This fight might be a bit of a challenge. Cass was a full-ranked hunter, and Nicodemus had apparently changed form in some way; Cass had said she needed practice, but it was entirely possible that the alteration would throw Jordan off as well. When you got used to the way someone fought with their weapon, a sudden change could startle you off your game. Jordan stretched lazily, summoned Ferros, and sank the spike atop the hammer's barrel into the ground so he could lean on his weapon, ignoring the dragon's good-natured grumbling. They were both looking forward to this.

Cass had been struggling, to some extent, with handling Nicodemus now that he'd adjusted to allow her a free hand when she needed it. Yet, a little time to play with the mechanics while relatively safe?
There was never anything wrong with that.
Cass offered a small wave as she walked out onto the training field, snapping the chain around her waist and taking a hold of the large blade that was summoned from it, awkwardly grasping empty air with her other hand, as if unsure what to do with it, before placing both of her hands onto the hilt of her weapon.
"Do you want to go first?"

Jordan took a moment to study Nicodemus curiously, taking in the change in his form. "Interesting," he said, and nodded, pulling Ferros out of the ground and making sure no dirt had cling to the spike of the hammer's finial before rolling his shoulders and stepping back into a combat stance. "You doing okay?"

Cass frowned. "Better than I could be. I've gotten so used to what I was doing before, that this has thrown me off a little bit." she confessed, grip loose as she fussed at one of the spikes of the hilt of the weapon. "Damn gun gets stuck....." she added, before leaving it alone and stepping back into a defensive position.

"Yeah, I can believe it. I'm glad Ferros never changed shape. Just size," Jordan said dryly, glancing at the hammer, whose head was now bigger than his hunter's torso. I can't help being large and magnificent, Ferros said, not sounding sorry at all. Jordan's mouth quirked in a smile. "Coming at you," he said cheerfully, and moved in to swing lazily at Cass. HP: 60/60 Dmg: 4 Charge: 1/3 demon_pachabel what was that d100 self srsly XD ok here you go!

"Well I'm ready for ya."
She grinned back at him - playful fun, after all. She certainly hoped he wouldn't be trying to kill her once her shield was down (unlike certain people she suspected would be). Lifting the large blade to defend her body from the brunt of the blow, she stepped back before bringing Nicodemus swinging upwards at Jordan.HP: 54/60 Damage: 13 Charge: 1/3

Nicodemus's blade caught Jordan in the open moment when Ferros's momentum kept him from moving to block in any way, striking with startling, precise force, and he staggered back, huffing a surprised breath. "You were definitely ready for me," he agreed, laughing.
He moved in with a quick step and brought Ferros around in a quick arc.
HP: 47/60

Charge: 1/3

Cass smiled for the brief moment before the swing of Ferros caught her in the side - something that probably would have hurt like a b***h in any other situation, but still stung through her shield as she moved to catch her footing.
Once she'd caught herself, she brought Nicodemus swinging around in a similar arc. "Y'know, I'm always impressed by you guys with the bigger momentum weapons like Ferros."

The blade sliced along his side, a bright, sliding sting that made Jordan hiss a little between his teeth. "Thanks," he answered. "We're not exactly a precision team, but we do well enough. I always did like physics. Although normal physics says I shouldn't be able to pick him up; I wonder what Life division has to say about that."
He stepped in and turned to bring Ferros swinging at her again, a tighter, shorter arc this time. "He's not an indoors weapon, though. I've been practicing with daggers for tight spots."

"And technically I should be a fleshy pile of dead on the ground - or at least have a lot of broken bones, so I'm not complaining about how the laws of anything are working right now."
She bit her lower lip as the hammer came back around again to strike her, fussing with Nicodemus' base still as she made her grand attempt to pull something out of it.
Still no dice, however, as she kept her strange 2-handed hold on her weapon, shifting her feet to make a more pointed (ha, punny) stab at Jordan with it while she continued to fuss.

Jordan gritted his teeth as Nicodemus pierced straight through him again; the Fear shield kept the blade from doing any physical damage, but it was always distinctly unnerving to know that something had just impaled you, even setting the sharp spike of pain aside. She's doing a lot of damage.I can flame, Ferros rumbled, the thought accompanied by the sense of wordless straining excitement that accompanied a full charge. Can she take it? Jordan studied Cass with narrowed eyes for a moment. They'd only traded a few blows, and the huntress wasn't yet showing the subtle tells of pain and weariness that he'd come to associate with a Fear shield that was almost ready to shatter. Okay, he decided, and stepped back and away for a moment, then turned sharply and spun, bringing the hammer around in a full circle. As they moved, Ferros burst into a brilliant ball of flame, his gleeful roar echoing in Jordan's head. HP: 29/60 Dmg: 17 Charge: 3/3

There was enough cracking in her shield for Cass to feel heat - burning - through it even through the force of contact as it flared through her, sending her stumbling back with a sort of half-shock. She hadn't been on fire in a long time.
Or briefly on fire as Nicodemus' shield attempted to swallow it - leaving a rather painful sound in her head. Strong, but fire hurt either way. For a brief moment, the weapon she held filled with light...and then it fizzled out into a sort of sickly flicker, causing Cass to look down at it with sudden concern.
No answer but a sickly sound in her head.

Jordan's eyebrows arched. "What was he, can I ask?" The moment of distraction was a good opening, and he wasn't going to go easy on her. He turned and brought Ferros around the other way, building up speed for a powerful strike. HP: 29/60 Dmg: 15 Charge: 1/3 | 1/2

"Tonberry." she replied. Which didn't really say much for her - as far as she knew he hadn't had fire issues before. Perhaps it was just her trying to make him do something more suddenly than he was ready for - and on that note, Jordan was on that same train of thought.
Sinking the blade into the ground to keep herself from stumbling, Cass seemed to finally fanagle that one spine out of the hilt, turning to point the gun on Jordan now that it was free and pulling the trigger.HP: 16/60 Damage: 10 Charge: 1/3 : 1/2

Bullets were a lot harder to dodge or block than blades, and Jordan was forced a step back as the shot knocked the air out of his chest. He was thoroughly grateful for the Fear shield. "You two are deadly," he said as he got his breath back. He reclosed the distance, bringing Ferros around in a sweeping upward stroke. HP: 19/60 Dmg: 9 Charge: 2/3 | 1/2
