The next time Abhisneha visits her well, she will find several Tainted piranhas thriving at the bottom. The presence of Taint in the once pure magical waters corrupts any wish made while the water is polluted.

The Goddess of the Wishing Well was tasked with the duty to keep the magical waters clean and pure. She must now cleanse and purify the waters, restoring the former enchantment.

She only has until the beginning of February before the effects of the Taint become permanent and the Well is forever lost to Telrunya.

((It is up to you how you resolve this matter. Further prompts will come when Abhisneha as completed her task, either successfully or not.))

Abby stretched, having made her way to the woods around her well. She was still getting used to the idea of taking care of the well, not wanting any other pae to know she kept such a pretty thing all to herself and her family. It wasn't like she wasn't willing to see or know about the well, the female just didn't feel like telling anyone yet. Not after she tried to save that teenager from having fallen down in it.

It wasn't like she wouldn't have done the same thing for anyone else if they had fallen into the well. The thought still brought a smile to her lips. That was someone's baby girl, and she had managed to save them both. Today, she was planning on checking on the well, maybe weeding the area around it. She'd left her children and Aiolos at home so she could work on her well. It wasn't the first time, but it wouldn't be the last either. But she had taken some time away from it when the children were younger. Now they were older and more able to take care of themselves. Far less of a hassle to leave them for a day or two while she cleaned the well.

Today, Abby was especially excited to visit the well. While she wasn't sure what it was she felt, it just felt like there was fluttering inside or something. That was silly though, wasn't it? There was no way she should be feeling a fluttering. Or was there? There was something different about her well than the other parts of the isle she had visited, however little that may be. But then, her father was a magical erote and her grandmother was Venus. Magic was strong in her blood wasn't it? Maybe she could tell if there was something inside her well or something like that. She'd never really thought about it.

"Today... I'm gonna look at the stuff at the bottom of the well!" She grinned, making a commitment to herself. She'd felt something down there when she'd saved Ayala from it. Or had she heard something? Either way, Abby was certain there was stuff at the bottom of the well that she wanted to look at. Which meant she would have to figure out how to get back up. She panicked before, maybe that was the way to get out of the well. It was pretty far down in the ground and all that. But the water level wasn't too high. Abhisneha took a moment to consider this, thinking the water was trapped in there. That or it would fill up from the ground naturally wouldn't it?

With a shrug, the demi-goddess pulled aside a branch to walk into the tiny clearing where her well sat. She smiled wide seeing it. It felt like a friend she hadn't seen in a long time. How silly! she thought, Wells can't be friends with you! but then, perhaps she could be familiar with the area. It would be terrible if she didn't like the area. Then she never would've wanted to clean it up and make it look pretty. As soon as she figured out why this well meant so much to her, Abby planned on trying to plant flowers around and get them to grow. It would be so cute!
PostPosted: Fri Jan 10, 2014 8:04 pm

Abby was almost there, she could see the edge of the clearing now. After toiling away at it for so long, she had finally gotten the weeds and the overgrowth of the plants to get their annoying little butts out of there. The clearing finally looked like a clearing again, if a little bare. She smiled, looking upon it. This represented so much hard work, and she only wanted it to look gorgeous.

It was about the time she set foot in the clearing that she finally felt a serious fluttering. It was like there was something alive here. Deep blue eyes scoured the field in front of her, looking for anything, just something that might be in her clearing. There hadn't been critters before, but she'd never thought about it. Maybe they were just hiding because she was doing so much work? Alas, there were no critters. She sighed, wishing she hadn't been so excited to have critters come to visit her well. But it wasn't like she had expected them to show up.

But the fluttering just wouldn't go away. With a frown, she advanced to the well. There were... There was something moving down there! Abby let out a squeal, swinging a leg over the rock wall to jump to the bottom of the well. It was deep enough down she'd have to go down to see what it was before she could possibly figure out how to help it!

Oh Guardians she was worried about whatever critter it was that was down there! "Hold on little guy, I'm coming!" She called, pulling her other leg over the wall and finally letting go.

Splash!

Ow!

Abby squeaked, something was biting her! She squeaked again, there was more than one something! Oh no, no, no, no! the demi-goddess thought, there's something terrible inside my well! I've got to get rid of this. She panicked, trying to get back up the well before whatever it was that was biting her got too far into the task. Oh guardians she didn't want to get eaten!

Pop! She was at the top of the well again. What? That was weird. She shook herself to clear the willies.

Abby looked at her leg, something had taken a chunk of it out. She winced, trying not to put pressure on it. There was something mean down there! The blue pae leaned over the side of the well, trying to get a better look. All she could see was that it was moving.

"Hey you mean things! Get out of my well!" She fussed, leaning heavily on the well. She had to get whatever it was out of the well.

