Anyways, his name is Apollo. He's kind of a shy betta. When I walk up to the tank, he swims to the back or under his bridge. I'm usually one for a big personality, but quite frankly he's so beautiful I don't care. I'm sure it's more fitting to have a quiet personality in this sort of tank anyways. And plus, once he associates me == delicious food, I think he might come around.
He was sold as a twin-tail halfmoon betta. He's also got really shiny scales-- does this make him a dragonscale as well? Twintail halfmoon dragonscale betta, I like the sound of that. xd But anyways, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...

Ooh, on the downside, he did come with a big chunk missing from his tail (I'm thinking he might have bit it from stress or boredom). We've been watching him for a couple of days now, it seems to be growing back. Quite frankly, I think I would personally give him better care than he would see at the store. I don't trust the guy who's going to do water changes tomorrow to not "forget" (or just not feel like) doing the sick bettas. But anyways, this isn't about me ranting about my coworkers... This is about my awesome fish. lol
Speaking of awesome fish, Galileo is doing very well. He and the frogs have... Err, well, they've learned to co-habitate. I can now differentiate between my frogs (Deimos is lighter, Phobos is darker). Phobos tends to chill out in the plants while Deimos hunts for and guards their shrimp pellets. Occasionally Galileo will try to sneak a bite, but Deimos will whip around and snap at his general direction until Galileo hightails (or highfins) it out of there. rofl He's resumed interest in his normal food.
I also have Big Franklin (the original) and Little Franklin (the addition) the snails. The Franklins are doing well. Big Franklin is getting huge, Little Franklin is not so little. Sometimes I see them hanging out together doing some synchronized algea-cleaning. I love these guys. I love my 5gal, for such a little thing it's a very lively place. <3
