At first it had been just a nagging thought. Why was he here? Why didn't people pay attention to him? Wasn't he important too? Such thoughts had never entered his head before...but something weighed him down as of late. Heavy he didn't float unless he really focused on it. Due to this strange occurrence he didn't leave his room often. In fact he was thankful that they stopped having children visit because then he didn't have to show off this strange abnormality.
He had always been a recluse...but more so than ever he wanted nothing to do with anyone. He sat in front of his chess board. Him and ...Jhordaesaloria, they use to play often, a pain in his chest sprung up thinking about the angel. Jhor was gone. Taken by his brothers back home. At least that was what he had been told.
“Why did they rescue my brother and sister...but not me...?” Cestorloria asked in a quiet whisper, his hand moving forward as he moved the chest piece forward a square as if he was playing a game with someone no one else could see. Though the angels had not in the sense been true blood relatives he had been close to both.
His body shivered. Cestor was cold...always cold these days. Wrapping his arms around himself he sighed and gestured to the board.
“Y..our turn..”
There was a shifting of the darkness that seemed to have wrapped itself around Cestorloria, seeming to tighten its hold around the angel as though hugging him closer, "It is because they forget your here... my poor.. darling Cestorloria... if you just spoke up more often perhaps you would be remembered..." A voice whispered in his ear, sounding so gentle and soothing, as though the shadow felt bad for the situation that the angel was in. Alone and forgotten by even his brothers and sisters...
It was those like this angel, weak souls, that called out to him and he was drawn to them as though magnetized. Its hold shifted, hugging him when he felt the angel shiver in its grasp, "My poor... darling Cestorloria... are you cold? It is a touch cold in here... perhaps they have forgotten you again and haven't turn on the heat for you." The voice murmured, so quiet that it might just be a voice in the mind of the angel.
For a moment though that darkness seemed to shift, reaching out in a shadowy version of the angel's hand and moved a piece on the board slowly, "You shouldn't fret thought... my poor... darling... I remember you, I love you... and I will help you." It said, ever friendly, as though it had the angel's best interests at heart.
The angel was cold, though he had a suspicion it was due to the shadows presence that he always felt cold.
“Do you really think they did?” He asked watching as his shadow arm moved to shift a chest piece on the board. He felt the hold tighten around him like a chilling embrace, and yet everyday that passed he had gotten use to it, accepted it. If he wasn't losing his mind which he was surely starting to think, than this voice was his only friend in the world.
“Have you always been with me?” The angel inquired his ear wings close to his head as if he was nervous at the response. It felt like his other self had always been with him, and yet he was pretty sure that hadn't been so. Cestor wanted a confirmation, he could trust the voice...it said it loved him, it didn't forget about him like the others did.
The shadow shifted and allowed for its arm to withdraw to once more wrap itself around the angel, to snuggle him, and it gave a nod, "It isn't your fault... this power you were born with... its to keep you safely hidden away from those who might wish you harm... but at the same time it hides you from those who could care for you as well." The shadow said, lifting its hand to stroke it over Cestorloria's hair in a soothing manner.
"Have I? Yes... I have been with you as long as your shadow has been with you... in this place where darkness reigns I have just grown strong enough to do more then just follow you my darling love." It said to him, its hold tightened, giving the angel a squeeze before easing slightly to look at the board, "Its your turn, my darling love." It motioned to the board so that Cestorloria could take his next move.
It was that this angel was always alone, forgotten unless the humans wanted him for something. Poor Cestorloria needed a friend, needed someone that would never leave him, one that would help him, "You need only to come out of your shell and the won't forget you, won't use you. Your stronger brothers and sisters are escaping their hold after all... we just need to get you to grow stronger... until then though I will be here for you."
What his shadow said made sense, at the same time his powers weren’t so meek to be labelled as useless. Heck he could probably walk out of the facility and no one would notice. In fact the only reason they'd know he was amiss would be because of that barrier the man Vampy had put up around the perimeter would sense his aura.
