Ardrick looks up at the newly founded Lounge.
"Welcome, all ye. The lounge is fer all o' ye to tell o' stories past. Tell us o' yer adventures and o' yer coming to be a pirate. Come and listen to the stories and learn from them, what not ta do, and what ta do in certain situations."
He posts a paper on the door that says: "Must be 17 or older to enter. These stories may be too gruesome fer the young'ins."
"An' being as the lounge is just a building extension of the bar, you can easily access some rum if the stories be depressin'."

Ardrick walks up to the stage to give his story. Well... here it goes!My story:Ardrick's great, great, great uncle was actually the dreaded Captain Flint, captain of the Walrus. Ardrick was born in Ireland, but was moved to England short after being born. There, his mother died of sickness and his father died of grief for his mother. Being alone and having no family, he moved in with his only friend, Ardbob. He grew up in their house and when they were both 17 they moved out and tried to move on in life. They kept in contact, however. Ardrick tried to form a career, but was no good at doing anything normal. He was soon living on the docks in an alley. His friend Ardbob, however, was an animal capturer in Africa, for zoos that were being invented around the world. One day, Ardrick was sleeping on the docks when he heard a boat come into port. He awoke and stood up. The ship was bearing the Jolly Roger! He quickly hid in the shadows, but the ghostly man on the ship had already seen him. The man walked onto port alone. There was no sign of any crew. Calmly, he walked over to Ardrick, who couldn't move, even though he tried. The man grabbed him by the shirt and said, "Take the map!" Ardrick looked confused and mumbled, shaking. The man repeated it. Suddenly the man let go and walked away. Ardrick never saw that man again... however, the next morning, he awoke with the map in his lap. The whole next day, Ardrick neither ate nor slept, he only thought of what he would do next. He was in no position to be choosy. He had no money, no home, no job, and no life. He made his decision. Gathering a small crew of worthy sailors, he stole a ship, which he told them he bought. He told the sailors that he was going to pay them all at the end of the trip, instead of monthly. That way he spent no money in his doings. Then, he went to retrieve Ardbob. Ardbob was glad to see him and was surprisingly, easily convinced to join them. Apparently, Ardbob had dabbled in piracy before. They were ready. With the help of their treasure map and four long months, they found the treasure. They were rich as they could ever wish to be, their crew found out that they were pirates as soon as they arrived at the island to get their treasure, but few of them made any notion of mutiny. Some of the crew decided that they would just take their due gold and go home. Others were too raged to go with that and drew their weapons. However, Ardrick and Ardbob were skilled with both swords and guns. The mutineers didn't stand a chance and three of them died. After that, Ardbob and Ardrick seperated. Ardbob said he was retiring, but Ardrick wanted to just find a crew and go on more adventures. He first traveled to London and stayed in a small house there with his fortunes in the bank. He only had about 5000 Gold left. Then he got a letter from Ardbob in Alaska. He told him how he had been married and now retired in Alaska. Ardrick didn't think it was very fitting for a pirate, but had to go along with it. That's when he realized that he wanted to live the life of a pirate, but also wanted to retire. Luckily, by word of pirate mouths, he found the solution. Quickly, he moved to Isle de Provoka and formed a crew. George Frox and the First Trial

I've been writin' me stroies in me Journal, so's I suppose I'll repost zhem 'ere when ever I update me little book zoo. Here's me first page:
If ye were ta ask me 'bout my 'childhood' I would shudder. Ze plain zimple fact twas zhat I zid not 'ave ze kind of childhoods I read in ze books, with a mum an' papa, toy zhings an' firends, I 'ad none of zhose sweats zhings. Inztead I 'ad a cold hard women, round about an' unpleasant, I called it 'mum'.
Cold hard ztones. In ze zay ze light would bleed inzo ze small winzow, an' at night I twas lucky if ze moon could pass zhrough ze woods. Mum never trusted me wit ze candles. But zhere was not a zime were I had light at night, I was not afraid of ze zark, only what came from it. Every night zhey came, zhose horried zemons. Zhey could come up out from ze ground, zhose zall evil beings, an' pull from me zoul all my loneliness, my fear. Zhey zoke from me ze light zhat I knew was growin' inzide me everzime I wonzered 'ow nice it would be zoo go outzide, zo zee zhat zhing called ze oean, people, beautiful people, an' zee ze unzhinkable act of ze zun zettin'. Ze zhings I could not zee from my winzow.
