Me and Roxas got sent to an orphanage when we were six because, well, our Ma wasn't too motherly. She was found to be "unfit" by the law, thus, we were swept away to a place that gave hope that someone else would want us. As far as we knew, we were the only twins there. We sat by ourselves for weeks. We only spoke between ourselves, comforted each other... Then a bully by the name of Seifer and his friend Fuu, roughly two years older than us, started picking on us. Said we were weird because we looked alike. "Two people shouldn't look that much alike. It's creepy," he reasoned. I, of course, started crying. I'd always been a bigger crybaby than Roxas. Always. He, in turn, comforted me and told me not to pay attention to him. "He's just a big bully." We had both looked up to see our saviours. The tallest one that was standing between his two friends, a redhead with the wildest hair anyone could have, just stood with his arms crossed. His hair was massive, really. Hadn't he ever gotten it cut? "Knock it off, Seifer," he'd said with sarcasm in his voice. I'd learned what sarcasm was from my mom. "Take your girlfriend elsewhere, Fuu. Leave them alone." This time it was the silver-haired one to the right of him. He had his hands in his baggy jean pockets. I'd always thought his hair was really pretty. "Yeah. They're cute. I'm glad there's two of them," squeaked a scraggly-looking dirty blond to Axel's over side. His left, obviously. This one's hair was a mess, too, but much shorter. He was also covered in head-to-toe with dirt. He had to have been on the playground for hours before. Me and Rox avoided that playground at all costs. Too many people. Too many stares. Anyway, that blond stood with his hands on his hips, shoulders tensed. Seifer had just given them a dirty look and scrammed with Fuu following slowly behind him. then the three turned towards us. I think all five pairs of our eyes widened at the same time. Demyx's were a gorgeous mediterranean blue that we had never seen before. Riku's were more of a seafoam green. The colour of a beautiful shallow end off of a barrier island or something. Then Axel's. Thos were the ones that took my breath away. They were a striking green. Like acid. They bore into my being, and I could feel the hole getting bigger and bigger... Such as we were mesmerized by their eye colours, they were caught up in ours. Our wide, deep blue eyes and their ranges of greens just stared back and forth until the dirty blond held out his hand with a happy grin. "Hi! I'm Demyx!" he had told us. He was so friendly, we had thought, so I shook his hand and smiled back with a small nod. We soon thereafter had found out that the redhead was Axel, and the silvernette was Riku. Then Roxas told them our names. From that day, the five of us were inseparable. Axel and Demyx had been there for roughly three years. They were nine--three years older than us. Riku had only been there for one year. He was eight. We all shared our stories, then. Riku's parents had been, sadly, killed. He had no more known relatives. Demyx's parents couldn't put up with him anymore, so they put him up for adoption. Axel's dad...didn't like him. He had been brutally abused when the police came after someone called them, hearing his screams. His mother, not being able to afford to feed them both, regretfully put him up for adoption as well. They both loved each other very much, but...there was no other way.
We had always gone and tried to hide when someone came to adopt. We didn't want to be split apart. The five of us always wanted to stay together. It wasn't until two years later that Riku was adopted. Riku and I had grown really, really close. I had been close with the other two, but Riku was my best friend other than Roxas. There was a lot of screaming and crying that day. From both of us. The next to go was Demyx about three months later. Then...the worst happened just two months later. Roxas had been adopted, but...but I hadn't. there was even more screaming then. We were twins, for Christ's sake! How could you tear us apart?! They couldn't afford to have both of us, so they just had Roxas. So then it was just me and Axel. We had grown particularly close after that. He was all I had. I was all he had. It took us two months to get over that. Both of us. I never truly got over it, because he was my twin. We always had each other, and then he was gone. A year after Roxas was adopted, Axel's mother had come to get him back. She had gotten a very stable job, and actually had bought her own house. She got herself back on her feet by herself just so she could have her Axel back. I remember watching with big, watery, lonely eyes as Axel and his mother embraced each other. "I'll miss you, Sor," was all he told me as we hugged. He had looked at me with sad but hopeful eyes before he left with his mother. And then...there was just me. Even Seifer had been adopted. I felt so unloved. From then on, I just sat in a corner quietly by myself. No one ever spoke to me or even looked towards me. Why did no one love me..?