At the prompting he lifted a hand and went to move a chess piece, he was losing miserably this long drawn out game.
“I don't want to be here anymore...waiting...no one is going to come and rescue me.” He murmured, his wings were pulled in tighter to his head. “I...I am worth it. I want to be seen..” The angel continued a golden feather falling from his ear wings to land on the table.
Hands going into fists he gritted his teeth and closed his eyes, “I..want to be seen!” he shouted suddenly his hands moving to under the table as he stood up suddenly tossing the chess game and table across the room in a loud crash.
The shadow gave a slight quiver almost like darkly colored Jell-O as Cestorloria spoke before it gave a rather sympathetic humming sound, "They won't come... after the last rescue I am sure the people here will ramp up security... besides... since your not a Princess you can't sit around waiting for a rescue. Best to act on your own..." The shadow said, noting but not commenting on how Cestorloria's feather had fallen... or how the color about them seemed to be less brilliant and golden.
"Or your certainly worth it... my darling Cestorloria... you just need to make others aware of your worth." The shadow once more twitched and felt... gleeful as the game that they had playing for so long now together was suddenly throw across the room along with the surface it had been sitting on, "Yes, yes... its time to be seen... don't worry Cestorloria... my darling love... I will be right here with you when you back your debut..." It said in a reassuring manner, ever helpful and affectionate, ever loving.
The angel took a deep breath, a few more feathers drifted from his ear wings as they had spread out in anger. Yes he would show them. He could shine just like the others, he was worth saving. Moving it felt strange and weird to have his feet planted firmly on the ground, and having been situated in his room for so long sitting his legs felt stiff and inexperienced holding his weight. Shaking hands went to open the door, light flooded his vision.
“Y..you won't leave me right?” He whispered seeking reassurance, it was a bold step..something he'd never done before. Wanting to be seen, to be recognized for his worth. Taking a swallow and a deep breath he strode forward, first on uneasy footing and then they became more sure of themselves. He swore the first person he came across he would make them notice him.
The shadow nodded even though it seemed to fade from view as they headed out of the room and into the brightly lit hallway, "Even if you cannot see me I will be here my darling love." It said in a soothing manner, finding a lot of joy in the fact that they were moving now. He wasn't sure how long he had been with the angel, since he'd slipped in through that portal that had been left open between Hell and... well this strange place where demons and angels lived together in a sense and had children in a weird, round about manner.
Now that they had left the darkness of the room they had shared for these many months the shadow was quiet but eager, it shifted a bit from time to time, giving Cestorloria a squeeze so he would know he wasn't alone as he moved forward to make himself known, "This is your debut you know, you should make sure that its something worth remembering." He murmured to the one he was wrapped around.
*****
Unknown to Aden he was about to become the first one that this new Cestorloria in the making would run across. He was on his way from the hospital ward to go and indulge in something that, as a Doctor, he shouldn't be enjoying. He was going to have himself a cigarette. He was well aware that it was bad for him given the job he did but that didn't matter, it was a calming, relaxing sort of habit. His hands patted at his chest to make sure he had a full pack as well as his lighter before heading for the door, whistling all the while.
The humility angel spotted the young doctor immediately, he felt his new wave of confidence crack.
"B..but what if he doesn't want to notice me?" He inquired softly unsure, feeling rather exposed all of a sudden. Why were his feet planted so firmly on the ground? He wanted to be floating. Ear wings tucking in close to his head he wavered, humming and hawing suddenly on the spot.
Swallowing he tried to confront his problem. "He..hello." He started with a very small wave. Despite his earlier temper tantrum in his room being outside the comfort of the four walls apparently meant he reverted back to how he was. Unnoticeable. Moving he found his feet slipping off the floor the tips of his toes only touching as he followed Aden as if hoping to be noticed.
