"When one looks back on their life, what do most say? I wonder this sometimes, though to me, I feel there is a different between what I feel is normal and what is. Most people remember growing up if they aren't too old. Maybe they have children that they now see themselves' in their children. I unfortunately do not have that joy in life. If I think back to the very beginning, what I remember is the pain of death. The pain of feeling my heart slowly not beating anymore and my body losing all its life, and yet, I am not dead. In fact, I am what one would call Undead now, more precisely a vampire. I don't remember my real name, though I don't feel it would fit anymore even if I did. Humans seemed to deem names based on the soul fact of the sound of it or maybe on a grandmother's death. Vampires are different. My name is Clarence; I was told after death that it was a very respectable name. Of course, that was the 1700s. I am currently about three hundred and some odd years old. Most people will never get to say that truthfully I hope. Truly I have to say the ages do not matter to me. I when through most of America's growth and I have to say, I did not live it as much as I should have. To think. I was sired into one of the greatest vampire clans of time and yet feel I have lived through nothi-" User Image

Clarence's typing on the laptop suddenly hauled before his piercing almost white, sky blue eyes shot up at the girl standing over him. "Charity, I have told you time and time again not to watch me while I am doing something. It aggravates me.” The vampire said sharply and without sympathy. “You are rude, and if you weren’t always writing about your life, maybe you could live a little more.” She said back just as harshly before she moved away from him and out the study he was lounging in. Of course after the rude interrupt Clarence had lost his will to type anything. “Damn you woman,” He cursed hatefully at the other before standing and setting the laptop aside. He wasn’t exactly tall looking at him, but he had long blonde hair that was quite beautiful, so it attracted attention to his face. At the moment, his hair was pulled back and out of his face so he had a deified look about him. That was one thing about vampires, which everyone in the house seemed to love. They were all beautiful beyond words or that is how they described it. Clarence didn’t find every vampire in the house beauty at all actually though, he found that some were actually quite ugly, but more of on the inside than out. Clarence thought that was what should matter, though when you are eternally beautiful that is what you MUST look for in a person.

Carefully so he did not disturb anyone like Charity had him, he moved out of the study and down the hall of the mansion they lived in. Everyone seemed to be doing something of at least minor importance even Lawrence, who by their master, Sebastian, was deemed completely unable to focus on anything for more than an hour. Hope, the smartest of all the vampires in the house, tried to tell Sebastian that he was just ADHD, but Sebastian had lived so long, he felt labeling diseases on vampires was a terrible way to waste his precious time. Altogether, including Sebastian and Clarence, there was seven of them, Lawrence, Charity, Hope, Clarence, Sebastian, Charlotte, and lastly but not least Lucas. All renamed by their lord Sebastian of course. Sebastian always seemed funny that way. He liked to keep vampire whose name sounded old and deified even if they weren’t themselves. The other day he refused to talk to a vampire, who named Roy even though he had been around for almost as long as Clarence had. Clarence paid no mind though; tonight he wanted to do something, without the family seeing as they were busy anyway. Yes, Clarence was going to go out for a night on the town.

Andrei gave a soft whimper as he looked up at the female wolf pinning him to the forest floor. Don't you ever run off like that again! You stay with the pack! Understood? she snarled at him, her muzzle close to his neck. You could have been killed! Who knows what kind of things are in these woods, Andrei. We're not in Russia anymore. We don't know these lands as well as we did there! she snapped again.

Andrei soon grew annoyed with his sister. She had no right to be treating him like this. He may have been small, but he wasn't that much of a pup anymore. He didn't need to be escorted every time he needed to use the restroom. Mother! Make Anya get off of me! This is childish! I just wandered off to relieve myself. I didn't want to slow the pack down! I would have caught up the young werewolf complained to his mother. He leaned his head back, looking as the deep blue eyes of his mother looked down at him.