Three years later, I was twelve years old and still sitting in my corner by myself. I was reading a book, though. I had taught myself words to broaden my vocabulary. The caregivers there never tried to teach us anything, really. I was forced to learn on my own. I liked to learn, I found. It made me feel smart. It made me feel above everyone else there so I wouldn't feel so small anymore. I also liked to read to the smaller kids. I liked to help them and feel like I was making a difference. It made me happy, actually put a smile on my face. Three years after that, I was sitting alone again. I wasn't reading this time. No, I was just thinking. I would have been entering high school by then. I knew a lot now. I had self-taught chemistry equations and history. I was great at the English language, I figured out. It was mostly just patterns and memorization. I was really good with memorization. I also started to draw and write. I liked to see my ideas down on paper. I even wrote some of my own books for the kids to read and play with. I would create covers with spare pieces of cardboard and bind it all together with some string or thread I found lying about. They loved them, really. And they knew to be careful. ...Maybe I would do really well in high school. I think I would. It was summer break right now for the kids with families, I had thought. Then I thought about Axel and Demyx and Riku. Axel and Demyx would be going into their senior year. They would be graduating and going to college. Riku would be going into his...tenth grade year? that was my guess. Then I thought of Roxas. Roxas would be going into his freshman year... I would be, too, if I wasn't stuck here, was what had crossed my mind. "Sora," I heard my voice called and looked up at the kind woman I had almost befriended at the orphanage. I blinked a few times and walked to her. "Someone's here to adopt you," she told me with happiness and tears in her eyes. My jaw went slack. Really? "Really? Someone actually wants me..?" I remember whispering in disbelief. I had been in that place for almost ten years, and someone finally wanted me. She had nodded and led me into the small adoption office where two kind-looking woman sat. One had short-cropped silver hair that was kind of fashioned into a mohawk. She wore darker clothes than the other who was very, very brightly-coloured. Her hair was ridiculously long and such a bright blond it was almost yellow. There was an explosion of accessories all over her. Their names were Paine and Rikku. I teared up at the name, remembering my friend... We had been so damn close to each other before we were ripped apart. Then, they had hugged me. Both of them. And they announced that they were going to be my new parents. I was ecstatic and let my genuine smile finally shine through.
I remember saying goodbye to all of the children. I told them to keep the books so they could read them all over and over as I slung my bag over my shoulder. We had a group hug, then I left with my two loving mothers.
All of the memories... Everything flashed through my mind as I walked through the front doors of my new high school. I was supposed to be a freshman, but when they tested me in, they found me to be more intelligent than anticipated. They moved me a grade up. I was a sophomore now, and I was really, really nervous. How the hell did public school even work? I looked down at my schedule in my shaking hand. I had AP Biology first block, honors geometry second, AP English third and AP Art fourth. It was official. I ******** loved my schedule. I squealed on the inside and bounced on the balls of my feet in happiness, grin plastered across my face and eyes shining brightly. Apparently AP Art was only meant to be a junior or senior course, but they put me in it because my moms had told them about my amazing drawing ability. And my AP English class was actually a junior class. I was the only sophomore in there.
I was currently waiting for my "senior escort" to get there to guide me around the school. I hadn't spoken to anyone over the age of seven other than my moms and the wonderful woman at the orphanage since Axel had been adopted. Needless to say, I was nervous.

"Have a good day at school, sweetie." The woman that called herself mother informed Roxas from the kitchen. It was all a lie. Everything from the house's appearance to the people that lived in it were a lie... The orphanage had no idea.. this 'family' had blindsided them with the falsity of being loving and caring.... Roxas looked around at his fake room and the only thing that keep him there was the simple fact that he couldn't force someone to take his place in this demented place...