The shadow quivered again, "Its a big first step... but you can do it..." The shadow murmured as Cestorloria moved away from the angel's quarters, glad to feel the change in the air as they moved away from the to pure feel in the air around that place. The shadow twitched again when it saw and sensed the first person that Cestor had come across and the shadow went silent to allow the angel to have his first moment of freedom from his virtue. He would leave him to enjoy his freedom from being constantly invisible and forgotten.
Aden found himself turning as he saw the one that was standing there, calling out to him and waving at him. He blinked a couple times before giving a smile, "Hey there, Cutie. Is there something you needed?" He asked, wondering what the angel was doing so far away from his room. He didn't really mind though, finding that he was quite a cute little thing. He wondered if he wasn't feeling well as that was the first thing that came to mind when ever anyone visited him, "In need of a Doctor for anything?"
The angel took a step back, he was not use to having people look at him so directly. To be acknowledged was new to him, but also encouraging. Swallowing he nodded his head and pointed to himself.
"You see me?" He inquired with a soft spoken voice, he didn't stutter, that was a good sign. The angel knew this was a huge step in finding his new way in life. No longer hiding in the shadows he was going to be noticed!
"You really see me?" Came the question as if to just make sure the doctor wasn't lying to him.
Aden starred for a moment at the brunette as he asked if he could see him, really see him. He blinked then lifted a hand as he forgot momentarily about the fact that he'd been heading on his way to get a cigarette as this seemed far more important. It was obvious the angel was sick, perhaps a fever? What if it were something worse though? He could have a problem that was more mental if he was worried about being invisible...
Regardless he started with the easier thing to test for as he reached a hand out to Cestorloria and placed it on his forehead, checking to see if he had a temperature. From the feel of it he felt as though he were the normal temp but at the same time he worried that perhaps angels had a little different physiology... not to mention the fact that it looked a bit like the feathers on his head were shedding.
"Maybe we should go to the hospital ward so I can look you over?" He suggested to the angel, wanting to give him a quick physical just to make sure he was alright.
The angel looked surprised and flustered, Aden was paying attention to him! It sent a small thrill up his spine, though it was quickly dashed with the thought that soon enough the doctor would forget he was there.
His heart nearly went to his throat when the doctor touched his forehead the contact was reassuring, it meant that the human could see him and was reacting to him. A few more feathers drifted from his ear wings when he flexed them slightly.
"O..kay, I..a..am fine t..though..." He protested.
Aden looked concerned, he said that he was already but he didn't quite look or sound alright. He had no idea how to tell if an angel was sick or to even know what sorts of illnesses that they could contract. Being without a lot of knowledge was a bit of a pain for the Doctor but he wouldn't let it get to him and he wouldn't allow his patient to worry either, "Even so its best we have you looked at." He told him, one arm wrapping around his waist, patting his side in a soothing manner as he led the way toward the hospital ward.
What he worried about most was the molting feathers, then again it could be like with birds. He could just be losing old feathers so he could the in turn grow some new ones, right? He supposed it was possible... He had no idea since he dealt more with humans then he did with birds, "How about you tell me how your feeling at the moment?" He asked of the angel as they walked along, hoping to get some insight into how he was feeling, what he might be thinking, and maybe he'd understand why the angel left the area where most of the angels, save for Sparrow, didn't really seem to step outside of.
Cestor gave a jump when Aden wrapped his arms around him, and patted his side in comfort and worry. He bit his lower lip, unsure, worried and scared. Why? He had never had someone pay this much attention to him before.
His mind was blank with panic. Suddenly he was being asked questions, and he felt elated. A strange feeling considering how his mind had just moments ago been spiraling down in panic.
"I...I am h..app...happy.." The last words were whispered as if he was too shy to really admit it. "S..sca..ared...too.." He murmured softly.
Happy and scared? Not exactly useful to trying to figure out exactly what was going on he thought to himself before he was leading Cestorloria toward the Hospital Wing of the Labs. It had been some time since he'd had someone like this in his part of the Labs and even then that particular angel that had been brought to the Hospital Ward had only made it as far has surgery, not having made it to recovery given that... something had happened in the surgery room that caused them to lose the Liberality angel entirely. That had been a strange day indeed and it was something he didn't want to have repeated.