She's right, Andrei. It was dangerous for you to run off and not tell anyone. the black wolf said to her son. She then raised her gaze to her daughter. Though Andrei is right also. This is a childish way to treat him. Get off of him Anya. she said, nudging her daughter's side softly with her muzzle. Anya gave a soft 'humph' and backed off of her younger brother. She allowed him to stand, watching him carefully.

Andrei was the youngest of four. He had three older, and very protective, sisters. He padded over to his sister and rubbed his head against her neck. I know you're just trying to protect me, Anya, but I can take care of myself now. I'm never going to get to the point of Alpha if you keep sheltering me. he said before backing away and looking around at the pack. He was just glad he hadn't been pinned by his father. Dimitri was the largest wolf of the pack. Even if Dimitri had unintended to harm his son, with his power and size it would have been painful to be pinned under such massive paws.

Andrei sighed softly as they reached the large house in the middle of the forest. He looked up at it, shaking out his silver fur before shifting back and shoving his long hair behind his shoulder. The moment he walked inside, he started straight for his bedroom to dress himself. After doing so, the young werewolf walked to the living room where he knew his mother would be reading. "I'm going out for a bit. I promise I'll be careful" he said, pressing a kiss to his mother's cheek before heading to the door.

Andrei grabbed the keys to his black corvette and twirled them around his finger, heading toward the large garages where the cars were kept. He smiled at the purr of his engine turning and backed out of the driveway, heading toward town.

Clarence sighed as he slumped a little in his bar stool. Over three hundred years of existing, and yet, he felt like he couldn't talk to a single person in this bar. For starters, the bar was one step above the trashiest place he had ever seen. Of course, no bar in this city would meet his expectations, but at least this one was kind to the monstrous sort. It didn't advertise this fact since most creatures of the night hid their true forms behind human masks, but the bartender was a skin-walker, and that was good enough reason to make this the local monster bar. Humans came to this bar as well, but honestly it wasn't hard to pull the wool over a human's eyes. They were just about the blindest and stupidest animals alive. They may have even been below sheep on the totem pole. At least a sheep could recognize it was stupid.

Clarence was nursing his third glass of scotch as he idly scanned the bar every so often. You could tell the creatures that existed throughout the bar pretty easily. Vampires were the beautiful ones. Werewolves were the burly ones. Witches were the psychotic looking hags. Skinwalkers were the ones that looks uncannily like tv stars. Humans were the stupid cattle wondering around like they weren't the dinner. Anything else was so below him, Clarence didn't care to notice them. It was quite amazing though to look around and see all of the different species, and think that humans honestly thought they were the highest beings around.

With another long sigh, Clarence turned back to the glass before deciding to finish it off. The attentive bartender came over and slowly poured him another scotch over ice. "I'm lacking excitement, so maybe a little liquid courage will help me get out there more." Clarence said softly as he eyed up at the creature pouring his scotch. "Here's hoping. You are dragging down my bar's vibe."The bartender replied back with a lack of enthusiasm.

Andrei let out a heavy sigh pulled into a parking spot. He shoved his keys into his pocket after getting out and made his way to the door of the bar. He had had a long day. A little time with his friends and a strong drink would be nice. The young werewolf paused as he entered the bar. He looked around to see if any of his friends were there yet. He was the first one there.

Andrei made his way to the bar. He knew his friends wouldn't have a problem finding him if he was sitting there rather than somewhere else. He plopped down on a bar stool on the opposite side of the bar as Clarence. Hmm. He's attractive. he thought to himself. He knew instantly that he was looking at a vampire. They were hard to miss. Vampires were always perfect. It almost made him sick. They always thought they were above all the other races and it annoyed the s**t out of him.

Once the bartender noticed him, a smile crossed his face. "Hey man! How's it going?" he asked as the man approached him. Though he had just moved from Russia two months earlier, Andrei new the bartender rather well.

"Hey, Andrei. Haven't seen you in a while. What can I get started for you?" the man asked.

"Hmmm. I think I'll have an applesauce...and can you make it kinda strong?"

The bartender nodded his head and began to make Andrei's drink. "Had a long day?" he asked as he placed the drink in front of the werewolf.

