You have to remember a couple of things if you choose to vote, one as a Catholic you believe in Social Justice in helping the poor and less fortunate as you or others. Second the Pope has not a edict on a social issue in many years. Edict being from Ex cathedra or from the chair in which there are a bunch of rules about. I vote in the way that will help the further mankind, or so I hope.

The Pope often has a lot of influence over how people vote. Even with this in mind there's no more power than him simply saying "This i the guy I like and support."
Being Catholic and voting is simply choosing a candidate based on a particular personal sensibility. In short just don't worry so much and vote with whatever confidence you can muster.
