Things were looking good today. The sun was nice and bright out. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky as far as the eye could see. It seemed like the perfect afternoon to sit back, relax, and enjoy her day for once. Not that she didn’t enjoy her days prior to today. Each day was filled with miles traveled, soquili of all kinds passing by her day after day. Sanyue certainly enjoyed it. She enjoyed listening to conversations, learning about other soquili. Their stories. Each one was so unique and different. She had learned a lot so far during her time traveling around the kawani lands. Today, however, today was something special. Something different. The wind caressing her feathers spoke of change. A welcoming change at least. And Sanyue truly didn’t mind. Reaching the underbrush heading into the forest, Sanyue gave a wistful smile to the sun overhead. While beautiful, it was very warm. It’d be better for her and her darker tinted coat to stay within the trees and relax by a body of water. It was something she learned while living in the desert. No doubt used to the hot temperatures, but since moving south she’d found comfort in the lesser temperatures.
Heading inside her claws dug lightly lightly into the cool dirt. The trees creating a canopy over head body. Her feathers were warm against her coat, but quickly cooling the further she went into the shade. It felt like an amazing contradiction. In doing so her mind began to wander a bit. Wondering how her people back home were doing. What they were doing. How the leaders were dealing with acclimating to a new life free of control. Sometimes she found herself wondering what would have happened if she stayed in her desert home.
Would she be further into the life of a leader?
Would the elder have kept her on as an advisor?
Would the herd have even agreed to it?
Either way Sanyue looked at it things were not meant to be back at home. And besides that if she did go back wishing to go further in the life of a leader she needed to be as well rounded in lore and world events as possible. Which was why she had been toying with the idea of creating a log of all the new types of creatures, trees, plants, and more to take back home. Knowledge was power. Knowledge was key to a good leader. At least that’s what Sanyue thought. Any knowledge she gained out here would be imperative to her home’s security and future. So she’d be happy to travel outside her comfort zone to obtain that helpful knowledge.
“Ah, there we are,” Sanyue murmured softly to herself as she happened upon a relatively small clearing with a pool of sparklingly clear water, “perfect.”