"Come on, we will get you to where I can look you over, I promise that there is nothing there to be afraid of." He reassured the angel as they headed along, down the Hallway and to area where recovery was set up. It was a good sized room with various cots in it for people to rest on, his desk was off to one side, and there were plenty of cabinets and a fridge that held all of the items he would need for helping people with any minor injuries they might have, "Here if you want to sit on one of the cots I need to grab a couple things." He told the Humility Angel in a soothing manner, giving him a smile before he turned to step away from him, heading over to dig around through one of the drawers for a few things he needed.
Cestor swallowed as he was lead towards the hospital wing. Suddenly he found himself being directed to sit down into the chair. How did he get here so fast? He sad down dumbly and rubbed his arms as if he was cold.
He was nervous and scared, this was a horrible idea. He should leave. Yes...he wanted to talk to his friend...get reassurance but speaking to himself would seem like he was crazy.
"Are you still there?" He whispered lowly, clearing his throat as if he had a tickle stuck there.
As Aden moved away from Cestorloria the shadow seemed to twitch a little bite, wrapping itself more firmly around him, giving him a squeeze when it was asked it if were still there, "I am still here, Cestorloria." It whispered to him, "How is it? Are you happy now with your new friend?" It would appear as though despite being afraid that he was happy, he'd even admitted as much. The shadow's voice seemed to be something that was quiet enough that it was heard only by the angel that it was speaking with, watching closely as the angel seemed to be reacting in quite a powerful manner as he made himself known to Aden first and then perhaps the world?
The shadow squeezed him again then gave a twitch as Aden came back toward them, quieting down again.
"Alright, I got it. All I need you to do is hold this in your mouth under your tongue and it will take your temperature." Aden said to the Humility Angel, showing it to him before he held it out to Cestorloria, "Once its in your mouth just press this button here, once it beeps we will check it and see what it says." He didn't think that he felt warm but best to be safe.
The humility angel looked up at Aden when he approached again, he had wished to reply to the shadow but it was too late the human was already back. Looking at the thermometer to took it and then looked back to the human before he did as instructed and placed the item under his tongue.
He waited for it to beep and felt himself wondering why he was here again. Right, to get attention which he was getting plenty of at the moment. How...unnerving.
The item beeped from in his mouth and he pulled it out and looked it over. He didn't know what the numbers stood for so he handed it back to Aden.
"Am I okay?" He asked quietly.
Aden reached out to take the thermometer from his mouth, looking it over before he gave a nod of his head, "Yeah, it looks as though your temperature is normal." He gave him a smile before he set the item aside, "That's good, let's see..." He lifted his hands up to check his pulse, check his eyes by gazing into them, then moved to get his stethoscope.
"Alright, I am going to ask you to lift up your shirt so that I can listen to your heart and your breathing, alright?" He asked of him, giving a smile. He didn't want to startle the angel after all, not wanting to scare him. He lifted the item up putting the ends in his ears before he used his hand to warm up the other end so that it wouldn't be to cold on Cestorloria's skin.
The shadow shifted around the the Humility angel, twitching a bit, then seemed to grow a bit happy, "Allow him to do so, my darling love, he just wants to make sure that your healthy... Its a good thing, he is caring for you so well. He must truly like you, darling." It said in a reassuring manner, wanting for his beautiful angel to continue in his decent, one that the human Doctor couldn't begin to understand. All he saw was the fact that the angel seemed shaken and that his wings were molting, nothing more.
Aden paused, looking down at Cestor, "You say something?" He asked, having caught the voice of the shadow, just barely, and only due to the fact that he was listening through the stethoscope.
Cestor thought his heart would explode from within his chest. All this direct contact was something he wasn't use to. All this fuss over him was also foreign. Though he had never been one to complain his face went bright red at the request of lifting his shirt. Surely if he lifted his shirt the doctor would be able to see his heart thudding in his chest, he felt a bit lightheaded.
