This year I am having bad luck with my ratties. In total I have eighteen, and one of those has a middle ear infection and this morning, the mother of fifteen of the rats, escaped from her cage and was attacked by one of my cats. Luckily, she only has some missing fur and a bloody eye, but it looks like she is going to lose that eye. It is strange, but usually the only issues I have with my rats is the occasional cold pandemic or mites.
Is there anything I can do for my rat with the injured eye? I have her on antibiotics in case of infection and she is in quarantine with the rat with the ear infection (also on antibiotics) but can I do something for her? I know more about caring for rats than my local vet who usually only works with cats, dogs, and the occasional cow.
