I know there's a ton of people always asking about patrons. Like I said when I joined up I've been at this for about a year and initially I did have some questions about patrons and when I looked it up most people said "Yeah don't worry about it if you're meant to favour a god they'll make themselves known." And so I did just that and got on with it.

However the past...two months I would say? Maybe three. There's been this sort of energy that I couldn't really describe and so I didn't pay much attention, I've been having dreams, which I usually don't have at all over the past month. Most of the time I can hardly recall them but that's probably just a product of years of dreamless sleep. I finally put the pieces together today and I'm fairly certain that someone is trying to make a connection with me. I didn't know much about even the majority gods except Thor, Frigga, Freyja and Odin ( which probably means I should've been trying harder earlier) so I went to my good old friend google and got your basic overall info on the gods. I read all of it and the ones that stuck out as who it could be were Loki, Freyr and Heimdall which is strange as they're not all that similar. If you squint you can see they all have at least a small connection to growth or change but that's not much to go on.

I've had a sort of affinity for deer, Stags in particular and sometimes moose and things too which may be a sign of a connection with Freyr and again still not a lot to go on. I'm not a particularly sexual person though so that makes me doubt that a little. I know quite a few lokeans on tumblr and some transgender people take him as their patron since he is a shapeshifter, I being transgender as well and just starting to really come out to people think maybe that change is something Loki has been waiting for but I don't really know otherwise why he would want me. Plus I think he would have given more clues or tried to make a game of it, which I guess could still be something he's doing. Heimdall...I have no idea why Heimdall would want me to be honest, he seems to be a very self sufficient god but hey, it just jumped out to me.

Basically what I'm opening up for discussion here is if anyone here has patron gods, could you share your experiences? Give me meditation tips so that I might figure out what they're trying to get across (if they even are trying at all even!). I wasn't all that focused on getting a patron but not gonna lie now that the possibility of a god wanting to make a connection with me is there it makes me really excited! But also nervous seeing as I'm not sure I could provide them with exactly what they're looking for and as you can probably tell I'm not particularly versed in signs or messages in case I'm doing something wrong. All help appreciated, even if you're not from the Norse Pantheon path.

Woop! Sorry, thank you. I'm definitely looking to do more research first because I'm obviously not the most sure or knowledgeable enough to figure out quite yet who it is. I know I sound strange for finding one thing and connecting it to a god, but I'm just grasping at things here hoping for something to go on. With Heimdall...I'm not sure why but I think the acute senses stuck out. I can't tell exactly why he sticks out all that well and that's maybe a sign that it's not him but I don't really want to rule him out yet since I still don't know very much. If you would like I can delete this topic and move myself over to that one?

I pray sometimes, on my own. For rituals, I basically go out at night on special holidays and say a prayer and pour some milk into the ground as a sort of offering. I should probably do more but I have zero idea what to do. Thanks for the advice, I suppose waiting is probably the best.