As Roxas walked, he could felt his shoes hit the pavement carrying him to the place he hated almost as much as his 'home'. It claimed to be the most prestigious private school in the tri-state area, but it was really just a fancy hell. All the teachers were horrifying, and couldn't really teach anyone anything. Everyone was required to wear full uniform. Expression was practically forbidden. Not to mention, Roxas was expected to get all A's, or his loving parents would severely punish him. Of course, the really scary part was that everyone's parents at his school were like that. The orphanage that he knew so long ago had been so much better than his life now... He had Sora then too.... He use to cry when he thought of Sora being all alone somewhere without him... but after living in the house he had for all these years, he was glad Sora was somewhere else. Sora could ever handle a place like this or even his school. It sometimes came too much for even Roxas, but he just hung on with the hope of it getting better someday. The promise of a better tomorrow was really all the hope Roxas had maintained over the years.
Roxas's mind snapped back to reality as he went to walked across a street and heard the bone-chilling sound of car tires screeching at him. His wide blue eyes immediately turned to the sound as he saw a red car about to hit him. Everything was moving so slow for that millisecond of time as Roxas felt his body springing into action. His eyes clamped closed as he attempted to jump out of the way of the vehicle speeding towards him. This was it... All that suffering and this was the way he was going to die... He would never see Sora one last time... He would never get to see his better someday... His last moments were going to be laying in pain on the pavement of some dirty street....
"Riku would just chill! I'm hurrying okay? One can only safely speed so fast," Axel yelled through the phone at Riku, who was complaining that he was going to be late to meet his newbie escort. Axel knew that if he was late today the poor kid would basically be helpless, but still, Axel didn't like getting to school early. It was just not something he was physically able to do. The little kid would be fine for a few more stupid minutes while Axel finished driving to school. "You shouldn't be speeding either. You should have thought ahead, and planned to come to school earlier. You knew they would be assigning you a new student today. This shouldn't be something that came as a surprise to you, Axel. I told you this was one of the duties of a student council member, but you wanted to join anyway. " Riku scolded him as he dug around in his locker to find the book he needed for first period. "Blah, Blah, I know, but you know I only joined because you and Demyx were joining." Axel reminded him before Riku just groaned at him. "Do you want me just to go show him around?" Riku asked in an annoyed voice. "Yes, ple- OH ********!" Axel startled seeing a blonde kid in the road all of the sudden.
"Axel? Axel! Hey man what happen?!" Riku asked hearing all the noise and the scream through the phone. "R-Riku, Just please go deal with my newbie today. I-I think I just hit someone..." Axel said in a terrified voice before hanging up the phone. He tossed the phone into his passenger seat, before quickly getting out of the car.
"Oh man, kid please wake up, I don't know what I'll do if I killed you." Axel pleaded with the blonde on the ground, shaking him a little. He wasn't sure if you were suppose to shake people you just hit with your car, but he didn't know what else to do. After a moment, he leaned down close to him trying to look and see if he hit his head too hard on the pavement. The redhead probably should have called 911, but he knew if he did his insurance would go way up, and his mom would be crazy mad if he committed vehicular manslaughter.
"...ughhhh..." Roxas groaned finally as his felt someone shaking him. "..I am dead...." He breathed feeling his body tingling with pain. He had tried to jump out of the way, but he just ended up rolling over the hood and hitting the pavement. "No thank goodness! Man, Kid you scared the s**t out of me! I'm soo sorry I hit you, please don't press charges on me!" Axel spit out quickly worried about the kid or his parents suing him. He was in a nice uniform, so he probably had rich parents. "wha?..." Roxas asked slightly confused as he opened his blue eyes looking up into those bright acid green eyes. Axel might not have noticed it, but Roxas did immediately. ".... Axel...?" He breathed feeling tears swelling in his eyes. It was like a dream come true seeing someone from the old orphanage.. even if that dream had hit him with a car. "Oh ******** me... Roxas?! Oh god! I hit you with my car, ohh ******** s**t! I'm so sorry Roxas!" Axel yelled instantly making the connection as soon as he said his name.
Some people say they don't believe in destiny... but to Roxas... this wasn't just some coincidence. It just couldn't have been.

"Rikuuuu! What's taking Axel so long?" a spunky blond whined to his silver-haired friend. "He was supposed to be here like ten minutes ago..." He pouted and leaned against the locker door as Riku slowly hung up the phone. "I wanted to tell him all about my date last night, too! But no! He has to go and be all late and s**t. Soooo not cool." He whined a bit before looking at the expression on Riku's face. "Wait...what happened? Is something wrong? Who died?!" he cried spastically, hands gripping the sides of his head in worry. "Is Axel okay? He didn't die did he?!" Tears sprang to his eyes as his chin trembled. By then, anyone in the hallway was staring at him and Riku like he was having a psychotic fit and Riku was about to get his face eaten off.
