Amai closed her eyes as she leaned her head back against the tree bark. She had made the decision to rest under a Sakura tree for the shade since it seemed to be so hot outside. A small sigh escaped her lips as she relaxed under the branches. Her hands rested on her lap since she was sitting on her haunches. The past began to fill her mind as she began to drift off into her own little world.

Sadao had just scrapped his ribs project, his third cooking project that day. He wasn't feeling too happy about this, he had particularly hated everything he had tried to cook today. He had stormed out of the kitchens after decided that he would quit for the rest of the day and sought someplace to go and sit and think and pout and just chill out. Today he had really wanted to cook something awesome, too. Oh, wait, "sugoi," he wanted to cook something sugoi.
He sighed and headed to the sakura trees to pick up some of the fallen petals laying around the ground.

Amai was replaying the memories of the old days when she lived at home with the family. All the laughter and cries that were held in that one house seemed to be amazing to her now. She felt like she was no longer alone anymore and she shut out the memories. Her eyes opened and she looked around only to find a male picking up petals. "What are you doing that for?" She didn't even hesitate to ask her question, or mention who she was, she wanted to know why he was here.

Sadao hadn't realized someone was out there. His mind was still stuck in the kitchen with today's failed projects.
"What am I doing...?
He looked at this girl, then looked at his hand in which he held the petals, then finally realized what she was asking.
"I'm picking up the sakura petals. Dunno why, they're pretty though." He poked the petals on his palm, thinking about the unmade ribs in the trash. Then he snapped to.
"Uh, sorry if I interrupted you, I didn't know anyone was out here." He stood awkwardly, staring at the petals on his palm, unsure what to do.

Amai felt completely silly, she was acting like it was her place and it wasn't. She got to her feet and smiled warmly at the male. "I apologize as well, my name is Amai." She decided that she should greet herself and then to make him feel better she gathered a bunch of the petals into her hands and threw them in the air. She giggled and twirled around as the petals fell. "That is what I like to do with them." She couldn't believe that she just admitted one of her many secrets to this stranger.

He watches as she throws the petals up in the air, and as a few land on her head. He quickly reached up and brushed them off as he spoke.
"My name's Sadao. I... I'm not sure what I like to do with them yet. They look pretty enough to decorate food, though. Um, have you have used them for food before? I bet they'd make it a lot better. I bet they might've helped my failed cooking projects today...." He sighed and once more stared at the petals still resting in his palm.

Amai blushed deeply when he reached up to her head and brushed the petals off of her hair. "It um it is nice to meet you Sadao." She managed to get the words out of her mouth and then she realized that he wasn't done talking and she interrupted him. "I'm sorry I interrupted! I don't really cook..I buy the cooked food." She glanced down at her feet and chewed on her bottom lip.

"It's no big deal, it's not like you were trying to be mean or anything." He gave a shy laugh. His laugh quickly turned to stutters as she told him she didn't cook.
"O-oh, I'm sorry, I just haven't ever met a Heila that didn't cook. But then again, I-I guess I haven't met that many Heila, so I... I guess I wouldn't really know. Um, i-if you don't cook, would you mind... mind if I asked what you DO like to do?"
Sadao was being very embarrassed around this girl, but he couldn't tell why. She was very pretty, maybe that was why? Or maybe it was because he was messing up so much. He was pretty new around here, and wasn't exactly sure how he was supposed to act.

Amai moved her fingers to her hair and began her nervous habit. She began to twirl her hair between her fingers and she looked at him. "It's not that I don't want to cook, I..I don't know how to cook." She got the words to spill from her lips but then she began to chew on her bottom lip. Amai then realized that he had asked her another question so she made herself put on a smile and moved her hands to her sides. "I love to sit out here and sometimes I'll draw the scenery but I don't think it is very good." She wanted to chew on her lip again but she tried to restrain herself and made happy thoughts go through her mind.

"Well, uh, if you're interested, I could maybe teach you how to cook someday. If you want, of course." He scratched his cheek and watched some petals fall, until he heard her mention drawing. He lost all his nervousness then.
"You draw? That's so awesome! I bet it's cool, can I see? Will you show me? I've always wanted to draw, but I've never been very good at it so I just kept to cooking."
