It came out when I was too young to give a toss about it.
I'd always wondered about it. I never really saw it when it was on TV years ago. My parents watched it. My mother had read the book..
So, Oxygen is playing it today in its entirety. I'm watching it, and wow.. What a turdburger.
Rachel Ward is the shittiest actress I've ever seen. Why was this such a big hit?

I remember the fuss about it when it came out, but I was too young to watch it. From what you say, I guess I didn't miss much.

Why was this such a big hit? I liked it. Of course I had, only a couple years before, worked for a woman who was Rachel Ward's dead ringer... body, voice everything. She was such a riot that I'm sure it made me biased.... I"ve always wondered wtf happened to Mary I adored the book and felt it was better than the series, however... as book usually are

I guess I was expecting something different.
I got into it, but there were times, especially when she was trying to act angry, where I understood why we haven't heard much from her since. xp

I remember the Thornbirds. The book was much better than the screenplay bcause it was too drawn out.... Back then I was a fan of Richard Chamberlain...
Wasn't to bad just too long... sweatdrop