Meanwhile, Sora sat silently outside of the office in the nice, surprisingly cushioned chairs they had set up there. He was examining one of the reminders of the orphanage that one of the children gave him after reading to them. It was a worn-out baseball that could barely hold itself together. The boy had signed his name in sloppy, backwards printed letters and told him that when he grew up and became a baseball star, he wanted Sora to know that he would always remember him and come visit him at his big baseball star house. He smiled softly at the memory and the big, happy grin that was on the boy's face. He was one of the children that Sora had taught to write and read.
He was snapped out of the memory and into another one. Demyx had spazzed out over the fact that Axel got gum in the poor blond's hair and had to cut it out. He freaked out and slapped the hell out of Axel's arm. The poor redhead. He stood, glancing down the hall. He heard the same voice yelling about some big happenstance. "No, Sora...you're just imagining it because you're lonely. You did it all the time at the orphanage, it's no different," he told himself. He had imagined all of their voices his years alone at the orphanage. He would perk up when he would hear someone laughing like Demyx or Riku or yelling like Axel. Then his heart would slowly crack another piece off of its lonely soul.
But the yelling continued. And it was spastic like Demyx...and he just couldn't resist to go check it out. So he slowly made his way down the hall, heart racing and footsteps falling faster on the tiled floor. What if it wasn't him? What if he was just imagining it again? His heart would be broken... But what if it was him? Maybe Axel and Riku and Roxas, too? "Roxas..," he muttered under his breath before sucking it in and taking the corner into the other hall. He stopped dead in his tracks. A silvernette and a sandy blond flipping out and gripping his head in worry like he always did. He wanted to say something, but his voice wouldn't work. Then he began to doubt. But...what if they didn't remember him? What if they had completely forgotten and didn't even want to look twice at him. Tears slid down his cheeks, and he retreated. He turned around and hid behind the corner of the wall so they wouldn't see him. He was just too scared... Too scared of rejection by the ones he loved...

Riku's face remained somber as he tried to process what Axel had just said to him. Could the redhead really have just killed someone? Would Riku be considered an accessory to it, because of the fact he was distracting him while he was driving? There was so many worries and questions circling in his head at the moment, he didn't response to anything Demyx was practically screaming at him for a full minute or two. "D-Demyx, chill the ******** out. I was just on the phone with Axel... He said he hit someone with his car...." Riku stated struggling between worry and confusion of what he should do. Axel didn't seem like he would be sane enough to handle having a death on his hands. Maybe Riku and Demyx should go skip to help Axel with this. This was an emergency. Their teachers would just have to understand. Of course while Riku was trying to figure out how to best handle the situation, Demyx was flipping his lid screaming his head off. He wasn't even making sense anymore as he grabbed his head like he always did. "DEMYX!" Riku yelled finally getting the Demyx's attention again. "Calm down, we are going to find Axel. Get your crap." Riku said in a very stern voice for the few seconds Demyx was quiet, before picking up his bag off the ground and slamming his locker shut.
His feet started to move, but they didn't stay in motion for long. His aquamarine eyes connected with those bright royal blue eyes and he couldn't move. He couldn't function. He stopped so abruptly that Demyx actually collided with him pushing him forward towards those blue eyes. Riku had tried to catch his balance soon, but by the time he caught it, he was standing right in front of Sora. His eyes slowly moved from the floor up again examine the other's now formed body before finally meeting the eyes again. "...oh my gosh..."He breathed so quietly he almost didn't make a sound. He must have been dreaming. The chocolate haired boy couldn't have been standing right in front of him. Riku had thought about seeing Sora again the moment he left the orphanage... Now it was only a distant dream.. or so he thought it was... "I-I'm dreaming..." Riku stuttered attempting to breath normally, but it wasn't working. First Axel hit someone with his car, now this.... He must have been having some kind of weird nightmare or dream. It was just too much freaking to be real.

