed quickly to Zink's 'work' phone, spelling out his current location and just a need for a little talk.
Guidance, really.
Call placed, Scheelite snapped his phone shut and waited, swinging all the while.

He teleported in on the move, a few steps forward to bring him side by side with Scheelite, his partner... His... subordinate, how odd for it to be a title now and not just some plot over note cards at Hillworth, he handed some over though... homework. Flash cards for Scheelite to study in his spare time, part were chess moves.
"You rang?" He said, no titles here, no formality so long as no one else could see. Perhaps a dangerous thing but so long as there was respect... respect, he wanted to beat Lyra's head in for talking back to him, it was...alarming but thrilling at once thanks to the changes, his perspective on -life- had changed with that enlightening pain.

The notecards were a welcome sight. They were taken with a quick "Thank you!" and gently placed in a pocket on his jacket. Scheelite loved those notecards, they were something him and Zink had always shared, a constant in his life and damn did he need some of those. They'd be studied hard when he got home, just in case Zink decided to pop quiz him on them at another point in time.
"Just...wanted to talk if you have some time. Really needing to talk about Negaverse stuff...first question being have you seen Lyra lately?"
Scheelite fidgeted slightly in his seat on the swing. Not the normal fidgeting that came from his inability to sit still, but an uncomfortable sort of fidgeting. It was almost weird to be around him when he wasn't bouncing all over the place like a hyperactive child and generally making a fool of himself.
With as long as Zac had known him, perhaps he had picked up on the real reason Scheelite did those things.

"... I...might have." He said sounding more evasive than normal, it sounded like he'd -done- something but it wasn't corruption, -that- he would have told you about, or bragged...or both.
"Why...what has she done that's put you on edge?" He said frowning and searching Scheelite's face for answers, he'd pry them out if he had to, he was more than a little tired of never knowing what was going on with someone he'd known for such a long time. Negaverse or not it bothered him.
"... I might have pushed her off a roof into a garbage can..." He added hoping to draw information out of scheelite and amuse him at the same time.

"...You did?" Scheelite had to crack a smile at that. Oh man, how Lyra must have hated that! Pushed off a roof into a garbage can, trash all over her nice clean white uniform. Yeah, that probably pissed her off quite a bit! The thought made him snicker.
It went away though when he voiced his own concerns. "She's...acting weird man, I dunno. It used to be anytime we saw each other we ran straight into a fight. But...a while ago I saw her and she -wouldn't- fight me. She seemed rather hellbent on not doing it..told me she was 'cutting me off' from my...a-addiction." He paused just a moment but quickly launched into his next story to cover up that little bit there.
"I saw her again though, MADE her confront me by holding a civilian over a rooftop. But you know, instead of attacking me she hugged me. She friggin hugged me Zink, and then she got the civilian back..and then she bought me ice cream."
He conveniently left out the bits about begging her to fight...but if pressed he'd likely spill those details too.

Zinkenite's eyebrows arched enormously, rather as though they might try and come free of his forehead.
"DID she now..." He sounded very interested in the shift of behavior. "You wouldn't say...she might be starting to see -our- side of things would you?" He pressed.
He was asking your opinion, quite seriously asking it, just like old times when he asked you to play scout. The only unfortunate thing being that his plan for her MIGHT be the very thing that was messing with her head and making her act oddly.

This...this he liked. This he understood! It was just like old times, it was relaxing and comforting, even if it was just the simple act of asking him questions. He felt...important. It did wonders to soothe his nerves.
"I...think she is Zink, I really do. She was asking me questions...we sat and talked for a little bit. About why we fight and stuff. That...in itself is different, since again we used to just beat each other senseless. She...she said she's sick of us just battering each other."
He was still torn on that subject. This was his nemesis man! Part of him still needed that person to fight! But, maybe he'd just find another, like Lyra had suggested...
"I even leeched some energy from her to pep myself back up..just a bit! And, while she kind of snapped at me, she still didn't fight me..."

"Amazing..." He murmured but he looked pleased as a cat with a dish of canaries and cream.
"You're upset because she didn't fight you?" He guessed and then frowned thoughtful. Negative attention being better than no attention.
"Think of this, when we corrupt her...you can take her for ice cream. It will make up for all the bad times and you'll have an ice cream buddy when you aren't fighting. Look how -perky- and chatty she is all the time." He said with a grand wave.
At least then he'd give Scheelite something to look forward to, though having said as much, he'd probably jinxed the whole plan to failure and she'd either die or escape.

