My girlfriend has a Betta in a fairly small tank (I think it's a 2.5) and she had been telling me over the phone for awhile that his fins were starting to get raggedy, being pretty much broke and completely swamped and stressed about other stuff she neglected it for awhile, I went over to her place the other day (She usually comes to me, so I haven't seen her fish in a couple weeks) and the poor little guy has some pretty advanced fin rot. His tail is almost completely split in half sad
I have her some Tetracycline and a rundown of how to deal with it, but I dunno if it's gonna make it. She asked me if I could adopt it for awhile while life calms down for her... and I think I may... anyhow, made me sad crying
Depressing pics to come...
If I do adopt it, this will be a project log of trying to heal it

Good luck, what ever happens. Fin rot can be hard to deal with. The best thing to do is gradually give him fresh water over the corse of a few days, then continue with the daily water changes, with some Stress Coat, or a simular product. Perhaps some Kordon Fish Protecor.

Poor fishy crying Hope it ends well. Like Akari said, gradually change out the water daily. It's amazing what that alone can accomplish sometimes.