"What?! Axel hit someone?! B-But are they alright? Oh my God!" he continued to scream before Riku yelled at him, snapping him out of his craze. He automatically silenced, wide-eyed as he stared at Riku, forcing himself to keep his mouth shut. Then he nodded spastically before turning to his locker and getting his things out of it before quickly following Riku. "Oops!" he squeaked as he bumped straight into Riku. "Sor...ry..." His words slowed as he looked up to meet Sora's eyes as well. His jaw went slack as he stared at him as the chocolate-haired teen stared at Riku.
Sora turned white as Riku stopped in front of him. His bright blues filled with tears that leaked down his cheeks as he tried to say something...anything to the silvernette. Suddenly, he was lifted up into the arms of a tall blond and was being spun around in the middle of the hallway. "Sora! Aaaah!" squealed Demyx as tears streamed down his face as well. They both yelped as Demyx lost his balance and they fell to the floor, laughing. "Demy! I missed you so much!" Sora sobbed happily, hugging him tightly and refusing to let go. "Sora! You're even more adorable than I remembered!" the blond replied, squeezing the air out of his lungs.
When he was finally released, Sora breathed heavily with Demyx laying there on the floor with him, both grinning their asses off. Then Sora remembered Riku was there. He looked up at him with a blush on his cheeks. "Are you just gonna stand there or come give me a hug?" he asked in a timid voice, grinning weakly at him. "If...If you want to, anyway... I'd like one..." He blushed darker in embarassment, glancing down at the floor timidly.

Riku wanted to join in on the hug with Demyx. He wanted to scream to the heavens in excitement. He wanted to show Sora that he was so ecstatic to finally see him again... But, he couldn't move... Sora was like this unattainable force behind a glass frame, and all Riku could do was stare at him. His aquamarine eyes started to burn with tears with all the want that was building in inside him. He had dreamed for so long of this... What if he messed this up? What if he said the wrong thing? Riku couldn't handle losing the brunette again... He could go insane... He was sure of that. Maybe things were different now, too. What if Sora wasn't the same person he loved so long ago.... Maybe Sora never really loved Riku like he had so long ago... For Riku, Sora was that one person no one could ever measure up to. He had tried dating other people, but it always came down to the fact that he wasn't over losing Sora.. They may have been kids and it may have been years ago, but Riku really did love Sora. Even if, Sora didn't know he loved him back then...
The brunette turned to him and he could feel the tears pouring down. He couldn't even understand what Sora was saying, but he knew what he wanted. He stared for a moment, but finally his body kicked in. His arms wrapped around the smaller brunette as he hugged him tight. It wasn't as obvious before, but Riku was sure that now Sora could tell he was shaking like a tree. "I-I missed y-you,"He stuttered softly to Sora. He wasn't sure if Sora knew this, but Riku just wanted to hold him. If he let go right now, he wouldn't be able to convince himself that Sora wasn't going to just disappear from his life.

Watching Riku crumble in front of his eyes and start bawling caused Sora to choke out a sob and hold him as tightly as he possibly could. "Riku...Riku...Riku..," he sobbed into the silvernette's shoulder. He didn't even realize how tightly he was being held nor did he care. "I missed you so...so ******** much," he choked, not even caring that he broke his silent rule tO never curse. He was being held by Riku. Riku who no one could ever replace in his heart. "I-I was so scared y-you forgot about me...". He sniffled and relaxed against Riku's chest, loving the feeling of being held.
"umm..," hummed Demyx, "I know...this is awesome and everything, but what about Axel hitting that person..?" He sat there awkwardly and questionably. "Wh-What? A-Axel's here too? A-and he hit someone?!" Sora squeaked out in surprise. "A-Are they alright? H-He's probably freKing out! We have to help him!". He wiggled from Riku's grip and jumped up, wiping his tears away before dashing off to grab his bag from his seat in front of the office. By time he was back Demyx was on his feet too with his bag on his back. "Come on, Riku! Hurry up!" Sora squealed in worry.