I read zhat mum's loved ye, but ziz one only kept me alive. She wanted me zoo live zo zhat zhe could zee me suffer. I could zell, she sent zhose zemons. She feed me an' clothed me when I grew or zhey tore. Everyzay ze zame. She would bring me breakfast, zake it away. Bring me lunchoen, zake it away. Bring me zinner, empty ze camber pot, zake it away. Lizzle zid she zalk zoo me. Always zid she snear or yell.
When I was very very young I zhought I was loved. She would zit with me an' teach me, zhe would bring in books, my books, an' zake ze zime zoo figure out ze lezzers. She was only feedin' inzoo my pain.
I read, I read every book zhe brought me. Everyzime I read of adventures an' love, or ze outzide. Lizzle by lizzle I learn, ziz was not ze way one iz zoo live, unloved, caged an' used. I read ze stories zoo pass ze zime, hours, zays, weeks, mounts, me 'hole childhood, readin'. I read ze ztories zoo get away from ze life I was put inzoo, zoo be zomewhere else, zoo be someone else. I read to know. But ze more I read, ze more I longed, longed fer ze life I zid not own, zoo zee ziz great water, ze ocean, ze desert, an' zu zoo zomezhing.
Zhey came even more as ze zays passed slowly.
I always zhought zhat if I could zing just like ze birds, I could be free like zhem. Zhey would hop around at my winzow at ze zay an' zing. Zuch sweat voices. I could never underztand zhem. But zhey were lovely zoo 'ear. I would zing with zhem. Mum also liked my voice, zhough it was not as sweat as ze birds. She cage me an' would not let me free.
I loathed her. I zid not want her as my mum. I was curse by her, caged an' beaten, used an' broken.
Zhat's why I killed her.

Well, my story really doesnt start until the first ship... (note, most of this is from another site, from before I joined Gaia)
I was actually a captain for a while, but I gave that up as I was generally not a success at it. The first ship was the Skeletal Sparrow. Beautiful, big, huge white sails, 40 cannons, one of those ships pirates dream of capturing. It was my first time as a captain, and I sure had one crazy crew. None really had ever been pirating before, or indeed on a ship before, and it wasnt long until one of those bilge pumpers managed to spark the gunpowder. BOOM! I needed a new ship. We found one, christened it the Scurvy Taco (it was the first mate's idea) and set off for China in search of egg rolls. I should have realized with the first ship explosion that my crew wasnt ideal pirate material... but I didnt. And we ended up in Antartica. So I gave up, sold the ship, and set off for Provoka. I spent a while hanging about the docks, until I found a position as cook.

