Hellur :3 Iv had my little mr.superman for almost three months now and hes gotten big and long since he first arived at home. Hes a plaket ( i think thats the breed ) Betta fish bright red , low blues and dots of yellow. ( hens superman cause there his colors lolz ) I was wondering something besides just introducing myself. is bamboo a acceptable live plant for a tank ? hes fed hikari pellets , tank cleaned every three days , heater that stays roughly at 63 to 76 dagreas and soon a small filter for a five gallong vertically long square tank with marbles to keep his active eyes entertained by shiney colorful things.Any advice for a new betta owner just trying to keep her lil superman happy and healthy ?

Welcome to MTS, Star!
Sounds like you've got a good start on keeping bettas! Bamboo can be kept in the aquarium so long as the leaves are kept above water, which makes it a bit complicated, especially while the pieces are still small, and the fact that bettas are jumpers, so the tank will need a lid.
The only issue I'm seeing is the heater temp. Temperature swings are very dangerous for fish. They cause the fish to stress out, which in turn weakens their immune systems, and lets parasites and diseases in. Its best to get a heater that will keep the tank at a stable temp of 75-80 degrees. I notice that my bettas are happiest and most active at 79 degrees. I would recommend an Aqueon Pro heater. They are a bit pricey, and the smaller ones can be hard to find, but they are well worth it, and very reliable.