Riku was still pretty dazed from the whole situation, so he didn't really hear anything they were saying until Sora told him to hurry up. Then, he was only running after the two because he didn't want Sora to leave just yet. When they made it back to the office, Riku ran up straight up to Sora. His face seemed to be looking for the right words to say, but he just couldn't get them out. His hand timidly reached out and took Sora's hand. "please... I just.... don't let go." Riku whispered to him. His body was still shaking, but he just needed a way to convince himself they were going to get forcibly separated again... Even just thinking about it reminded Riku of all the nightmares from that horrible experience. Riku felt his body starting to calm and his senses starting to come back to him as Sora's hand laced with his. Of course, this was also when Demyx's voice reminded him that they were going to Demyx's car to go help Axel. "Demyx, you should probably call Axel and see if he'll pick up your call before we start tearing up the town looking for him." Riku stated thinking to himself that Axel wouldn't pick up his call. Riku was usually the one that kept Demyx and Axel out of trouble, so if they did something wrong, they always tried to avoid him as best as possible hoping he wouldn't find out what they did.

Sora held Riku's hand tightly, blushing slightly as the silvernette looked into his eyes with that pleading expression. "I won't..," he whispered back before walking outside of the building with the other two. "You're right!" Demyx said spaztically as he pulled out his phone and called Axel back. They got in the vehicle and sat down--Demyx in the driver's seat and Riku and Sora in the back seat. Demyx bounced in his seat as he waited for an answer on the other line. Sora looked over at Riku and smiled softly, scooting closer to him. He laid his head on Riku's shoulder and relaxed in contentment, worry for Axel and the victim still spiking at the back of his mind. "I missed you so much," he whispered to him. "What's your family like, Riku? I wanna meet them. My parents would love you. They're so nice, Riku. My mom's name is actually Rikku. Isn't it weird?" He giggled a little, completely at peace with Riku there.

The already stressed out redhead practically jumped out of is skin hearing his phone go off in the console of his car. "s**t,"He breathed. His eyes cautiously looked at the blonde he had just got situated in his back seat. "Your language has become quite one of a sailor.."Roxas mumbled absentmindedly as Axel leaned over to pick up his phone. The redhead had chose to ignore the comment for the moment. "Hey Dem, I can't really talk right now, what do you need?" Axel answered trying to just outright inform Demyx he couldn't talk for long before Demyx could drag the conversation out any longer than it needed to be. Axel's emerald eyes looked back at Roxas's sapphire eyes and they seemed to be whole a conversation instantaneously. If Axel knew Demyx... Then Axel probably knew were the rest of them ended up.... Where Sora ended up...
Roxas, without much thinking, dropped the shirt that Axel gave him to put pressure on the bleeding scrap on his forehead and knocked the phone out of Axel's hand. "Dem? As in Demyx? Axel, where's Sora? Which family took him?" Roxas asked quickly his brain all of a sudden in a frenzy to know if Sora lived in the same town with them or not. More importantly, Roxas was looking to see if he could once again see his long-lost twin. Axel opened his mouth to complain about Roxas rudely knocking the phone out of his hand, but the question caught him off guard. It had been a long time since he thought about the painful black hole in his heart that leaving Sora left. Most of the time, he dreadfully couldn't stomach to think about it. "I-I.....I-I don't know what to tell you..."Axel whispered back as tears started to spring up into his eyes. Roxas took in a deep breath at the words he heard before sitting back into the seat.... Sora was still in the wind.... Even Roxas couldn't help the formation of tears at the thought of Sora being alone in that orphanage.
Riku smiled a little hearing Sora. It was odd that Riku felt so calm, even with Axel in trouble. Sora was just all he needed to be happy. "My family is pretty normal I would say, my mom works in a bakery and my dad is one of the local attorneys, but it's odd that I feel like I have lived with them my whole life." Riku explained to Sora happy to hear that he found happy himself.

"Axel! You actually answered! Where are you? Or which hospital are you going to? We'll meet you there, but I need to know right now because I'm driving right now! So tell me!" he said spastically, turning out of the school parking lot at lightening speed. The streetlight stopped them suddenly and Demyx impatiently tapped his fingers on the wheel. "Tell me now, Axel, or we'll search all day for where you went," he threatened.
