This had been the first time that his father, Ren Si had let him make a delivery on his own. Ever since he had come to live with his father and mother he had gone every where with his father and learning all he could of his craft as a silk maker and merchant. Right now he would watch the silk being made but he still didn't know enough to do it himself, but thinking himself that one day he would make something from start to finish.

Tian Tu had promised his father that he would be careful on this delivery as he knew where he was going since it was going to one of the shops frequent shoppers and this was some custom work that was finished and just had to be delivered. So he had taken the wrapped up silk and stuck it carefully into his sack and then left at sorta a run to his destination.

As luck would have it another lotus child was out today on a somewhat similar errand though he was delivering a jade sculpture instead of silk. It was a small one but it was an important one, a beautiful bird that his father had been working on for some time that was going up in the window of a small shop that was located not to far from where his father set up their booth when it came time to sell random pieces, mostly jewelry, to passersby. He shifted his bag on his back, looking over his shoulder at it to make sure it was all settled and secure, before he headed out, "It's always quite exciting to go on these adventures." He said, glancing over at little Lan who was sitting on his shoulder looking around the area as though surveying his domain. That arrogant look was something Bai Mei would never get used to given that the little dragon wasn't even the size of his forearm yet, "Little Lan, try to smile and look cute, it will get you more treats." He told his companion before they were on their way toward the merchant row.

Today was a busy sort of day, something that was nice as it allowed for him to all but disappear in the crowd of people that were out shopping. The more strangers from out of town here to buy things the better if you asked him, that meant more people that didn't know all the silly rumors about his family... though he supposed a few of them were spot on. Mostly the ones swirling around Bai Mei himself, but the ones about his father were just silly given that the man was far from a fox spirit. He was as human as any of the other villagers but they refused to believe it due to various circumstances that had arisen since the man had moved here many years back. He shrugged off his worry about those that spread the rumors since nobody was really looking his way today, and those that were seemed more interested in Lan then anything. He really was curious how many people could see them and how Lan decided who could see him and who couldn't. He'd love to ask him but thus far he didn't seem to be able to talk. He was told by his father that it was because he was just a baby, which was true. He had just hatched, hadn't he? It wouldn't be very nice of him to try to rush his dear little companion.

At a crossing of busy roads Bai Mei gave pause, reaching into his pocket to pull out a scrap of parchment, to read over the address he was looking for, turned in the right direction, and started forward, humming to himself as he went, "Once we drop this off we will be going shopping, I need to get stuff for dinner." He told Lan who seemed to look more interested at the mention of food, already spoiled by Bai Mei's home cooking, just as Bai Mei's father was starting to get these days.

Tian Tu in his rush had forgotten the piece of paper that had the address on were he was suppose to deliver the silk too. But at least he knew to were he was going but he did slightly did get lost sometimes especially when it came to the crossroads. As Tian Tu navigate more on sight and familliar landmarks than addresses themselves.

Once at one of the crossroads and Tian was running a full speed and wasn't watching too close to were he was going. Just then he saw that he was going to run right into someone that was standing at the crossing. Tian started to put on the breaks, but still ran right into Bai Mei tho not at his full speed only just a fraction of it but it still was enough to get them both to land on the ground. "I'm so sorry about that. It was all my falt for not watching where I was going," Tian said quickly to the one he ran into.

Bai Mei looked a bit comical as he was bumped into, his arms flapping like a bird's wings as he tried to steady him, shaking up poor little Lan, and then landed on his backside with the other child in his lap. He sat there for a long moment, his yellow eyes wide, then gave a squeal as he shrugged out of his pack, pulled it into his lap, and checked the contents... then gave a sigh of relief when it seemed that the jade bird was fine, "Oh... wow... that was lucky." He gasped out, chalking it up to the luck that he'd been blessed with during the same festival that also blessed him with little Lan. He wrapped the statue once more, put it back in his pack, and only then did he looked toward Tian Tu and starred at him for a long moment then gave him a smile.

"It's alright, the statue is alright so there is nothing to worry about." He told him, hugging his pack to his chest. If the statue had been broken he would never have been able to go home again because he just knew that his father would be terribly disappointed, not to mention the customer would be upset with having to wait even longer for the statue that she'd ordered from Bai Mei's father. Dragging himself up to his feet, with little Lan scrambling up to wrap himself around Bai Mei's neck, the white haired boy smiled at Tian Tu, offering him a hand up, "Are you alright?"
