Ok so, an interesting topic that's been swimming through my head lately. It first started when on one of the Kemetic forums I'm on someone posted asking about other Kemetic deities that were involved with writing because her relationship with Djehuty imploded.

So I want to start a discussion because I'm curious and it'd do the guild some good. Even just for a little bit.

So the discussion. Have you ever seen or heard about a human-deity relationship going sour? What did they do? What do you think someone should do if it does happen? Why do you think it happens?

It happens. It's not much different in my mind than any other sort of relationship going south - I think of the Gods much as I'd think of any other individual. Personalities can clash, people change over time, we end up in different circumstances, slights or insults happen - all those things can compromise a relationship into coming apart.

One of the harder lessons of adult life is that friendships can be, and often are, transient. Not everyone we meet or associate with is a friend for life. Deities and spirits are no different. We pass like trains in the night.

Sometimes you can repair the damage done. Other times you simply have to move on and learn to live with it.

And why do you think that quite a few people are in the mindset that if something like that happen it could never possibly be the deity's fault that it had to be the person's fault?

I'd guess because those people don't believe that their deities could possibly be imperfect, or have human characteristics. Not every religion does, and I understand that.

Its kinda sad that people won't face that fact. I mean yeah I struggle with it. But I have high expectations of people too.

I was just so shocked at how many people were all like "What the hell did you do? Djehuty's the ultimate teacher. Yadda yadda yadda." In a you better fix it kind of tone. And only one person flat out said "Good for you sticking to your guns."
