Hiya! Here again with another talking topic.

So ... I was on 4chan last night (because I am a very bad girl) and watched some very angry anons go at it over tentabulges. If you're unfamiliar, tentabulges/tentadicks are a theory about troll anatomy that depicts trolls with tentacles where their most private area is. This idea also tends to go hand in hand with the idea that trolls don't have genders and usually depicts trolls with both tentacles and, uh, nooks, regardless of whether they're 'boys' or 'girls'.

I just wanted to get some opinions on troll anatomy. Hussie has made it pretty clear that he's not going to go any more in detail as to how trolls reproduce than as much as he already has. That has left a lot up to the imagination and I've seen various takes on how trolls reproduce, their gender lines, and all that such.

Do you have a particular troll fan-cannon that you like or do you just avoid the topic like the plague?

Karkat makes it pretty clear that the idea of genders (despite their use of pronouns) isn't really a thing in troll society. So, I think it's understandable to make the assumption that the undercarriage doesn't differ between the trolls that identify themselves as girls and those that identify themselves as boys.

I've seen a lot of different interpretations of this (a lot of them, all trolls just have what looks suspiciously a lot like lady parts). I think it's fascinating how many different ideas are floating around. : D

I think the overwhelming majority of fans would just rather imagine their anatomy the same as ours or just not imagine it at all!
And, I mean, the normal human anatomy isn't out of the question based on the ideas expressed by the trolls. I mean, it could be that the way they reproduce just doesn't require a male and female the way humans do. The quadrants and drones indicate this.
But, that does mean, you know, bulges for guys and nooks for girls are not out of the question. :3

And it doesn't even matter what they have, just as long as it sends their genetic material out and into the nearest bucket so they can give it to the Imperial Drone. It's still fun to try and figure it out, though!

I've never really thought long and hard about it, but I've always seen troll anatomy being similar to human anatomy.
I mean, it's obvious that the females differ from the waist up then the males do, as far as-- well, chesticles. XD I suppose it's possible for them to be different or the same down below, but I've always seen them as very similar to us.

I dunno, I'm not creative. I've seen quite a few theories that I can see being semi-legit, though.
I see the females and males in troll society, however, being anatomically different, whether similar to us or not. XD *shrugs*

The tentabulge thing never made much sense to me, seeing as bone bulges are repeatedly referred to. :/ Maybe some sort of bug thing is going on? Or some exoskeletal nonsense? Who knows.

Actually, Hussie has answered the why-do-female-trolls-have-boobs before! I don't know on which of the sites he used to answer questions from, and I don't have the link or proof he has said this, but it makes sense to me. He said the he gave the females breasts to be more identifiable to us, and it was most likely before he had even considered how they reproduced, so it was far too late to change it.

And I'm pretty sure that I've heard one of the males(I'm thinking Sollux, but I don't know which, if any, actually said it) make an insult regarding shoving something the other troll said up their own, personal nook. I'm not sure though. And likewise for one of the females(Vriska comes to mind) saying something about their own bulge. It could have just been harmless comments, like with how some human girls claim to have balls or penises, but it might be something to look into.. Maybe, if I get the time, I'll check all the logs, starting with Sol and Vriska's.
