Old Name: Liu Sheng (Beautiful Voice) It wasn't his birth name but the one given to him by his Master and the one he was called most of his life and refers to himself as while he is walking around during the Ghost Festivals.
New Name: Fei Niao (Little Bird) He will retain his singing voice from is previous life and be dubbed this by the one that will be raising him.
Past Gender: Male(ish) he started off as a normal male when he was born and ended up a eunuch. He was told that it would help to preserve his beautiful singing voice way that his Master wanted it. Given that the man didn't want for him to lose the tone of voice that he enjoyed so listening to when he went through puberty he made sure that he wouldn't through that surgery.
Current Gender: Will end up male, though a rather pretty one.
Incense Colour: Light Purple just as the rose is colored.
Lotus Boy Appearance Ideas:
~ Fox eyes for his first stage as I find that look adorable though they will be purple were he to open them.
~ long hair that is the same purple the color of the rose petals, tied back in a pony tail, a bun, or some other swept back out of the way style.
~ simple clothing as he will be raised by a traveling monk that happened by the town where Lien Si is who ended up picking up the lotus blossom.
Old Appearance: A very effeminate male, dressed in regal garments, a lot of make up to make him appear as more female as was the way that he wore his hair, the way he walked, and presented himself. He had dark eyes that were always closed when he was singing, as though dreaming of being anywhere else but where he was, and a bit of a sad look to him when he wasn't performing.
He was very much a bird in a gilded cage longing to be free sort.
Guardian: His guardian this time around will be an older, traveling monk that will take him under his wing. The lotus boy will aid him in his travels as well as anything else that the man might need of him. He will be a errand boy sort, running here and there for a man that can't quite move as quickly as he used to when he was younger. The man might be old but he seems to have no desire to stop traveling any time soon, having far too many important things to do.
I am thinking that at some point the man might pass away and if that idea ends up happening he will be picked up and taken care of by Dao Ye Shou and Fu Ts'ang, the latter of which he spent a lot of time with during the Ghost Festival and while he won't remember him per say he will find himself drawn into following him around as he had during that event.
