This is maybe a stupid question and a little bit overlong after they've come out, but I wanted to see what other people's first reaction to the Alpha kids were.
When the sixth act started with Jane and she was obviously Nana, I was a little taken aback. My boyfriend actually stopped reading there and hasn't moved forward. His immediate reaction was: "WTF? He's starting over from the beginning with a new set of kids. Screw this."
I've since explained that it doesn't take long for the trolls and Beta kids to come back into the equation, but he hasn't started reading again yet.
I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar reaction. :3

I was a bit confused at first when the Alpha session began. I saw vast similarities from the kids that for some reason reminded me of the guardians in the Beta session. I thought that I was merely overthinking things, but as I read further in I was immediately excited to find that they were the post-scratch versions of said guardians.
Needless to say, I was very eager to learn the insights to the Alpha kids and find out what made them tick. Hell, it's even when my big ship set sail! Not too long after reading I became an diehard Dirk heart Roxy shipper just as much as I was a Bro heart Mom shipper~
I don't regret a thing!

i was also confused, but i soon came to realize the same thing,
and i started liking mostly jane and dirk not as a pairing cause dirk is gay and jane likes jake
i find jane cute and funny
and dirk like a boss, in one of the past updates he pretty much chops his own head off lol
and jake... well no one can really hate him hes just the awkward child of the 4
and roxy is the lovable drunk shes just funny and somewhere deep deep down i think i ship cottencandy xp heart

I actually had some fun trying to guess Roxy's and Dirk's name, which then weren't mentioned. And Roxy just grew on me, she's a drunken sweetheart~ I was afraid that we would no longer hear of the Beta kids, but you know.. : P

Tender Lavender I actually had some fun trying to guess Roxy's and Dirk's name, which then weren't mentioned. And Roxy just grew on me, she's a drunken sweetheart~ I was afraid that we would no longer hear of the Beta kids, but you know.. : P That was definitely my fear, that it was going to take months upon months to every hear about what happened with the trolls and the beta kids. :0 But, of course, everything worked out rather speedily. :3

The poll got my reaction right on the dot.
When I first realized we had Alpha kids, my reaction was a, "Wtf no, not again. D:"
I thought I'd have to do a heck-of-a-lot more reading, and I wasn't particularly thrilled about the new character cameos at first. However, after reading them, I've grown on most of the Alphas. :3
I'm not particularly fond of Jane just yet. She's cute and amusing, but at the same time she doesn't strike me like the others do. xD;
I'm sure I'll get to like her, I was like that with Jade when I first saw her, but now I think she's just awesome after going through the rest of the story.
Also, upon first seeing the Alpha kids, I was afraid that he'd dropped the Beta kids' story. Which I would just have hated, because I love all of the Beta session characters. ;-; Glad to see he still plans on keeping them in though.

When I first heard about the Alpha Kids I was like,"Wait...what other kids?!"
Then,I had a sudden flash back of the time John messed around with that ecto stuff and making duplicates!
My mind basically blew it self and I said,"Welp,here we go again!"

I knew what was coming already in a way because all my friends (except my girlfriend who rp's homestuck but has not read it) are already to the most recent update. so I have had mass spoilers from the beginning I don't mind though its still good. I need to catch up though. must motivate!
meh too lazy I'll do it later... I love Dirk but I'm not a big fan of the others they will grow on me though I geuss.

Then after a while of reading I just got used to the shenanigans. However, I have a friend who unfortunately decided that since there were more kids being introduced, he didn't want to read any farther. It's quite disappointing, he doesn't know what he's missing. Also, because he refuses to keep reading, he's going to miss the end of Homestuck. Whatever. His loss.

I remember at first I was worried that we would no longer hear about the beta kids and the trolls and only these new characters. Luckily, that feeling went away and the alpha kids grew on me. It's been really cool seeing their character developments. I especially love Roxy and Dirk. Derse Dreamers heart