He nodded his head, though it wasn't to Aden but his shadowy companion.
"Ah...do..do I h..have to remove m..my shirt?" He managed to say when asked if he had said something. His face going a even deeper shade of red. That wasn't how he intended to say it. After all Aden had stated he just had to lift his shirt not remove it. He felt stupid and foolish and looked away from the mans gaze.
"N..never mind ..I am just a fool.." He murmured as he finally and slowly went to lift his shirt. It showed off his pale skin, smooth and hairless, another yellow feather seemed to molt from his ear wings.
Aden watched the feather fall down to lay on the angel's lap before he gave a thoughtful sound. If only he knew more about birds and what caused them to molt their feathers he thought to himself. If he knew of such things like that he would better be able to aid the angel who seemed to be having a hard time at the moment. Perhaps... it was something like shedding? Snakes shed their skin maybe birds molted feathers for similar reasons? At the same time they seemed to be falling out rather rapidly all of a suddenly... not something he'd heard about happening to any of the other angels which made him worry that perhaps it was an illness that only Cestorloria had... perhaps it would be best to isolate him from the others? Set him up in quarantine as they'd done with Pol?
"You don't have to take the shirt off if you don't want to, I just need access to your back." He said, pulling his chair over, setting into it before he pressed the stethoscope to the angel's back, listening to the sound of his heart for a moment, "Are you alright, Cestor? Your heart seemed to be beating rather quickly..." He murmured, sounding more then a little worried. His heart beat was so rapidly, "Can you take a deep breath for me? Draw it in through your nose, hold it in for a moment, then let it out slowly through your mouth." He instructed, wanting to calm the angel if possible... unless the rapid heart beat was a part of whatever illness he'd contracted. If so then that was a very bad thing...
He gave a smile as he looked up at the angel, "Its alright, no need to be so worried. Just take a deep breath, let it out slowly, and it will be alright. You just need to relax for me, Cestor." He told him, giving the angel a pet name like he did with a lot of the people he crossed paths with.
The Shadow seemed to go silent for the moment, the human was to close and as such it didn't want to allow its presence to become known. The human was blind to it so long as it remained still and silent but to much movement, noise, or anything else that could draw attention and its cover would be blown... not something he would allow for, not until the angel fell. In that last moment just as the angel feel there would be a shattering of what made him an angel... and the shadowy creature wanted that spark, it was something that could make it stronger and as a demon strength was what it desire above all else...
Oh...his back, now he felt even more foolish. Hanging his head the angel lifted his shirt so that the doctor had access to his bare back. Cestor shivered as his skin was exposed to the cool air. As he never tended to remove his clothes unless it was for a quick shower or changing clothes, it felt weird to be showing someone else his skin. What would Aden think of it? Would he notice that his back is smooth? Very pale as if he never went out in the sun?
Would he notice that his wings were clutched to the side of his head in nervousness? That the feathers kept molting down upon his lap and all over the floor? Would he think him a horrible angel for not taking better care of them?
Snapping out of his thoughts he tried to concentrate on the doctors words. He tried to take a deep breath though it was more of a wheeze, he had to try again this time following the man's instructions more carefully. Relax. He needed to calm down and relax which was easier said than done for him as he often just wanted to fade from sight. Much like this moment.
"Y..ou won't forget me will you?" He murmured nervously, shifting on the table worriedly. He didn't want to be forgotten. His hands shook slightly as he held onto his shirt.
The feathers were still falling... maybe he was sick with something that Aden didn't understand he found himself thinking. He listened to his breathing, his heart, then drew back, "Let's see here." He murmured in a thoughtful manner, "Lets think about this, if you were losing say... your hair, what could be some causes? Lets see... Old age, I don't know if that applies to your kind. Genetics... I don't think so. Stress, perhaps?" He was sure that being in this place must be stressful to the angels... he'd seen some of the stress that it could cause the humans and they weren't even the ones being used in the experiments...
