exterior interior This is just a hole in a hill that was mined out and walled that someone made into a nice home. It is well stocked with alchemical supplies, among various other things. There are several levels to this home, one heading up and multiple heading down. As you head down the levels get danker and darker. Some smell of blood. The instruments get more bizarre and sinister as one heads farther down as well. Somewhere along the line, the ways to the lower levels get hard to find, one of them being hidden behind a spring loaded brick wall on a swivel. The upper levels are purely for the mixing of chemicals into more chemicals. There are a few vents in the back of the rooms to allow the flow of air so that the brain doesn't get poisoned until death. The upper level has two rooms and facilities. The rooms are simple with things that are necessary for comfortable living, but not much more. There are also charts and lists there to direct and remind and record. A few feet of space is left in each room for simple decoration, if one wishes. It is the home for a madman and his servant. And it suits needs fine.

Erin entered the house first. He didn't really bother with looking at the entrance to it. He just didn't bother with things like that. He continued into the main room and looked around. "I like it. It's simple." He nodded as he spoke and started to unpack his chemicals. "Looks like I got exactly as I wanted." He remained completely unaware of Altiera's infatuation with him, but he still found her useful and might be lost without her. "Altie," as he referred to her, "get chemical compound 009. I'd say about twenty, for now. Set them up: here, here, here, and over there." He pointed to the spots that he wanted the compound, which was a phosphorescent chemical mixture Then hold onto one while we go through the depths of this place. Find the depths with which this place goes."

Epinmora saw the opening to the house and balked in disgust. She wasn't a mole, a rat, a badger, a Wiesel, she went on in her head. She named about a hundred ground dwelling creatures. The idea of a queen of the jungle, a tree and cave dwelling predator, reduced to a hovel in the ground made her want to kill something. But she didn't let it show. Instead she just told herself it was OK because she would be with Erin. Upon entering she felt better, the walls were more cave-like then she had expected. But it was still a hole int he ground, and she could not get that out of her head.
Epinmora mindlessly went about her duty's, placing chemicals where she knew they belonged. After finishing she picked a bottle up and stood by the closest door, awaiting Erin to take the lead. She stood a bit taller then him, but when she looked at him it was if she was shorter. Just the mannerism, the gaze, the way she walked. It all displayed servitude, but more prevalent was admiration and love. If this man asked her to drink a bottle of cold iron flecked sulfuric acid, she would. Although she also knew introducing iron to sulfuric acid would cause a reaction, and the iron would bond with sulfur rendering it harmless to her. It was about the image, not the actual science behind it.

The room seemed to become allot brighter as the chemicals were placed. The place hadn't been cleaned in a long while. They would change that after a while. He took the lead down the stone carved stairs. The smell coming up to them was vastly different from what was in the surface room. The smell from below smelled of mold and dank. He could hear running water. It would definitely come in handy. As he came to the landing of the next floor, he could smell other things, but he couldn't quite place them right now. There was the sound of a snake going across the floor. He wondered if he should have Altie catch it. He might be able to use it, if it was venomous. He decided that it would still be there later on, if he needed it. There were more interesting matters to attend. He reached into his pack and took out a few vials of chemicals that he could identify by their weight and temperature alone. He removed their lids and started mixing them together. The work was done rather quickly in a near dark situation, and not a single drop of the liquid was dropped on the ground. He then closed the lid and started shaking it vigorously. "Cover your eyes, Altie." He then opened the lid and splashed the contents into the middle of the room. It exploded into a bright luminescence. It was far brighter then the little glow vial that Aliera held, and it would last for much longer. Erin didn't use it more often because the mixture was often too bright, the chemicals were a little uncommon, and very expensive. And it was also a complicated mixture as well, and didn't feel like doing it every time he wanted to illuminate a room. The glow vial was much simpler.
((I don't really know what to do with this. Go ahead and make something up if you want. I just wanted to mix some chemicals. And cause a light explosion))

Upon entering the room Epinmora's instinct told her to pounce on the snake, for protection and experimentation. But she didn't want to cause any sudden movements so long as Erin was working. Epinmora looked away from the explosion, her eyes were far more sensitive than Erins. The damp and musky smell of the basement forced her nose to wrinkle. Her entire mind was assaulted by the smell of the room and the chemical explosion. She wished to return to the outside and let her mind clear, but after years of practice she could stand being in this state for hours.
She slowly walked around the room, measuring it, taking in every detail. Getting use to it. She knew they would spend most of their time in this dank little hole int he ground. Hours upon hours in this damp, cold, wretched hole. The only light in the hole didn't come from the artificial light but from Erin. No other being in existence could get her to even stay in this hole for more then a few seconds.