Andrei sighed and nodded his head. "Yeah. I got into it with my sister earlier. She's getting on my nerves. She keeps treating me like a child and is being way too protective. I'm surprised she didn't throw a fit because I was going out tonight" he said with a soft chuckle. He took a sip of his drink and smiled. It was perfect. "Damn that's good. Thanks" he said with a smile.

"Glad you like it" the man replied. "I'm sure she's just trying to make sure you're alright. You haven't been here for very long" he said with a shrug. His attention was soon dragged away as he heard angry voices. "If you need anything, just let me know. I need to make sure a fight doesn't start" he said before walking over to a vampire and werewolf who were getting into an argument.

Andrei watched the two. He was glad the werewolf wasn't from his pack. This was his relaxing time. He was glad he wouldn't have to step in if anything happened. I wonder what caused them to get into it. he thought as he took another drink.

Clarence watched with slightly squinted eyes as the bartender walked away. He didn’t want to admit it, but he was jealous of the newcoming werewolf. The skinwalker seemed so much more relaxed and open towards the werewolf. They seemed like friends, despite their different races. Clarence didn’t exactly hear everything they were saying. His hearing was pretty good, but the bar was also getting quite rowdy. From what Clarence could hear from the raised voices, it seemed like some classless vampire clan was challenging a hotheaded werewolf clan. That was a pointless war that had been raging for centuries. Clarence didn’t see a real reason to just hate werewolves just because they were a werewolf. When you boil it down, neither vampires nor werewolves were really above one another.

Clarence tried to listen beyond the arguing. He wanted to hear what the werewolf and the bartender were talking about. It probably didn’t make a lot of rational sense, but Clarence always enjoyed just listening to conversations. He didn’t get out much. He didn’t really get to be a part of much outside of his legacy. But he wanted to. He wanted to be a part of something. He wanted friendships that weren’t with cranky, old vampires. He wanted something new. He had been craving excitement for decades now.

He never was able to click back into the conversation, because it was over before he got the chance. Of course, he only realized this when he stared over to the werewolf. It had seemed that the bartender had left him, and now he was just sitting at the bar by himself. He knew he probably should have looked away, but he couldn’t. His icy blue eyes found the werewolf interesting. He was definitely more interesting than anything else in the bar. Most of the werewolves never split from their pack. Like small children, they cling together for protection and comradery. This one wasn’t though, or at least, he currently wasn’t. He was alone, and not even nervous about it. Maybe the bar atmosphere enough was comfort for the creature, or his pack just hadn’t arrived yet. Either way, it intrigued Clarence enough to watch him, rather than the fight.

Andrei watched the fight as he sipped his drink. He wondered who would win if a physical fight broke out. He knew the bartender wouldn't let that happen though. After a few moments, the fight was broken up and the two went to opposite sides of the bar. The young werewolf sighed softly, wondering where his friends were.

The dark haired werewolf soon noticed he was being watched. The vampire on the other side of the bar was watching him rather closely. This made Andrei nervous. He wasn't really a fighter so he hoped that the vampire wasn't thinking about trying to start something. He decided to play it safe and be nice to him.

As the bartender returned, Andrei had finished his first drink. "Can I get you another, Andrei?" the man asked as he approached him. Andrei nodded, looking at the bartender as he approached. He kept the vampire in the corner of his eye, wanting to keep an eye on him. "I don't know what he's drinking, but get him another on me" he said, giving a slight nod toward Clarence.

The bartender raised an eyebrow as he looked back quickly. "You be careful, Andrei. He's a vampire, y'know" he said as he sat Andrei's drink down in front of him. He then started to make Clarence a drink.

"I know. I'm just being nice. He's been watching me for some reason" Andrei said, dropping his tone as he spoke. The bartender nodded and took the drink over to the vampire.

"I think you're making him nervous. If you're interested and don't have intent on harming him, why don't you just go talk?" the bartender said with a soft chuckle as he sat the drink down in front of Clarence. "Oh yeah, this is from him" he said, motioning to the drink.
