Since the stellar re-release of Ocarina of Time 3D, many of us have been wondering, will we get another remake like that? It seems that Nintendo has been deliberating over that very question, as snippets of a conversation with Miyamoto in this IGN article tell us that they are currently deciding between two older Zelda titles to potentially bring back on the 3DS.
One option they're considering is to follow up OoT 3D with its would-be 3D direct sequel, Majora's Mask. Personally, this is what I have been hoping for, as MM is a fantastic game and really deserves another shine in the spotlight. Plus, it is the (obviously) perfect follow-up game to OoT 3D. To the new fans hooked on OoT for the first time through the 3DS, Majora's Mask would be another awesome installment for them.
The other possibility that wasn't as expected is a potential remake of A Link to the Past, which was originally for the SNES and later ported to the more recent Game Boy and GBA systems. But it also seems that a possibility exists that instead of a 3D re-haul on ALttP, we might get a sequel or something similar involving this title. As we know from the LoZ timeline details in Hyrule Historia, the events of the two Oracles games, Link's Awakening, The Legend of Zelda, and The Adventure of Link follow ALttP, which doesn't seem to give us much room for yet another story after it. I do suppose though that a direct sequel would probably work well. It just seems like there isn't much room for more to happen in that storyline. That being said, I would welcome any project involving ALttP because it is a widely celebrated classic and features one of the best storylines and series of dungeon designs in the entire franchise. The only risk is because it is so great, they'd have to be careful not to take away from it with any serious overhauls or changes to its fundamental structure.
What do you guys think of these possibilities? I think I still swing more in favor of a Majora's Mask remake, but that's just because Majora's Mask is one of my top favorite games of the entire series (even though I still have to finish it...LOL). The idea of bringing back ALttP in some way is very exciting, though! Vote in the poll above and tell us what you think below!

And you harp on me for not having finished Skyward Sword yet! XD
I'm a little torn here, Majora's Mask is my favourite game in the series and I just love it to death, but I also haven't played ALttP (I've been looking for either SNES or Gameboy copies though!).
So really, I don't even know.
(A sequel would be cool, especially if they could work it into the timeline properly!)

Yeah, yeah. I WILL GET AROUND TO IT.
I've never gotten through much of ALttP to be honest, because it is so challenging and I would all but lose my patience with it. Unlike my experience of Zelda II, however, the challenge seems to be worth what little patience I have. LOL
(yes, I agree!! But they'd have to really make it good!!)

Muwahahah, just watch out for the ending, I cried like a little b***h the first time. XD
Ugh, Zelda II will be a game no one mentions anymore. D: It's probably because it's not as aggravating as Zelda II, because you know the ending won't end with Link and Zelda gettin' jiggy with it. It'll be a nice ending, haha.
(Yessss! Also, is it just me, or can I wish horribly for a post-apoctalyptic Zelda on the Wii-U? XD)

I think I would like a remake of Majora's Mask, considering I've never played it and have no wish to on an emulator lolol. I didn't enjoy Ocarina of Time on the emulator so I think I'd hate Majora's Mask even worse. sweatdrop
I have yet to finish A Link to the Past. I'm in the castle, I've got everything ready to go, I just forget what part I'm on and what to do, so I haven't even touched it because I'm too lazy to look it up lolol.
So it's two games that I haven't had the chance to play/finish which I probably would if they were remade. I feel that the Majora's Mask remake would be more probable than the Link to the Past though considering ALttP has technically already had it's remake and the fact that Majora's Mask came out after Ocarina of Time for the N64.
But I'm also yearning for a completely new game on the 3DS. I'd much rather it be not a Toon Link (though I wouldn't mind since I find him adorbs anyway, I just think it sucks that all handheld Links have been Toon), and of course I want a Kikwi return and I think they'd be perfect on the handheld. emotion_awesome
I'm just at all ends on this thing. I want so much for the 3DS that probably wont happen. xd
