The day was surprisingly crisp and Mimas knew the coming winter would be a harsh one. Too young to have much duties as a Child of Vesperos, other than growing into an adult, Mimas had left the herd to their own devices for the day. Orpheus had fussed over him for a minute about it, but had relented. So, that's how Mimas found himself in an open field of clover. Despite the openness of the place, he didn't fear any danger as he laid in the soft grass. His herd WAS close by of course and he had no problems with the thought of sprinting back to them if the need arose.
Content to just spend the day munching on heads of clover, Mimas alternated between doing just that and grooming in little flock on fairy wrens. At the moment, they were dozing between his forelegs, putting up with Mimas' gentle licks every now and then. Little did he know that his solitude would not last much longer and the stranger would be most uninvited indeed.
Nyx Argyros

It was perhaps unusual to see a fawn roaming the wilds alone, even in a realm where the young were born as wisps of light and had no definite way of knowing their parents. It seemed that there was always a ready adult to take in a lone child, regardless of relation. Lethe, however, had no interest in accepting the protection of a random adult. What did they really care, anyway? Pretending to care when who knew how they really felt. She would much rather look after herself. At least she knew where she stood there.