"Wonderful tales, all of you. I applaud Ardrick on this house." *Wickit goes to the fire place, throws on a few logs and tinder. Within a minute a comfortable fire is warming the room. He takes a poker and fiddles with it.* "I'll be telling you a legend of Provoka tonight." *He sits back in one of his favorite rockers, staring into the fire* "When we first came to this Island, the founders, their crews and some stragglers, we found the town already here. We quickly picked out our favorite buildings and spent about a month sailin in between Gambino Isle and this place, filling Provoka with supplies." *Wickit begins a steady rock* "Ovcourse I wanted adventure along with several of the other Pirates. Captain Cross and Bilious took charge of the town while Mae, Dagoth, myself and a few others (I beleive Master Kurisutofa was in their number) decided to search out the Island. We took interest first, in the low mountains at the north eastern side and went their first. We found an old Navy hold for emergency supplies and probably hidding treasure they didn't want the Crown to know about. It was farily empty now, some barrels of food and rusted swords and such were left. We decided to use this place as our Black Market and Bank." *He pears out the Window, looking at the Volcano* "When we were coming back I thought I saw somone. I follwed the person, telling the others to do as they please. Eventually I came to what looked like old ruins in the jungle at the base of that Volcano that shades us occasionally. They didn't look deserted, though I didn't find much of a trace of life. I did find records of the people and some of the ancient magics. It is said that a snake god had come to a village named Prova and devoured it. The people lived in its belly for a week untill they were dropped off in the jungle of this island. It slithered away into the mountain, and tunnled untill it reached the earths center. That is how the volcano formed, or so says the Procan records. The people had several elders. Some of the elders wanted to worship their good gods, but one of the elders, a shaman, felt that this snake they call "Zombie" (theres a bit of Voodoo culture in their by the way) was a great spirit that should be worshiped. There was a fight and eventually. This Shaman was famous for referring to the dark spirits and felt that voodoo should be the religion. "How can the great Zombie be bad? It took us from that hell and brought us to the wonderful Island!" He would shout. He went off with a few others into the volcano and apparently put a great curse on the people. They called themselves the Ogobou Bone Throwers. The Bone throwers attacked the Proca occasionally, but then slipped back into the Volcano and were never seen again. But the people worried that Zombie would come back for them. Some began worshipping the great snake out of fear, and they dissapeared after doing the shamistic voodoo rituals. " *Wickit peared back into the flames* "Later on the Navy of the Crown came. The savages were curious of these new white skinned people. The Navymen ovcourse saw these people as inferior, and put them to work. The elders told the people that that was the curse that they old shaman had put on them. Days went by, we don't really know what happened to the people. It says that they died out, but more then once when I have traveled into those Jungles I could swear I saw something. And now, so says Sam, the savages are back. It makes one think what parts of those legends were true... This Island is covered in their culture, purhapse those who have yet to see it can go on a feild trip. One thing we should question though. If the Proca really still exsist, what about the Ogobou Bonethrowers?" *Wickit lays back. His story was finished. He waited for the next tale*

Ardrick finds it hard to clap whilst holding a large piece of old parchment. Once Wickets leaves the stage, Ardrick finds his way on.
"Well... I went to me house earlier and went through me chest I got a hold of me old map that started all me pirate adventures. So I thought I'd tell you in detail my adventures in my first pirate adventure."
Ardrick unrolls the parchment to show everyone an amazing, yet complicated map to a hidden treasure in the pacific. He gives it to the front person to pass it around.
"Now ye better be careful with that! I'll let you all look at the map and then I'll get it framed and put it up with the paintings here in the lounge. For now though, I will tell you the begginning of how I formed the crew."
Ardrick sits down finally, still eyeing the map to ensure its safety.
A couple days after I had received the map I walked into the busiest pub in the docks. The ships had just pulled in and hundreds of sailors sat ready to join my crew. It turned out to be harder than I thought, though. I didn't tell any of them we were after treasure, because they were sure to see this was going to be a pirate crew and were unlikely to be joining me. So far I had a few sailors join, but then I made my way to George Frox. He told me, 'Ye complete me three tests an' aye'll join ye.' I merely laughed and walked away. Why should I bother with that when I can easily get sailors who don't require that. I was wrong though, because apparently George Frox held a lot of influence among the sailors. None of the sailors would even look at me after that and the ones who already joined me quit!
What was I to do, but pass his three trials? I'll only tell ye the first today. So off I went with George Frox. He said, 'The first test ye must pass is that of wit!' I had a notion I was going to pass this one with flying colors... boy was I wrong. He took a small rowboat and we rowed to a very small island where we sat on the beach. Frox said, 'There is an animal on this island that I met years ago. He's a very smart animal, but he has one flaw. I exploited that flaw an' still live today. If I come back tomorrow an' ye've made friends with the animals, then ye've passed the test.'
For hours, I simply walked around the beach waiting for the animal to show up. Suddenly though, out of the forest leaped a large black panther! Of all animals! He pounced on top of me and was about to go for my throat. This was harder than I had imagined. I used all my strength to push him off and stumbled away. He leaped for me again and and leaped out of the way. He missed me, barely. Now I stood staring it down. We walked in circles around each other waiting for the first man to make the move. Now was my chance to outwit the animal... but how!? Frox said he had one flaw... the animal pounced again. My instincts kicked in and I did the first thing I could think of, I sang.
