Rising to his paws amid the clink of armor, the male Winiko yawned and stretched lazily. Enough lounging about. There was still work to do.
Granted, there was far less to do now than there had been; before, there was far more to do than could be done by any number of Winiko, no matter how many he had at his command. And now? Peace-keeping. Not the most exciting work, but there was still a scuffle now and then to keep things lively.
And isn't that how it had all started so long ago? Keeping the peace?
He chuckled softly to himself as the memories flooded his mind, green eyes glittering beneath his helm. The recruiting, the training, the preparations to quell the rebellion? Of course, rather than furniture, they'd had other demons to fight, but he'd had the right idea, wrong foe.
Bounding lightly to the top of a small boulder, he rebounded as soon as his paws hit stone, aiming for a still-taller rock. Balanced, eyes narrowing beneath his helm, he surveyed the land ahead. The war may be over, but peace was still a distant goal.