The light that was produced was not only bright, but it put off a heat that would eventually clear up the dank smell. There were a few instruments used for different things, but they were mostly useless to him or ruined. "Hmm." He peered closer at some of the objects. "I wonder if they can be broken down and used for something useful..." he wondered to himself, aloud. He continued around the room, mentally taking notes. There were things that didn't add up. He looked up and saw something that wasn't right. "We're vastly farther below ground... then I perceived us to be." The rock that he was looking at didn't form anywhere but very far below ground. "We're not in a hole, like I gathered we might be... This is a cave system. Altie! Search the area. See if there are animals down here. Also investigate the area for a back entrance. Don't close it off if you do find one, but let me know. I can put it to good use." He had ideas for a back entrance. He had prior experience in certain matters, including an angry mob that had tried killing him. He didn't have a back entrance then. He also didn't have Altiera. Thinking back on it, he realized how much life had gotten easier with her around. He was glad to have her around. "Bring compound 053 with you." It was a very special compound that worked wonders in healing, should she get hurt. He handed it to her after digging it out of his own bag. "Try not to have to use it."

Epinmora circulated the room until she found it. A slight breeze. After a bit of prodding she found where the false wall was. She put pressure on it but it would move. "Erin did you bring water with you?" she asked kneeling down. She probed along the edges of what she thought was a door. "i could use some water to make an ice path so this will shift back and forth easily.
A shallow layer of ice along the door's edges and a layer of ice along the ground. The two would slide past each other easily if there was also a thin layer of room temperature water between the two. But she didn't have any water on her at the moment.

"Hmm? Oh." He came closer. "I didn't think to bring any with me... Let me take a look at that." He crouched down and looked at the base of the door. "You might have trouble pushing it anyway. Look here." He pointed to a spot on the door that wasn't readily noticeable and he would have missed it had he not been already looking for it. "There's a bar holding it in place. Might be a pivot. Let's see if I can..." he trailed off as he started looking around, rubbing his hands over the accused wall. His hand ran over an irregular bump in the wall. "Ah ha! There it is." He pressed it in and the wall turned on an axis. "It's a simple mechanism using weights and counter levers to turn easily." He looked smug at his discovery and analysis of the methods that it was used.

She passed him, her head turning to watch him as she went. One eyebrow raised. "right, well ill be back soon." She descended into the new cavern. Musky and damp. After a minute of walking she smelled something. It took a minute before she began to smell it. It put her on edge. She was not certain if the smell was new or old. It was the slightest smell of bear scat. She hated turning but if there was a bear that would be her only way of killing it. Unless she could score a decent strike and make its blood flow enough...
She let her free left hand drop to the small Sax knife at her hip. It should have the weight to penetrate the creatures hide from a distance. Her eyes were darting around the widening tunnel. Her eyes, that of a predator, a queen of the jungle, would detect most movement in the low light cast by the vial in her raised hand.
She would rather get the beast killed with a well placed dagger and some magic then have to transform. Even if she did there was no guarantee the bear wouldn't kill her first, or even afterwords. Even though she would be the size of the bear, maybe bigger, she could still take a wound that could kill. That is when she remembered that she had Erin's potion. Her hand left her dagger to go to the potion, to let it calm her, reassure her, remind her of Erin. And that is when it attacked. It was larger then she expected. Much larger. It was almost nine feet tall, when it was on all fours. When Epinmora transformed she was a little over nine feet long, not including tail.
Her stomach seemed to revolt, dropping, hiding, shrieking. Fear struck her like a charging boar, she hesitated for a blink of a second. She was in awe of the immense size.
((you wish to control the bear? to make this less of a one sided posting fight?))

((Not particularly. I'm no good controlling big animals besides dragons. Had it been a wolf or something, I would do it easily.))
He waved her off and allowed her to leave quietly. He meanwhile continued on his examination of this floor. He was beginning to realize that this wasn't the first floor down. He was about three floors down from the ground level. He also took a look at the walls to find out that the walls weren't regular. They had been altered on a chemical level in order to make them stronger and more durable while still remaining in the same composition. He wondered how that had been done. He certainly didn't have any chemicals to do that. He figured maybe intense heat to remold the rock. Even higher brain functions that allowed the manipulation of the natural elements. That would be done easily enough. He didn't know how to do it himself, but he had seen several people do it personally. It was an interesting process, but it was also very taxing on most, as Earth doesn't like to be manipulated. For this to have been done on this scale, there would have to have been several people with the same abilities all working together simultaneously in order to work it out. Or taken one person an extremely long time to do it. Unless they had been one of the most exemplary earth manipulators in the history of the world. He decided to look at the other things in the room. There was some dried chemicals in a cupboards and closets. He would be able to reanimate them and find out what exactly them did simply enough. He just needed to get some water. It hit him. There was a damp musty smell down there. Even he could smell it. That usually indicated a high moisture content. Somewhere near the cave, but not necessarily in it. He placed his hand on the wall. It was moist. There was also a deep humming in the wall. It indicated that there was a river on the other side of the wall. He would be able to set something up whenever Altiera came back. He would need to get into the wall though. The density of the wall would make it almost resistant to many acids. A strong explosive would also be difficult to get through it. He might be able to scratch it with his usual explosive, but it wouldn't be worth it to use more powerful explosives, either. Altie might be able to use her higher mental capabilities to manipulate the water and get it to cut through the rock easily. They would be able to have running water in the home.