Now, now... I had my reasoning. It's a bit cliche, but people always sing to animals and it calms them down! It didn't do that this time though. The panther landed in front of me and I continued singing. It looked almost in pain and ran back into the forest. I was still alive thanks to a horrible singing voice. I awaited Frox's return."
Ardrick smiles...
"To be continued."

"Poor Ardrick."
She shook her head.
"Well, I should continee wit' me story also."
The governor pulled out her journal an' read from the second page.
"Ze world was nozhing like ze books had shown me. I read zhose ztories but could never fully imagine ze greatness of zhings. Closer up ze trees were brustin' wit' life, an' zheir size were much larger zhen I've zeen from me winzow. I came zoo know zhat everyzhing is bigger zhen I zhought zhey were.
It zid not zake me long zoo find ze lizzle zown nearby where I figured mum would go zoo shop an' work. I really zidn't know what she even zid outzide zhat cage. Oh ze peepole, zo many peepole, children an' men, woman, animals, houses, ze brust of life around me waz zo overwhelmin'. I zoke ze world in, lizzle by lizzle, gaspin' at such zimple zights.
I wanted zoo zee ze ocean.
France, it waz called France. Ze land I waz at, where I lived, France. I traveled up, by wagon, paid wit' ze money I had taken from my mum. I hid ze money, I read people steal, mum had alot of money it waz even shockin' zoo me. As I traveled North zoo ze zhore I zaw ze slight change in ze land. I wased awed.
I zaw ze zun dip inzoo ze ocean far away. I wanted zoo reach ze horizon zoo find out where it hid. But peepole zaid many zhings. Zome zaid zhat ze world was flat, zhat ze sun would go under ze ground an' around back zoo ze ozher zide. Ozhers zaid zhat ze world was round, an' zhat by findin' ze new world was proof.
I had zoo know, zo I set out on a zhip zoo ze Spainish main, zoo a Frence port zomewhere South.
I zpent zhree months on zhat zhip, zeeing ze same faces, rooms an' sky. I felt zrapped but free. I waz ON ze ocean, ze great water. All around me all I could zee was ze line where ze sky met ze water. What grand zize indeed! I would watch ze zailors zoo zhere work on ze zhip, ze captain orderin' zham all around.
We ztopped in North America zoo restock an' rest our legs. Yes I admit, twas sick at zimes, oh how a zhip cun move! Zhen we zet off again zoo ze Caribbean.
I 'ad no izea wot I was zooin', I was tryin' ta find adventure, a home, love. All ze zhings I read in ze books. I never found zhem zhere.
I was zakin' inzoo ze care of Miss. Marly who watched over all ze homeless children of ze port. Her house was beemin' wit' lizzle ones, an' everyzay she would zit us all zown for our lezzions. But wot a lady, she found mum's gold an' took it all. She gave me my own room an' all, free will zoo roam an' go out whenever I liked, zo. She would feed us right an' all but I found a talent in thift. Henry got me started on it, but soon I became bezzer at it zhen him. He was my senior by two years, an' in him I found my family.
After zwo years or so we all 'ad ta go inzo ze forest an' live in tents. Ze Bristish wanted ta take contorl over ze port an' ze navy zhere stood tall. For our safty we were zent but we could ztill 'ear ze cannons boomin'. Zoon ze zown was taken over, an' I 'ad ta learn english. I'm ztill not good at it. I hated ze english, sucm. Zhey turned ze zown upzide zown an' zook a large percent of our exports. Everywhere ye went a naval officer was marchin' around. Me an' Henry found it very hard ta earn our livin'.
He was zent zoo work fer ze navy, ze English navy. Poor lad.
I was not goin' ta ztand it any longer.
Wit' ze loot I had gathered slowly I castawayed onzoo a zhip not carin' where it left me.
It zook me zoo ze Whale's Hump."

Emerging out of the shadows Dr. Morgan frightens several people with his sudden appearance. Having been trained as an assassin had it's perks.
