 Today was a cake day. At least, right now it felt like a cake day.
Sadao had managed to get all the way through the mixing stage, and had just put the cake in the oven. Now he had a few hours to...
To what? He leaned against the counter and stared into the oven, wondering what he could, should, or wanted to do now.

 Orabela hummed a little as she wandered around the shop. She was a little bored, but had not much of an idea of what she wanted to do. So, adjusting her hat and skirt, she stepped back into the shop, hoping something would jump out at her. Two steps into the kitchen and she saw a blue chef, someone she'd never met before.
She paused, debating what she should do. She fidgeted a little, suddenly shy. Should she quietly go back outside so as not to disturb him? She just didn't know...

Sadao stared into the oven, utterly lost at what to do.
At the very least I can the icing ready, he thought to himself.
He flipped around to rummage for different colored icing packs when he saw a brown chef standing at the entrance. He briefly marveled at her skin, thinking that she looked like she was covered in chocolate.
"I-I'm sorry," he forced out, "did you need the kitchen? I can get out of your way if you need me to, sorry."
He turned once more, before realizing he should set the timer for the cake.
"Uh, just let me... there, I just needed to set the timer, sorry."
He walked toward her and paused a few steps away, because she was right in the doorway and he couldn't really just shove past her. He scratched at his hair, unsure what to do.

She was just about to leave when he turned around and she squeaked when he spoke. "Ah! N-no, please, you're fine, I was just w-wandering around...u-um..." she said and blushed a little, her cheeks turning a sort of raspberry chocolate.
She blinked when he said he needed to set the timer and she tilted her head to the side, hands playing with the hem of her skirt. "W-what kind of c-cake are you making?" she asked, looking at the floor in case he didn't want to answer.

Sadao blushed back. He wasn't really sure why, but she was blushing, so he started blushing too.
"Uh, it's sort of random, but it's like a vanilla cake, but with strawberry swirls in it. I'm not sure what kind of icing I'm gonna put on it yet, though I'll probably put bits of strawberries on it.
Uh... Are, are you any good at cakes? Would... you like to help me?"

She nodded a little, smiling. "Sounds delicious," she said, "Strawberry is my favorite flavor!" She was still blushing, but now she was smiling and looking up at him, pleased that he wanted her help. "I...think I'm okay at cakes, heh, sure, I'll help!" She came a little closer to the oven, enough to smell the sweet scent of strawberry floating from it. "You said vanilla cake, right? What about a vanilla icing with strawberry bits in?" she asked.

He scratched at his hair once more. "A sort of chunky icing, huh? I've never tried something like that before, dunno if I'd be any good at it. I bet it'd be super delicious though! So let's do it!"
He grabbed a carton of strawberries out of the fridge and began chopping them into small, bite size pieces.
"What color dye should we add to the frosting? Pink maybe, or just leave it white? Or do you have a favorite color that would go well with the cake?"
Sadao was excited for this cake now, he'd never made a cake with someone else, and he was very happy to be sharing like this. He'd also never really experimented like this before, and was very excited to be trying new things.

Smiling, she nodded. "Uh huh! I had it once, and it was really good!" she giggled a little and grabbed the ingredients to make a homemade icing. "Umm...I think it would be pretty neat if it were pink," she said. "After you've cut the strawberries, would you find the food coloring for me?" she asked and smiled at him as she mixed the ingredients carefully, wanting it to be perfect. This was her first time making a cake with someone else and she wanted it to be perfect.

"Yeah sure!" He finished chopping up the strawberries, and looked at the small-ish pile of bite-sized pieces. "Do you think this will be enough, or should I get a second carton?"
He took a quick glance at the cake in the oven. He knew it wasn't long enough for it to change, but he was nervous. Then he realized that he didn't know anything about this Heila that he was cooking with.
"Uh... My name's Sadao, what's yours? Are cakes your favorite to make?"

She leaned over to see his pile of strawberries. "That should be plenty!" she said with a smile. "Just a little food coloring in the icing, then we add the strawberries, and then all that's left is waiting on the cake!" She mixed a little more, getting the icing to the perfect consistency. "Oh!" she exclaimed, ashamed she'd been so rude. "Please forgive me, my name is Orabela," she said and smiled. "Yes! I love making cakes! Do you?"

Sadao scooped the strawberry bits into a bowl for his new friend and went to dig through the cabinets for pink food coloring.
"Orabela, that's a really pretty name. Sometimes I love cakes, sometimes I don't. I'm that way with all food. But today, I think I love cakes." He flashed her a quick grin before going back to his search for the food coloring and finally finding it in the next cabinet.
"Ah, here you go Orabela!" He bounced back over to her and plunked the pink food coloring down next to her.