He gave pause at the question, "Forget you? Naw, who could forget a cutie like you." He said, giving the angel a bit of a grin before he helped him to cover back up, able to tell that he wasn't exactly comfortable. The angels were likely all innocent, weren't they? They didn't seem as though they would be anything but that if they were angels after all. It was kind of... cute really, "You don't have to worry about me forgetting you, I have a good memory, I promise."
Whilst his brain was moving a mile a minute he was shocked out of his mulling by more questions. Wait what? His hair? He thought on it, celestial's lived longer than mortals, did they ever lose their hair? He thought on it...and he stroked one hand through his brown hair and pulled away with a couple of strands. Did this count?
"I...don't think we lose our hair..." He thought about it again, "Stress?" The angel asked. Was he stressed? Actually that made sense.
"Y..yes..I suppose I am..stressed...n..nervous...lonely.." Glad to have his shirt back down he rubbed his arms as if he was cold. He picked up a feather and held it between his fingers, it was as if the feather started to turn black in his hands. Startled he jerked his hand back dropping the feather.
As it drifted back towards the floor it returned back to its gold color...or did it ever change? Maybe he was seeing things.
"Di..d you?" He started but then stopped, surely Aden would think he was crazy if he mentioned it now.
Aden rose to his feet to go to one of the cabinets, opened it up to fetch a blanket, then returned. He shook out the blanket before he wrapped it around the shivering angel, "Lonely, huh? I can understand that. This place is pretty big, has lots a lot of people, but they don't exactly seem to be very friendly... Your welcome to come here any time you want to come and visit me. I would rather enjoy your company."
He wrapped an arm around Cestor so that he could pull the light weight angel to him, "Its going to be alright, you don't have to be lonely when there are plenty of people around that would love to give you attention and affection." He said, reassuring that he was going to be alright, that he didn't have to worry. He felt a little bad for the angel, he seemed so upset, so much so that his feathers were falling out, "Did I... what?" He asked, looking down at Cestor in a curious manner, wondering if he were alright. He felt a little worried for him, "Are you alright?"
Stiffening he didn't know what to say or do, every part of him wanted to revert to his old nature. Quiet and unobtrusive. Easily forgotten, you didn't get hurt that way. He didn't really deserve the attention after all.. He slowly began to fade or rather not fade but his ability to go unnoticed or forgotten was going into effect.
He knew Aden would forget he was there, and that he had even come across him. He felt his body shiver and shake even with the blanket he figured Aden wouldn't recall why he was holding it. But did he want this?
Cestor was an angel of humility, he never wanted anything in his life before...but now he really wanted to be noticed, have someone faun over him and tell him he was great. No because he was an angel...but for who he was.
He half turned in an attempt to get Aden to notice him he was desperate, something in him wanted to reach out and grab him and hold onto the man and never let go. Something apart of him was thinning... cracking... more feathers were molting as he turned.
Cestorloria was fading... something that the Shadow couldn't allow to happen, if he faded he might return to his normal self, that couldn't be allowed to happen. The shadow shifted a bit, tightening its hold around the Humility angel, hugging him, one shadowy hand stroking his cheek, "Don't do it... darling... if you fade away now then it will be all for nothing... you will go back to your dark cell, you will lose yourself again, please... my darling, my love... don't do it." The Shadow whispered in a rush, not wanting to let him escape back to being nothing more then an invisible angel, kept in a cage. He wanted his spark more then anything in the world, was as desperate for it as Cestor was to have people notice him, talk to him, care for him. What they wanted left their goals running in a parallel manner.
"He can save you... you just need to reach out to him, take his help... do it, darling!"
Aden starred down at the one in his arms that seemed to be growing fuzzy around the edges, something that made him stare a little harder, "Hey... Cestor? Are you alright?" He asked as a few more of those golden feathers seemed to fall away from his head wings... there weren't many of them left but under them seemed to be fresh, dark colored fluff. It looked a bit like what baby birds had when they were first born, interesting, "It almost looks... like your getting in new feathers, Cestor. They are very pretty." He said, having no idea what the change in color might mean.
