"You idiot." Sasuke rubbed his head, as if he were getting a headache. He watched with a frown as Kaiyumi tried to balance on her head, using the couch to support herself. "If you continue to do that, the blood with rush to your head and you'll become even stupider..." He grumbled. Not that he knew if that were really true or not...and besides, could Kaiyumi get any stupider?

Probably not.

Averting his gaze, the boy glanced around the familar walls of the center, shaking his head before emitting a sigh. There wasn't much to do...No one seemed to be here at the moment, and he wasn't in the mood to sit and watch Kai make a fool of herself all day.

For once, he was hoping for someone, anyone, to talk to. He didn't want to be left alone with his guardian all day.

He watched the door with a frown. Somebody...

Somebody. Sango. Close enough.

Perhaps fate was truly against Sasuke in this life as well. The door swung open, and the demon slayer stood completely still. Then, suddenly, she lifted her hand up.

Almost like a magnet, the boomerang flew toward it and was caught effortlessly then skillfully straped onto her back. All without the teenager even having to open her eyes. Seems she'd been training with Kirara outside before entering, who was content to linger about the yard.

Brown eyes opened, blinked, and glinted micheviously. "Sasuke!"

...He should have been more specific.

Anyone but her.

The boy, now older, stared up at the teenager with a frown. "Sango..." He greeted, sighing and shaking his head. Rising, he suddenly winced at the sound of a loud thump and Kaiyumi whining. Turning his head, he snorted lightly before turning his black eyes back to Sango.

"Er...what...brings you here...?" He grumbled, before his gaze wandered to Sango's weapon. She had been training...he was impressed.

Not that he'd admit it.

"I was hoping to find one of my very talented sparing partners, or at least someone with skill," Sango answered in an over happily voice. She was clearly teasing him already. Lifting a hand to her forehead as someone on a ship would, she moved her head to the left, to the right and back again.

"Unfortunately, I don't see anyone like that. But then, you're so short I can hardly see you at all." She nodded to confirm her own words, then bowed politely to Kaiyumi. "Hello, Ms. Kaiyumi! If you keep trying like that I'm sure you'll be able to stand on your head very soon without using the couch!"

Such a sweet girl...

Guh.

Sasuke's eyes narrowed, but it merely an annoyed look. "For one thing, I'm very talented, thank you very much." He grumbled curtly. "And I've grown taller since you've last seen me. If you were shorter then me, I'd worry for you, since you happen to be older..." Sasuke's usual smirk spread across his face as he shook his head.

Kaiyumi on the other hand grinned cheerfully back to Sango. "See Sasuke, she's nice." She pouted, before smiling back at Sango. "It's nice to see you again!"

Sasuke snorted at this. Girls. They were so sweet to each other. The boy rolled his eyes before giving a tiny shake of his head. "Yes, good for you Kaiyumi. Get back to your head...balancing junk."

Sango's gaze briefly edged to her shoulder where her tiny, two-tailed company now clung. Kirara gazed at her, then Sasuke and Kaiyumi, as of now strangers to her. She'd heard stories of them, however.

"Oh, that's right, Sasuke is very skilled..." Sango raised a few fingers to her chin and put on a thoughtful expression. She snapped her fingers suddenly and darted across the room, coming to a stop infront of Sasuke. Dropping to her knees, she became the same height as him. Her hand lifted and settled on his head, patting him a few times.

"I think getting you a little girlfriend might help with your bad habbit of insulting girls all the time, Sasuke."

The boy paused to look up at the feline creature curiously, before emitting a tiny growl as Sango bent down. He frowned as she then started to pat him. "I am not a child." He snapped. Well, he was, but he was a /mature/ child.

...Or as mature as some can get.

He pushed her hand away with his arm, his expression becoming even moodier at Sango's suggestion. "I think not. Perhaps if you get a boyfriend however, you can stop treating me like a child." Well, that didn't make too much sense, but he wasn't going to let Sango get away with suggesting he get a girlfriend.

