On the basis that most threads for talking about specific books get, like, no posts, here's a thread on a genre.

I am reading the Mysteries of Udolpho. It is good, although Radcliffe's use of commas confuses me sometimes. Also I am up to page 140 and no place called Udolpho has yet appeared and the person I suspect to be the main villain has said like two words.

I'm reading the small book of "The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" for my English class. Due to the fact that it was written in the 1800s, it's a bit difficult to understand some of the language used (yet I understood a majority of Shakespeare? o.O). 'Tis a good book though, I just need to re-read it both for my upcoming exams and so I can understand it a bit more, delve deeper into the plot that Stevenson had created and to enjoy the book itself. It kind of ruins the plot when I know that Hyde and Jekyll are linked right from the start ._.

I think with a lot of older books, it's more about the way the story is told than the story itself. Keep in mind that we're all familiar with Jekyll and Hyde anyway, and readers at the time wouldn't have been. I think I have Jekyll and Hyde somewhere.... but I've no idea where. I seem to remember reading a bit of it on a plane at one point. I don't think I got too far though.