The angel had desperately wanted to go back to normal, why had he started worrying about these things? His thoughts wavered when the shadow spoke encouragingly to him. It spoke truth, if he just went back to normal then he'd continue to sit in his room playing chess with no one. Things just weren't the same since Jor had left.
It was the last words, the loving sound in it that pushed him over the line. Rather than this feathers molting they all suddenly looked as if someone had drenched them in black ink.
Drastically he was in focus, solid and there, his hat fell off his head as he turned to face Aden his arms wrapping around him tightly and he pressed his face into his chest.
"Please, don't leave me. Notice me...forever."
Aden's eyes widened behind his glasses before he gave a smile and a chuckle, "Of course, your more then welcome to stay here with me if that's what you would like." He said, wrapping his arms around the smaller male that was hold into him, hugging him close, hand patting his back. He'd never met someone so desperately clingy before, someone that seemed to need him so much and made him want to look after him as he looked after Beryl... strange. Especially given that Cestor was a cutie. Maybe after he was feeling better he would feel the urge to flirt with him, for now though he just wanted to look after him.
"Stay here as long as you like, Cestor, I would enjoy the company." He said gently, noticing how the shield that was around the angel seemed to have fallen away from him, noticed how his feathers, all of them, were looking rather inky black all over. Pretty in a way but at the same time had his eyes going a bit wide, "Wow, look how pretty your feathers turned, Cestor."
That flickering of power, the way that he came back into focus, how his feathers went dark, normally there would have been a shattering of his angelic powers that would alert Vampy to exactly what was happening... but this time around if the man was paying attention instead it would be just like the power had... vanished. In a way it had as the flickering light was suddenly swallowed up as it separated itself from Cestorloria, not longer able to return to its source, as it was devoured by the hungry shadow... In devouring it he would get what he wanted, more strength, and and aura all his own. Not to mention the small, dark colored, vaguely humanoid creature, various shades of black and grays, suddenly came into focus where he was clinging to Cestor. His new aura would make it blatantly obvious to the one in charge.
Aden found himself starring down at the little thing, eyes going a little wider, "Ahh... huh...?" He murmured, lifting a hand up to poke up at it causing it to give a little meep sound.
Cestor felt the creature being lifted and he felt, sad? No... he felt angry. He reached out to take Shadow back from Aden cradling it like it would a baby or rather an over sized one. It occurred to him that Shadow being here was a bad thing. Now that..he could be seen...that meant Vampy would be able to sense it too.
"I ..." He started before looking down at Shadow. "We need to hide him... Mr. Vampy will kill him." The now fallen angel made a strangled sound at the word kill as if he didn't want to utter it. "Please... I have to find a safe place for him..." He whispered desperately to Aden, "I promise I'll do whatever you want...just..help me?"
Aden watched as Cestor took his friend... pet... thing back and he smiled. Wow, interesting to see him possessive of something since he hadn't seen an angel like that before. His smile fell when Cestor was suddenly frantic to hide his little pet, saying that it was likely that Vampy would kill the thing... and he could see that happening, "Your probably right, come on. We will find it somewhere to hide." He said as he pushed up to his feet, setting Cestor on his feet.
Now, where to bring it that Vamp might be less inclined to look he thought to himself as he turned and headed for the door to the room that they were in at the moment. A safe place to hide a small creature, it took him a moment to decide before he thought of one. Perhaps the observation room that allowed people to watch Torekane swim? The stronger aura of that demon should surely smother out the one of this little creature? He hoped so at least as they headed down the hall and in that direction...
Cestor looked surprised at Aden's suggestion, it never occurred to him to hide the smaller demon near a bigger stronger demon. It made perfect sense really, like trying to find a needle in a haystack. He brightened, and then fell...that also meant they had to get from here to there.