Sora looked down at their clasped hands with a bright smile. "I wanna meet them. My parents just adopted me like two weeks ago. They're really wonderful, Riku. I'm so happy." He smiled back up at him, tears brimming his eyes. "I taught the kids there to read. And I wrote them a few books to occupy themselves with. I taught them to write, too. And they all looked so sad when I was leaving. I'm actually surprised Rikku and Paine took me in since I'm so old. I mean, you would think I would be in there until I was eighteen." His smile turned a bit sad "Even Seifer got adopted before me... He actually got better as he grew up. He's not as much of a jerk as he used to be. He actually might make someone happy one day." He cupped Riku's face, fingertips brushing his soft skin. His face turned a gentle pink as his hand dropped back down to his lap. "I was always thinking that if someone adopted me, I hoped that I could be close enough to see you again. It made me happy thinking about seeing you guys again. It...really helped me through being there alone..."

The redhead then looked away from Roxas. They were both thinking the same thing, but both of them were so ashamed with having to leave Sora in the Children's home they couldn't even stand to comfort one another. As soon as the silent grew between Roxas and Axel, it was very soon apparent how panicked Demyx was, as his shouting could easily be heard from the backseat floor where the phone ended up. Axel, after a moment to collect himself, picked back up his phone. "Demyx, I'm sitting in my car, umm right off Timber View. It is a few streets down from Main Street over by the nice private school... I-... I'll see you when you get here." Axel stated before handing up. As he pressed the end call button on his phone, he could feel the cold silence returning to the car. The only sound coming from the car was the gut-wrenching sounds of Roxas's sobs. They were soft, but they had the power of thunder to Axel's ears. If it wasn't apparent before, it was now obvious that Roxas had formally and whole-heartily believed Sora had been adopted by a good, loving family. What was the worst part for Axel, though, was that he knew it was his fault for scattering the false illusion Roxas had been carrying around with him for many years.
Roxas had never been much of a crier. He grew up having to be the strong one for Sora. Even now that Sora was gone, Roxas still found himself feeling like if he showed weakness to anyone he would be letting Sora down... It didn't take long for Roxas to soak up his tears and decide what he was going to do next. "Goodbye, Axel." Roxas whispered as he opened up the back door and climbed out of the car. He could feel his body burning with pain, but he didn't stop... He didn't even look back at Axel, until he jumped out of the car to grab his hand. "No, Roxas, I'm not letting you leave again. Especially after I hit you with my car, please just let me get you looked at. Then you can leave and never see me again if you don't want to. I know I shouldn't have left Sora in that home, I should have demanded not to leave until Sora did. You left him there with me to protect him... Do you remember? I know that is why you are walking away right now. You hate me for leaving him there. And I hate myself for it too, but please just... stay with me just until I can make sure you are okay." Axel pleaded with the blonde as more tears filled his eyes and came pouring down his face. Roxas could feel his body forcibly trembling now. There was a part of him that wanted to just stay with Axel and just let him help him through all the hell he had been through... Then there was another part that felt like he would ever be able to forgive Axel for what he did... Axel had made a promise to him that day he left... He was going to be there and watch over Sora in his place. He was going to make sure nothing bad happened to Sora while Roxas was still unable to come and find him again. A promise Axel doubtingly broke. "Axel. I-I can't do this. You don't know what it has been like for me. Being apart from Sora, living in that Godforsaken house, trust me a few bumps and bruises is nothing new to me. Please just let me go. You can't make me okay anymore..." Roxas answered back to his pleas with harsh reality. Yes, Axel being back in his life for a little while might have been nice for a little while, but eventually it would be nothing but a constant pain in Roxas's heart. Roxas was sure it would be the same for Axel as well. Both of them missed Sora so much... Seeing each other only would remind them of what they didn't have anymore...What they left behind at that orphanage when they left...
