It was strange to see the angel of diligence sitting still in one spot, in fact...even more strange she seemed to be out of breath. Her eyes were wide as her small hand was clutched just above her chest where her heart may be. Leaning against a wall as if her strength was failing her, her wings too heavy to lift sagged and soon she too was sagging. Slipping down the wall and to the ground shivering violently.
What was happening to her? Granted she hadn't been feeling the greatest as of late but what was all this now? She could barely lift her legs, she felt cold and hot all over, she wasn't sure just how long she had sat there before she heard a shout of alarm.
People had gathered around her and suddenly she was being lifted, what was happening? It all felt very surreal. The world was blurry and so where the words people were shouting. She wanted to protest she was alright, this would pass...but she couldn't find the words and soon darkness over came her.

Mr. Vampy stood on the other side of a glass window peering into the room where Polondraeli was laying in her unconscious feverish state. He wore a mask over his mouth, it seemed strange a man like him would fear a little cold. He looked over to where Aden was, gesturing to him to come over before he looked back into the room.
"How is she?" He inquired mostly worried about the state of the facility missing an angel more than anything else.
He had asked for Almas to come as well, mentioning to put on a mask as he feared the nature of this sickness and he didn't want others contracting it. Perhaps Almas could have some insight into what an angel of diligence could possible catch.

I was put in charge of keeping an eye on the care given to the Diligence Angel Polondraeli who we call Pol for short. It is a strange thing, according to Aden her fever seemed to come on strong, rising rapidly to a dangerous degree where he had to help her to cool off by covering her with blankets that were wet down with icy water to prevent her from over heating.
He is tending to her even now with help from his right had man, a tech and geneticist called Krijio, who was called in just in case it was a genetic disease because such a thing would mean that all of her children that have been born would be at risk. Krijio is running tests and we await the news.

The disease that Pol has contracted seems to be an isolated incident, it hasn't spread to any of the other angels despite the fact that we have had the techs keeping a close eye on them. I had Krijio test Beryl's blood long with that of Pol to make sure that it wasn't something that was genetic and something that might pop of her in children, from what the results say it would appear that its something that is effecting only her.
Within the Labs there is only Beryl who shares the same blood as the woman and, despite the fact that I dislike the idea greatly, I have been informed that he is going to be a bit of a guinea pig. I wonder at times if I was given the kid as a punishment for flirting around or because the Boss wanted more spawn running around in the facility that could be used for testing purposes.

Pol's vital signs remain steady, her fever has lessened, though only a touch, and she has yet to wake up leading me to fear that the end of the disease might be a coma. I can only hope that its nothing of the like. She was moved into a quarantine room, keeping her far away from anyone else other then myself, Krijio, Almas, and my son.
Its been twenty four hours since Beryl was allowed into the isolation room with the ailing Pol and there has been no changes in him much to my selfish relief. He hasn't developed the same fever, hasn't slowed down in the least, his appetite remains the same, and despite seems to be bored out of his mind there is nothing suggesting that what she has is spreading to him. Perhaps it was something she ingested that was out of the ordinary? I will need to call for a list of all that was given to her to eat so that I can see if its a severe allergic reaction that she is suffering from.
I will allow Beryl to stay there for a while longer before I bring him out, just in case it takes a longer span then twenty four hours to catch the illness.

Another twenty four hours have passed, two days worth of waiting, while Beryl played within the quarantine room waiting to see if he would catch anything. I can't say I agree at all with these means, disliking the idea of bringing a child into all of this but its not my place to argue as much as I wished to. Today, after the boy was taken out of the room and given a hose down to get rid of any contamination that might be clinging to him after spending time with the unconscious angel. After his bath he ran off almost instantly with plans to raid the cafeteria... Aden was of a mind to chase after him but decided against knowing he had two days worth of energy to burn off.
I was allowed into the room to sit with Pol for a time, holding her hand, and talking to her. Aden says that people in a coma can hear those around them or so he believes, I am not sure if that is the truth but if it would aid in her recovery I don't mind trying it out. I want her to wake up, there is so much that has happened to our people who have stayed here, I want her to get better... I don't want her to end up like our other lost brothers and sister.

We ran all manner or tests without anything pointing us in the right direction and then, after a week, she woke up! She was her and yet not, her eyes seemed to have darkened to a deep brown, the same happened to her hair, and as she sat up her wings crumbled away into a pile of feathers that then in turn broke apart and vanished... It seemed to be a metamorphosis of sorts, like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly, but in this case she seemed to take a step in the wrong direction... she is no longer an angel, no longer celestial, she didn't fall according to what Almas tells me. Instead she seems to have become... human.
Her slowing down, her coma, it all wasn't because she was dying but instead because she was becoming something else. She isn't the first to do this either... I am in shock at what I am seeing, shock, amazement, awe. To think that they could become human. I saw J'her become as much, ascend from being a demon and change into a human, but never thought an angel could do the same. I will keep an eye on her for a time more to make sure that this isn't something that will spread to the other angels but for now I think that its over...

After a week of worry I find myself relieved to see that Pol is, in a manner of speaking, well. I find himself worrying about what Vampy is going to think but at the same time I don't think that he can be as upset about this as if there needed to be a hunt for another angel. The Messenger Angel Tahariel who came to stay here through the accidental use of the the portal by Zyane was fortuitous, she will be the perfect replacement for Pol so I can only hope that when the news comes of the change in Pol that Vampy won't have to much of a fit...
I won't be going to him straight away though, I will make a nice pot of tea, some of his favorite treats, once those are ready then I will bring the news to him, likely something that he will see as bad news I'm certain. I doubt very highly that he will rejoice over the fact that Pol is well but human even if we have Tahariel to take over in her stead.