Epinmora was struck in the shoulder by a large clawed paw. She went sprawling along the floor, dropping the light source. Had she not rolled with the impact she would have a broken shoulder. As of right now it was torn and useless. The pain would have made her stop in her tracks were there not adrenaline being pumped freely into her muscles. There would be no running, not with Erin sitting back there unaware. Turning was a bad idea, she would need a few seconds at the least- and a useless arm would be more prominent if she turned. No she would have to fight the massive creature. Its eyes the only thing she could see with any clarity.
The Large bear roared at the fragile female in front of it. Trespassing deep within its cave. Then it charged.
Epinmora reached out with her mind and grabbed at the moisture in the air. Not much, but she could use it to coat the ground where the bear walked in a small sheen of ice. She rolled away from the bear as she did this, her roll ended her on her feet. Dagger in her good arm she waited for the bear to attack. She would wait for it to roar a challenge at the dancing figure in front of it, and let the dagger fly. Then she could drag the water out of the creatures veins.
The bear was able to ignore the ice, its claws shattering it as it ran. It swung at the petite creature in front of it, unable to make contact. It jumped and weaved around the bears paws. But it was attempting to corner it, maybe just bring it into the darkness.
Epinmora attempted to avoid the creatures attacks, it was difficult with one arm flopping around uselessly. This was not the way she wanted the fight to go, but she had no choice. After a few strikes she realized it was getting darker and she was nearing a corner...

Erin waited in the main cavern for Altiera. Quite frankly, he was surprised that she hadn't returned yet. She should have been more then a match for anything that she could find in a cave. He went through the door to find her. He could here growling and roaring down the tunnel. Sounded like a bear. He sighed in exasperation. Why was it always a bear? He followed the sound of the conflict, shaking his head ruefully.

The sight of a second opponent made the bear stop. It turned its head to assess the new threat.
Epinmora was surprised at Erin's appearance, the though of him being in harms was too unacceptable. She through the dagger with a whip of her wrist. The long Sax knife slammed into the bears neck, it looked like a twig in comparison. The slight pain in the creatures neck only enraged it. Turning back to the fragile girl it charged. Epinmora was barely able to dodge as her mind groped around the whole, tracing it back to its massive beating heart. With a slight tweak of will power she was able to force the heart to burst.
With a large thump the beast fell to the ground before her. Dead. The only sign of struggle was the blood on its claws and the heavy knife in its neck.
Epinmora turned on Erin. Her face contorted in anger. "You bloody idiot! What were you thinking! That bear could have killed you!" She said stomping her way towards him. "Go back now! Before something else shows up! If you get hurt i swear to god i will beat some sense into you!" she pointed back the way he had come. Without making sure he left she went back to the bear to retrieve the Sax knife. In pulling it out she got a small splatter of blood on her legs.

Erin stared at her blandly. He wasn't surprised by her reaction, and neither was he impressed by it. He also decided that he wasn't going to listen to it. He waved her off with a flick of his wrist. There were few things in the cave as wild as he was. He walked over to the bear that was now lying on the ground. He grabbed a scruff of fur with his right hand and yanked it up, lifting the bear's front half off the ground easily. He looked at the bear, checking it's pupils, tongue, teeth, among other things. It was healthy. It could turn out to be useful, in one way or another. "I'll take this back. I could use it for something. There are definitely some useful elements in it." He started dragging it along behind him, seemingly not even working at it.

Epinmora waited for her anger to subside before she retrieved the vial that acted as her light source. Then she drank a small amount of the healing potion allowing it to seal up the gashes on her arm. It left behind neat little scars that itched.
As she continued exploring the cave she scratched at the fresh scars, while staying ever vigilant. It was not long before she found the exit. There was the sound of rushing water nearby. She was close to a stream, or small river. Around the cave where smooth stones and a recently dried up river bed. The cave was in a prime position. If the river bed were to rise once more the cave would be difficult to get to but not impossible. It would also be quite hidden.
After a quick inspection she returned to the house and explained what she found.