"We would have to move...quickly...and now....I don't want Vampy finding him.." Cestor pleaded more so looking nervous as if the Boss would find them as soon as they stepped out of the room if not sooner.
Filled with nervous energy he went to stand very close to Aden as if hoping being near him would offer enough protection from Vampy's wrath.
Aden looked down at Cestorloria for a long moment before he looked back and forth down the hallway before hurrying along, moving as quickly as they could toward where the large aquarium had been made for the Gluttony demon. It did make him wonder how such things, that aquarium as well as the greenhouse, had been built so fast, but he wouldn't question it since it was quite convenient given the demons that showed up and were in need of such terrain to live in.
The hallways felt like a maze some days, it was only the fact that he had traveled them so often that he was able to find his way around so easily, "Almost there, just stay close and... well... hope that our Boss is on one of his tea breaks with Almas." He told Cestor as the two of them hurried along with the little shadow creature that was clinging to the dark winged angel. He would check on the pair from time to time to make sure that they were alright, that they were keeping up, and nobody else was following after them. Luckily for him the techs seemed to avoid him as much as they avoided Enki to keep from having to talk with him.
The fallen was surprised at the information, Tea breaks? That evil man drank tea? He guessed everyone had to have their hobbies but that one still was... a bit what? What did it matter really? He was moving as fast as he could trying to stick to Aden like glue as he had never really ventured outside of the celestial wing before now.
He was nervous and frightened and clung to Shadow as if he was protecting a young child. Though he didn't realize that the small creature was the reason why he had lost his powers, perhaps he'd of viewed the creature differently if he had known.
When they arrived he was reluctant to put the shadow down as if expecting the poor little thing to be swallowed up instantly and be gone. He looked around nervous hearing only the ripple of water and seeing the gluttony demon this close..he thought he'd be more afraid. Instead he was more fearful for the little guy in his arms.
"Do..do you think he'll really be safe here? What will he eat? What if he gets cold?"
Aden closed the door after they went into the dark observation room, looking around for a moment before turning on the light. Almost the moment it was on Torekane was there, stuck to the glass, watching them. He didn't have company as often as he would have liked, the one that visited most often was Beryl who was often stuck to the side of the tank starring at him while Torekane starred back. The Doctor gave a wave before looking back at Cestor, "It will have to work for now, until we are able to find a better cage place for him." He explained, "As for food... and if he gets cold, we can always bring food to him as well as a blanket. The little thing is small so I'm sure that it doesn't need a whole lot and now he has a bit room to roam around in."
He looked at the shadowy thing in Cestor's arms before giving it a nod, "You need to wait here and we need to go, I am sure the Boss will be noticing something is up and its best that we aren't here when he finally makes his move or he will find you." He told the creature, "We will have to leave it here and then come back later."
The little creature didn't like the idea of staying where a larger demon would be starring at it all day... but better then being killed by the one called 'Mr Vampy' at least. The thing looked up at Cestor and smiled, "You have a friend now, Darling." It murmured, glad that Cestor too had gotten something out of the time they had spent together. It had gained the power all demons hungered for and in exchange Cestorloria got the company, friends, and acknowledgment he had wanted.
"Yes, I will be a good friend to him, now come on Cestor." He said, reaching out to offer him a hand.
Cestor looked unsure, finally nodding his head and setting the small one down and giving it a small loving gesture on the head with his hand before slowly retreating back to Aden's side.
"Be careful, don't talk to anyone... they might report you to Mr. Vampy... stay hidden we'll be back to get you more comfortable." He encouraged a small smile on his face at the small creatures words. He supposed he was right Aden was his friend right?
Feeling happier now he took Aden's arm and held it tightly, he was still unsure about everything. His falling...what caused it, and wither he should be worried or not. Cestor supposed it was too late to worry, though he stumbled a bit as wasn't quite use to walking on the ground yet. Giving the man an apologetic smile they then continued back to the labs to figure out their next move.
