It's taking me a long while to notice, but cats are everywhere in my life. It started when I used to live in Japan and I lived next to a shrine full of stray cats I'd sneak food everyday. Then I move to Minnesota, full of stray cats and the extremely sexually active cat we adopted named Sassy. So now, we had about five cats, down to two after we gave them away to happy owners. Now I've moved to South Carolina and every night, there are at least three cats on my doorstep. Most scatter, but one of them loves me and is always around. Still haven't named her. Any ideas?
Anyways, I was wondering if this was some sort of sign? Maybe from a goddess choosing me, like Freya or Bast. I don't know, but I was hoping for some insight onto the signs that cats bring.

Sometimes a cat is just a cat, you know? Cats are one of those animals that are abundant in urban areas, and even feral cats are also domesticated animals; some are going to like to hang out with people. What you're describing isn't unusual behavior for cats.
It's the same for crows, which are ubiquitous urban dwellers, or rats, or mice, or squirrels, chipmunks, pidgeons, and raccoons. In my neighbourhood we also have a very fat and friendly skunk, a few deer, and a ton of rabbits and groundhogs. If you live near water you may also have to consider seagulls, ducks, geese, and other waterfowl, as well as predatory birds. People tend to forget that we have these populations wherever people have settled, and they are not unusual.
I personally wouldn't call it a sign. Signs tend to be extraordinary things - unusual or unlikely events or objects, sometimes repeatedly, or unusually coloured animals. But if you think it's a symbol of some sort of calling, you might consider asking who/what you think is making the signs for more clarity.

I would agree with what Morg said, that it isn't necessarily a sign - if you don't have a cat yourself, and you're in an urban area, other cats are likely to turn up.
But hell, if this has provoked an interest, you may want to research Them or read a few of Their myths.