"Captain Wickit, tha' were a ver' intrestin' story ye jes' tole. Pr'aps I kin illum'nate a few things fer ye. I 'ave eyes in th' fores', so tae speak, an' I knae things tha' nae oth'r save th' gods 'emselves knae. Th' curse be back, an' in a form tha' th' islan' 'as nae seen afore, leas' nae in such amoun's-"
He pauses momentarily for dramatic effect.
"-Gold. Th' mountain be teemin' wit' it, or so says wha' I've found in me time alone in th' woods. I'll say nae more than this - I be nae th' onlae one tae fin' this ou', an' th' oth'rs 'ave been far fr'm silen'. E'en as I speak, there be foul men plottin', schemin' far from this place. Ye call th' Proca savages, ye shoul' meet Francis Meurtre, 'e be th' wors' o' th' lot."
As he says the name, his hand tightens on the hilt of his sword.
"Too long I 'ave been silen' abou' such things, bu' soon, I shall be tellin' all. Fer nae, though, I shall be conten' tae listen tae th' res' o' yer tales, specially if'n ye 'ave any more tae tell abou' th' Ogobou Bone T'rowers. Tha' be one o' th' many par's o' th' island's pas' I knae li'l abou'."

The Tale of V. Daithes
Born in the year 1689, Vincent Daithes was the son to a wealthy Danish family. His mother, Anique M. Daithes, was a kind hearted yet somewhat clingy woman who dedicated her life to make others around her happy. His father, Mortimeir Daithes, was a businessman who played in the affairs of the Danish social life in Copenhagen. Being born into wealth, Vincent was spoiled as a child and got some of the best schooling the country had to offer. He did, however, developed a grudge with his elder brother, Andrew. Over time, the grudge would escalate to the point where the brothers would practically try and kill eachother, but that is besides the point. At the age of six, Vincent became aquainted with the work of his father. He learned that his father dealed with shipments and other sorts of merchantile work, and soon began to 'try' and follow the footsteps of his father. In 1697, the family took a trip to southren Italy, were Vincent discovered the life of the poorer people of the world. The streets, being infested with the homeless and hungry, made Vincent realize that all the things he had attained in his life thus far, were, taken for granted. But, as fate has it, things were about to take a turn for the worst.
It was on the trip back to Copenhagen, the Daithes family was attacked by a small group of theives. His father, to the best of his strength, tried to mend off the attackers. His fate was sealed when one of the attackers knifed him, and his wife was brutally raped and then decapitated with the remaining money they had with them along with the carriage they rode in was stolen. Only Andrew and Vincent, who had took to their fathers warning to flee, survived. Andrew, being heir to the Daithes fortune, took a firm grasp of it, and left none to Vincent. They returned home, and Vincent became further disgusted with his life. Having given thoughts to suicide, he took to drinking. Mind you, he was only eleven at the time. The greif he endured was too much for his age, and, because of this, decided to kill his older brother.
It was on the night of March 31st, 1703, that Vincent went into his brothers study, and with a knife, stabbed him. Assumed dead, Vincent never gave forethought about covering up the crime. So he fled the family mansion, taking with what things belonged to him and headed into the inner city of Copenhagen, were he got a job as a dishwasher boy at a pub. He called himself Daniel Vilofsky, and stuck to the name for the next five years. While working in the pub, Vincent became aquainted with many merchants and townsfolk, and soon found himself in a position in which he could afford a small room at the pub. But, again, fate took a turn for the worst.
It was in the winter of 1708, that the pub was pillaged by a group of angry peasants. Vincent, afraid of facing the conflict, fled to the harbor, where he boarded a ship bound for a island somewhere in the mid-alantic. Once he reached the island, he boarded another ship, and then another, and another. A process that took five years for him to reach his desired location. During those five years, he witnessed countless events, such as a massive Kraken battle and a mutiny which caused him to turn off course for six months. Finally, while docking at Bristoll, he came to hear word of a land that was heard to be full of great riches and paradise. Taking no further course of action he lept aboard the chance to find such a land, and waited a long while for the right ship to come to port. When it did come, he went.
"...and that, my good lads, and lasses, is how I came to be here."
