Ok so yesterday night I found out one of my cousins and her four young kids where killed in a car accident. The husband lost his wife and kids and my whole family is having a really hard time with this. Yesterday night felt like a nightmare and I couldn't stop shaking because it felt like a movie, nothing felt real.
So this brings me to the question. Do you think God took these 5 family members from us as punishment, a test, or something else? I want to know what you think.
Oh and I would appreciate it if you could pray for the husband because I'm sure he is taking this really hard. Thank You.

Honestly I find it more accurate to say test. Even so there is the possibility of it having nothing to do with testing or punishing... just that it was their unfortunate time to go.

I don't think its punshiment. God is not vengeful like that.
(more honestly, I would say its more a human error thing.)
It could be a test, but....I dunno.
I agree with thaskarin, it could have just been their time to go.
What happened? Was there a drunk driver involved/any other driving thing?
I'm sincerely sorry for your loss. : (
I have lost a few family members myself to
sudden death. I hope you and your family find peace. <3

No one can really tell you why something tragic like that happens; Only God knows. Just remember that nothing happens unless God permits it or wills it. So for some reason, God let this happen. We just need to trust that God loves us and that the seemingly bad things that happen in our life are for a greater good. In the end, it's all part of His grand plan.
I am so sorry for you loss, that is truly tragic. I'll keep all of you in my prayers. heart

Sadly as in life there is death. God is not testing anything of you or anyone for that matter. God is love and cares for us each in the same way. I know it is hard because pain makes us look up and say to God Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani? But it is not a test, all you can do is be thankful for the time you have been given. Try your best to be strong for the man who will need a shoulder to cry on and a kind word, I am sure quite often. I am sorry to read that this has happened, it is always sad one someone dies let alone five people. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I feel like a lot of time our culture tends to say "Everything happens for a reason", and tends to get in the mindset that God causes everything that happens, and that I don't think causality for everything should be attributed to Him. We do have free will after all. We sin, but God doesn't cause us to sin, nor does He want us to. But He brings good things out of the bad that we do, and the bad that happens to us.
Just because God allows something to happen doesn't mean he causes it to happen, so don't look at this like a situation that God caused because He wanted to punish or teach you. Sometimes bad things happen, because we're a broken, sinful people that God has given free will, so we cause bad things to happen. He doesn't want pain to come into your life or your family member's lives, so try not to look at this as a situation that God caused or wanted to happen; look at it as a bad situation that He can still use despite the hurt of it to cause good to come and to give you an opportunity to glorify Him.

I would not turn the death of a family into a test given by God, who is love. It is a result of choices, and not necessarily the wrong ones. We all have our time to go, and it is a great mystery as to when and why. Just have faith that your family has passed and will be joining the Lord in heaven. He did not cause it, but He will give them, and your family here on earth, healing if you let Him.
