Dean ran as fast as he could for that tinkling landmark in the distance - Figment Falls.
His fear of water was only overcome by his fear of icky goey monsters.
Surely a slime monster couldn't survive in water.

It wasn't long before, huffing and puffing, he came across one of the island's many SUVs.
Like, the place was basically LOUSY with them.
He opened the door and fetched the keys from the glove compartment, and started the engine.
Dean sincerely hoped whomever had driven last had been considerate enough to gas up.

He drove largely offroad, car bumping along over the many dips and rocks and the occasional corpse -
Every once in a while, a splurt of blood across the window necessitated the use of the windshield wipers. At least, he reflected distantly, they'd been decent enough to keep the wiper fluid filled.

"POODLES!"
A nightmarish beast lumbered across the road. It was part-man, part-horse, and all intimidating muscles and pecs.
It rather reminded Dean of the many members of the football team who had habitually stuffed him in lockers during his more youthful years.
He floored it, but the ripplingly masculine horse-beast managed to keep pace.
Even in a car, he couldn't outrun being a loser.

Just as the centaur was about level with the driver's side window, something semi-miraculous happened.
A tree appeared.
Apparently the horse-man had been so intent on it's target, he hadn't heeded the law of the jungle. Well, the law of George of the Jungle.
Dean hated that movie, and he ruminated on that memory as he sped off into the sunset.