The boy shuddered at the thought. That just...wasn't him. Besides, he was too young...

"You judge too quickly, little Sasuke!" Sango informed him, lifting a hand and waving her index finger as a teacher would to a child who had done something wrong in the classroom. "I have a boyfriend." No, she didn't.

"And anyway," she continued. ""You know what they say, right? The best romances start blooming in childhood!" Oh, this was too much fun. The hand she held up came to cover her mouth on one side, and she leaned close to his ear and whispered, "Sasuke, would you be willing to prove to me these supposed skills you have? But if you lose, you have to let me set you up."

She pulled back and got to her feet, turning around so quickly Kirara was nearly thrown off her shoulder and into the wall. "But, I guess if you don't have any talent after all..."

He quirked a brow. Sango had a boyfriend? "That's news to me..." He smirked, shaking his head.

The smirk faded back to the frown however as she whispered in his ear.

If he lost, he'd have to let her set him up. Pfft. Obviously not. He wouldn't go through with this. Nothing could change his mind. Nothing at...

He paused, staring at Sango, eyebrows knitted together. Was she challenging him? Growling, the boy rose. "I have more talent then you probably do." He snapped. "Alright then, I'll prove it to you."

...How?

From the side, Kaiyumi watched them curiously, from an upside-down point of view.

"Fine," Sango said. And thus the agreement was settled. But again, how? After a moments thought, Sango punched her fist into her palm with an 'Aha!'.

She reached into her pocket, and withdrew her hand as a fist. She then tightened her other hand into the same position and leaned forward a bit. "Pick which hand the coin is in, Sasuke." Not everything about skills had to do with fighting...

Sasuke stared at Sango for a moment, before glancing at her hands.

"...What does this have to do with anything?" He asked with a frown. "I don't have X-ray vision you know..." The boy sighed, though his eyes didn't leave Sango's clenched hands. He peered at them closely, his frown deepening.

How was he supposed to tell?

"Feh. How do I know you have a coin at all?"
PostPosted: Sun Feb 05, 2006 5:03 pm

"You don't," Sango answered. "I'm very impressed you thought of that, though, Sasuke, that's very smart for your age." Ah, those jokes never got old. "You need to have skill in luck, too. If we went out and fought I'd just be a bully, wouldn't I? But you have just as good a chance as guessing this as not, so it's far to both of us."

Sango stuck her tounge out. "Maybe I don't have one, or maybe I do and I switched hands somehow. You agreed, Sasuke, so you have to play. Now, pick one before we're both old."

"I would have preferred you try being a bully then doing this..." He grumbled.

He glanced from one hand to the other, grinding his teeth together. Sango said he couldn't be sure, and for all he knew, she may be able to switch the coin to the opposite hand with a mere, almost invisible flick of her hand.

Well, who really care then? Even if she were to set him up, he wouldn't cooperate. "Er...that one..." He shrugged, motioning towards the right hand. It still irrated him however that she may have no coin at all.

From the shoulder of her battle partner, Kirara watched the exchange of words intensely. She didn't quite understand humans (or otherwise, since there didn't seem to be many humans here).

"Sorry," Sango chirped. She opened her left hand. Nothing. She lifted her right, and opened it. "You know, you could've said that I don't have a coin at all, but then you'd still have been wrong." Her right hand opened to reveal nothing as well. "The correct answer is that the coin is still in my pocket."

Without waiting for him to respond, she once again targeted his guardian. "Ms.Kaiyumi, do you mind if I take Sasuke for a walk with me and Kirara? We'll be back in a few hours I promise."

UGH.

Well, he was close, in the sense that he thought there was no coin. Grumbling, he glanced over to Kaiyumi, PRAYING that she wouldn't sa-

"Sure thing Sango!" The girl flipped right-side up. "Go ahead! I'm sure Sasuke could use some fresh air and a walk with his friend!"

Friend? Sasuke quirked a brow. Was she both blind AND deaf? Geez...He'd have a talk to Kaiyumi when they got home, and try to convince her never EVER to let Sango take him anywhere.