"...I am." He admitted, hanging his head slightly. "I begged her to fight me and she wouldn't. She just smirked at me and left, or later on just told me no. I'm...weak I guess. Need the satisfaction that SOMEONE out there sees me as a threat and wants to fight me."
Never had he confessed that to anyone. Never. But no, he had called Zink here today to be honest with him. Finally, in some cases.
"I...would like that though! An ice cream buddy would be great! And if she has to stay in the Negaverse space I'd visit her all the time and it'd be fun!" Another friend would be GREAT. Zink knew him well, while he'd seek out negative attention over no attention at all, the boy absolutely craved positive attention. Friends were just what he needed, even if said friends were former enemies.

"See? Not so bad at all." Zinkenite said sounding even more satisfied. "People will see you as a threat, don't worry about it, if they know it gets to you that they don't they will say it even if they don't believe it... "
He paused and put a tentative hand On scheelite's shoulder to assure him, it was a light and quick touch but all the same that was a lot from Zinkenite...especially in uniform.
"You'll make General soon, just watch. things will be...clearer then. It's hard to begin to describe it."

Scheelite was grinning. A lot. Not only had Zinkenite laid a reassuring hand on him (and he knew just how much THAT along meant coming from Zink), but he also believed he'd be a general soon! Zink was smart, he did a hell of a lot for the Negaverse. If Zink believed in him, he could so do it! And lately others had been speaking up for him, hell even Tanzanite had said a plan of his was good! Speaking of that plan he needed to ask Zink for help, but first...
"Zink...I er...I don't even know how to ask but..." He fidgeted more, discomfort clear on his features. Scheelite preferred to hide ever being uncomfortable, but it felt so wrong to just keep hiding things from his partner.
"Would you er....take me back under your wing?" The blonde gave a sheepish grin before going on. "We used to work AWESOME back in Hillworth, and and...I just...I don't know. I had wanted to do stuff on my own and I was so eager to strike out and run my own team and everything! And I love my team, I really do, and there's no way I'm ever going to give up on leading them but..I need help."
He felt so weak admitting to this, but he had to. It was going to make things better, he just...had to sacrifice his comfort and his illusion of perfection in his life to -really- make things better. That was a big step for him.
"Even if....when.." He quickly corrected himself. He'd -be- a general...someday. "When I'm a general...I'd really really really still like to report to you....if you d-don't mind of course!"

"...You, Can if you would like? You're still open to report to Linarite or...any other General... But if you need assistance I'll be sure to...make time for that" he said tentatively.
The last he knew Schee had been working so hard to prove himself on his own, in fact it had come to the point where he felt like he didn't know Scheelite at all, that nothing he had ever thought about him was true.
And yet here they were again, like it had started at the beginning, but so much had changed.
"WHEN you are General..." he added, you may CONSULT with me, but no one would look well on you -reporting- to me, you can do this Schee, you already stepped out into the world you can do this too..."

"Linarite is dead." He responded back with what he had been -ordered- to say, though he had the tiniest smirk when he said it. "But in any case that she wasn't...I love her to death, I really do, she's a great General! I'm just...more comfortable with you, ya know?" Best friends, partners, sometimes maybe even something more. Zinkenite was the one person he trusted more than anyone on the entire planet. Yes, even more so than their Queen.
"If consulting is just another word for me being able to ask you for help then I'd reallllllyyy like that! Really! It'd mean so much to me Zink!" Zink was getting -way- more from Schee than anyone else usually did. At least he was really opening up for once?
"I have this awesome plan....Tanz looked over it and said it's a good one! She offered to help but there's something I need you for..." And before Zink could even think to stop him, the blonde was babbling away with his super amazing plan. When he was done, he sat and grinned, waiting for Zink's thoughts.

"Good man..." Zink was pleased at the reply that Scheelite gave, yes it made him worry that she might never wake, but at the same time they needed this badly.
He listened to the plan, each step each idea and with each thing he nodded quietly, analyzed, calculated risk, assessed probably reactions and then...smiled.
"You, thought that through very well, of course I'll help you with that, It's an excellent plan."

Scheelite was trainable, you just had to put him with someone who knew how to work with him. Zink...had worked wonders with the boy really.
Zink's praise brought another wide grin to the boy's face, and by this time he was up on his feet and dancing in the most happy excited little circle he had in a long long time. Yes yes YES his work was going to pay off, it really was!
"Thank you Zink!!" And hell, he even managed to keep himself from latching onto the general in a hug. -That- was some kind of miracle right there.