Axel stared into Roxas haunting blue eyes for another moment watching the tears pour down Roxas's face. It was then that he knew the reality that Roxas had already come to. His hand then slipped back down to his waist as he watched Roxas's hand slip down to his waist, too. "I-I'm sorry it has to be like this, Axel. I.. I just can't." He whispered hugging Axel as a more comforting goodbye before stepping back. The blonde then grabbed his previous discarded book bag and started off down the street. Axel just stood there watching him disappear out of his life again. When the blonde was finally out of sight, Axel crumbled to sidewalk next to his car. Axel had thought he was getting better, but now it was clear. He was never going to be whole again without Sora AND Roxas in his life again... and since he hadn't seen Sora in years and Roxas just walked away from him a second time, Axel doubted he would ever be whole again... Axel was past the point of pretending to be okay. Nothing could drown down the screaming from the emptiness... The poor redhead just laid there on the ground crying waiting to wither away. He had forgotten all about the fact that he had told Demyx where he was even at that point.
Riku weakly smiled back at Sora. "I'm soo sorry, I left... You don't know how hard it's been for all of us without you here, especially Axel. He is going to be so happy to see you. The chances of finding you were so slim, but now that we have you back, you know I bet we can even find Roxas. Then we could all be together again..." Riku vocally imagined as his smile grew brighter. "You just don't know how great this is for me, honestly." Riku laughed softly looking into those deep, blue eyes. He had dreamed about see them in person again so many times; it was hard for Riku not to get lost in just staring at Sora.

Sora smiled and leaned forward, burying his nose in Riku's neck and nuzzling it lightly. "I can't believe we all ended up at the same place...minus Roxas..." He tried not to let his emotion show through his eyes, but it just happened anyway. He was too much of an emotional person for it not to. So, instead, he just kept his face buried in Rikus' skin and willed his body not to tremble in sorrow.
Demyx threw his phone onto the passenger seat and sped down the street to a few blocks away from the school. Upon seeing Axel's car, he skidded to a stop on the side of the road and jumped out. "Axel!" Demyx squeaked, seeing the readhead on the ground. Sora hurried out of the car, too, dragging Riku with him. He just stood there watching Demyx pull Axel up into a sitting position, chin trembling and grip tightening on Riku's hand. The blond pulled him into his arms and rocked him gently. "Axel, what's wrong? Why're you on the ground? What happened? Where's the person you hit?" Sora stood back silently, gripping Riku. He was frozen. There Axel was--right in front of him.

Axel heard Demyx yelling his name, but he felt like he could do nothing but lay there. When Demyx picked him up off the ground and hugged him, Axel had started calm himself down enough to talk. His arms slowly wrapped around the blonde's frame. "H-He l-l-left... I-I tried to s-s-stop h-him, b-but h-he is right.... I-I let him down... H-He hates me, Demyx! H-H-He hates me..." Axel sobbed into Demyx's shoulder. Demyx might have been able to hear what Axel was rambling on about, but what Demyx could hear, he wouldn't understand. Axel was just too upset at that point to explain what just happened. "I-I feel so empty without them here.... W-why did I leave him? Why Demyx? Why..."Axel questioned weakly as he continued to cry into Demyx's shoulder. The feeling of another there made him feel better, but it wasn't what he really wanted. He wanted Roxas to come back. He wanted Sora to be with him. He wanted them all together again... He wanted to be happy again... whole again...
Riku stared down at Axel having a break down in the middle of the sidewalk not really sure what to do himself. He took a moment to think before looking to Sora, who was now frozen still. "Sora... I think you need to talk to him right now.... the last time he got like this... it.. it was because he missed you... and if it is not because of that now, it at least couldn't hurt him to see you again..."Riku advised quietly just in case Sora wasn't ready to see Axel again. He didn't want to force Sora into something he wasn't strong enough to do yet, but Axel obviously needed something that Demyx and Riku just could never give him.

Sora blinked at Riku, trembling a little. "B-But what if I make it worse?" he whispered timidly. Then he looked back at Axel and bit his lip hard. He stepped forward, pulling Riku with him unconsciously. He kneeled beside Axel and didn't let go of the silvernette's hand until he leaned forward, setting a gentle hand on Axel's shoulder. "Axel..," he whimpered. "Please...please stop crying." Tears leaked down his cheeks. "You know I h-hate seeing you cry..." He looked at him with pleading eyes, too scared to wrap his arms around him like he wanted to so badly. Too scared of rejection from his peers...from his best friends. "Please..." He rested a gentle hand on Axel's cheek, trembling fingers touching soft, tear-stained skin.
