Layla drove away from Lab B, she wasn't going to follow Dr Moore around like a fool especially if he wouldn't even have the decency to kill her if things went sour. She was trying to drive and figure out where to go her hands kept going tight and tense on the steering wheel every few moments. She was trying to process all the knew information she had received and cope with the horrors mounting around her.

She gasped and jerked the steering wheel to avoid a falling tree branch that was bigger than the car.
The sound of the branch scraping away metal and the wonder park logo on the side of the SUV made her shiver. Okay, eyes on the road, focus on getting somewhere and ten have a mental break down. Where was she gonna go?!

Layla screamed as she suddenly swerved and the rest of a tree crashed down making the SUV bounce and almost flip. She gasped softly and for a moment her leg refused to move off the breaks. Her heart thundered in her ears and she sucked in deep breaths. Oh God...oh god...okay...as much as she didn't want to die eaten she really didn't want to die right this second either, she wanted to live, she wanted to escape...escape...one of the boat houses! She hastily opened the glove compartment and rifled through it yanking out a map. She wasn't terribly far from the eastern boat house, maybe if she could get there and get on a boat...yes it was her best bet for now. She pulled the car into reverse and tried to drive it out from under the fallen tree.

Her arms were shaking but she put the car back in drive and turned to take the road back east. Okay, deep breaths, she had a plan now and everything was gonna be okay. She was trying not to be hysterical or afraid, the babies liked fear so she couldn't....creatures...not her babies...but she still didn't think she'd have the guts to try and...gut one. She'd never even dissipated one.

Just as she was starting to calm down and think things might be okay she glanced at the map to be sure she was on the right road. That was when something slammed into the side of the car probably a huge chunk of building rolling down. She screamed and grabbed the steering wheel gasping and frantically clawing for her seat belt as the car was thrust over the road edge and teetered precariously. She stiffened as the seat belt unclicked and whipped her shoulder as it retracted. Her fingers edged to the door and she gave a little sob of terror as the car slowly started to groan and fall forward.
"Oh God...please..." She slowly started to push the door and then screamed again as the car slid forward another few inches.
It was now or never, she flung open the door and threw herself out scrambling for purchase in the dirt as the car made squealing noises and then fell over the edge landing with a deafening crash. She felt the heat from below as the gas tank ignited and struggled to climb up.
She threw herself sobbing onto the side of the road and lay there for a long while uncertain if she shouldn't just give up.
"Why...why me..."

Layla might have just lain there until something came along and got her, but she knew that she was damn close to the boat house. She sniffed and slowly sat up rubbing her tears away. She had escaped that car accident with barely a scratch, maybe it was a sign, maybe she was going to make it. She looked down at her untied shoes and hastily tied them up, double knotted. She rubbed her eyes a few more times and gulped the air.
"You are going to get up and keep going, you're still alive and you can't quit when...when there's hope." She nodded to herself and got shakily to her feet starting to jog towards the eastern boat house. Her stomach gurgled unhappily, if she was feeling this hungry then...she hated to think of how the babies...creatures felt.
She smiled as she saw the boat house and rushed for it, but she should have been slightly more patient because some creature was tearing something apart and chunks of splintered wood came flying over her. Luckily a flying piece only scratched her arm before she rushed for cover.
