I was going about updating the front page a little. Adding the little bit of information of why there's less than thirteen squads, and no canon characters etc. when I happenstance'd upon something I hadn't thought of before.
The same as with the old RP/last arc, the intention was for this guild to be set somewhere in the future of the anime/manga. Far enough in the future than no canon characters exist or are anywhere important anymore.
The future concept is fine for the ever-Edo-Period of Soul Society, we could even assume Hueco Mundo would stay the same, but the human world wouldn't right? We'd definitely have to go at the very least a few 100 years ahead, so what futuristic setting would the world of the living be in?
Many questions can come up here, and we need current members and people looking to join to understand the guilds answer to these questions. Making it Alternate Universe would be a simple solution, but if we look into this it could also end up being quite interesting.

So I ask for peoples opinions here. You can answer all, none or however many questions you wish. It's not always possible to have a genuine opinion on everything.
1) AU or future?
If we were to continue with the concept of this being in the future; 2) What should the human world be like? (Technology level, appearance etc.) 3) It's possible that the plot of the arc - since it's non-quincy humans winning for a while - could be technologically driven. What do you reckon there? 4) Any other thoughts on this in general? (Since I swear I had a lot more questions that seem to had slipped from my mind)
On another, only slightly related note, I look forward to seeing members of the Research and Development squad with in an interesting mix of technology in their profiles ^^

I was actually wondering about the timeline myself and since i'm not a big fan of Alternate Universe's; mostly because i don't like loosing the previous history.
1) AU or future? Future 2) What should the human world be like? Well seeing as time has gone by you would have to deal with the increase of technology, to what extent i don't know But i do know i don't want flying cars and the sort. 3) It's possible that the plot of the arc - since it's non-quincy humans winning for a while - could be technologically driven. What do you reckon there? I can see this, I mean the whole idea of the Human leader getting power is because of the Cubes he developed right? id say that would have to be a big technological improvement to be able to capture Shinigami and Arrancars and use there powers. 4) Any other thoughts on this in general? I agree that the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo should stay the same, dont change these ones. The years going by in the Human world really wouldn't have an effect in these places lol.

1. Doesn't really matter to me, to be perfectly honest.
2. Well, that would depend on how the Original Characters died. I mean, if they died due to simply aging then I guess a more advanced world would be appropriate, but if for instance the characters died due to a battle than there wouldn't really need be any change to the human world.
3. Well, it could possibly be a more technological fight..though that makes me think of Ghost Busters, or they could just be people like Orihime who's power just falls between the gaps of Quincy, Hollow, and Soul Reaper.
4. Nothing off the top of my head..

Does AU mean that the entire setting is in an alternate universe? Meaning that it hasn't got to be future and stuff? That could work IMHO, but not gonna vote in the poll until I be sure AU means that.
(An other thing it could mean is that only the human world is AU, though that would be pretty weird.)
Things would be easier if the human world stayed the same. I like to do minimal work, but if someone comes up with awesome futuristic ideas, I'd gladly nod to that.
And good thing that you noticed this, Benkei-kun! By the way, feel free to make announcements when things like this happen, and you need opinions ;3

The way things work, powers, the world the races etc that's all the same. But none of the canon characters ever existed. Unlike in the future setting where they did exist but for whatever reason now (death, retirement) they won't be involved in the RP.
Hm, my opinion. Again, I don't mind is the point. I don't mind making the effort to explain what future setting we're in or taking the easy route of saying AU.
It's like the futuristic-ness of the real world will change much. It will just more than likely change their surroundings, how humans, quincys and possibly vizards communicate in the world of the living and stuff like that.
Though we don't want it to be the dominating point of the RP, the future setting may draw in more RP'ers with it's originality, and may be convince more people to be human so they can be part of the futuristic world, and make interestingly adapted characters. No cyborgs or anything, but something good.

No cyborgs or anything, but something good. Personally, I think that the lazy ones (such as me) will find it very complicated and difficult to create the RPC according to this new futuristic environment, while the AU setting saves a lot of effort and time.
Besides, communicating is never a problem. I mean, there could always be a few characters (such as Urahara in the original story) that can help out with a few devices and stuff. We could easily give each race a responsible-for-high-tech-stuff character for that.
I don't know about originality and drawing attention though. AU does seem something that I'd automatically ignore, but the future-setting still sounds too complicated. For me at least.
