Deep Ecology is the belief that Humans do not have more intrinsic value than any other life form. As humans, we generally like to think in hierarchical terms (biology tells us to). But Deep Ecology dismantles the notion that living things can be compared as more "valuable" than one another. Another belief is that the Earth itself is a living being.. similar to many pagan belief systems.
Then there is "Shallow" Ecology which is basically the whole "live Green" fad which is similar to buying "earth friendly" manure in plastic bags. (even recycling is bad for the earth.. lots of transport. Just dont buy plastic!).
So, what are your thoughts on deep ecology? I like to spread knowledge about this religion because it's fairly new and I recently took a course on it at Indiana University. emotion_c8