How though? Abby leaned back and then proceeded to plop onto the ground. Her leg hurt and she had something terrible in her well. This was not a fun day anymore. If it bit her when she splashed into the water, it was probably a meat eater right? She pondered this, trying to figure out how to lure the things out. She could go find a critter and lower it into the well and get them to try and attack the critter.. But that would be mean.

Could she risk using herself as bait again? Abby ran a hand through the thick curls atop her head. She didn't have much of a choice did she? Hurt a cute woodland critter, or use herself as bait. Whatever it was, she needed to get those mean things out of her well and fast.

Abby sucked in a deep breath of air, resigned to use herself as bait to get that terrible thing out of her well. This was going to hurt. Badly. She winced, pulling herself upright one more time. If she kept popping out of the well like she did, it might work... She just had to make sure she got all of the things out. She got that Ayala out just fine that way right?

The demi limped to the side of the well, leaned heavily on it while she swung the most damaged leg over the side. At least the chunks missing out of it were small... For now. With a grunt, the other leg was dangling into the well. The landing was going to hurt. Especially if there was trinkets at the bottom of it. The thought of slicing her foot open on top of a really hurt leg... Abby didn't want to think about it. Hopefully every thing would be alright. It had to be.

One more deep breath, and she pushed herself to drop down into the waters below.

SPLASH!

Abby landed in the waters once more. Her leg was already pretty badly injured, which only served to bring whatever nasty things it was inside the well, straight to her. She whimpered, trying not to scream as she let them attach to her legs. When she was relatively certain that all the mean things were either chewing on her legs or stuffed full of her, Abby took a deep breath. Sure it was shaky, but it was there. She had to center herself to pop back out of the well. Centering herself also meant the parts inside the bellies of the mean things.

Exhaling, Abby imagined herself and all the mean things outside the well. Picturing herself safe and sound and the mean things on the ground. Flopping like little fishies.

Pop!

Abby finally let out that scream, she'd pulled those mean things out with her. They were really mean looking fish! And her legs were pretty nasty looking too. She whimpered, trying not to look at her legs so long as she knew the mean fishies weren't in her well anymore.

"Bad fishies!" She fussed, wiggling her finger at them. She didn't have it in her to scold more than that. Her legs hurt and she knew her well was safe.

Oh no! Abhisneha has exposed herself to the Taint. The Tainted piranhas' bite was infectious. She succeeded in removing the beasties from the well. But she failed to cleanse the magical waters. But don't worry, there's still time. The waters still have a couple weeks before the Taint fully takes over.

=======================

A pink, chubby little mellon in a diaper flitted about, poking at Abhisneha. He has a letter to deliver.

Quote:
My Dearest Granddaughter,

It is my privilege to personally invite you to my ENGAGEMENT PARTY on February 14, the Day of Love! You may bring a date if you like. There will be dancing, food, a string band and lots of tributes to Me!

Requested Gift:
A wish from your beautiful, enchanted well!

Love Always,
Venus ~

Abby blinked, looking up at the chubby mellon. It was... It had a what was that, paper? It was a mellon, and it looked like one of her grandmother's.. Maybe it was a letter? She held her hand out for the letter, having no idea what it might say or contain even.

A wish from your beautiful, enchanted well! Wait wait wait, Venus knew about the well? How the.. "How does she know about the well?" Abby looked back to the mellon, lost. She was in pain and utterly confused. There couldn't have been a way that anyone but Aiolos and her knew about the well. She hadn't told anyone else! "She knows about my well?"

The mellon grinned, gossip was his favorite. There was always good gossip from the great goddess Venus. "Mistress Venus gave you your well!" He chimed, fluttering his little wings.

Gave her her well? What? But that meant... This was a gift and she was treating it poorly! How could she possibly live with herself after knowing that?

"How could she give me a well? No wait, don't answer that. Why didn't I know this well was mine?" Abby frowned. "I don't want to know that either, Venus has her reasons right?" She looked at the mellon. He looked like a little gossipy thing. Getting a nod out of him, in answer to the last question she voiced, Abby moved on to something a little more... Important.

"Can I grant wishes?" She had a well, it only stood to reason she could grant wishes right? It grinned in response before fluttering off. Oh great, she didn't really get her question answered. That mellon just left her with more questions than it did with answers.

Abby sighed, looking at her legs. She'd need to heal them before she could go back into the waters. But how to manage that... Or should she?

Abby had decided to give things a few days, figure out what was going on in her head before she returned to her well. At least, she thought, the well did belong to her. She sighed, running a hand through her curly locks. She'd managed to make it to the healing house and get her legs treated. The look on Aiolos' face was something to remember though.

The demi-goddess sighed, trying to figure out what she was going to do. She'd gotten bad news at the healing house, having been told something wasn't quite right. She wasn't sure what it was herself, but she trusted the fae there enough to believe something was wrong. She'd also been told that she had to fix it herself, they couldn't do anything for her. That had worried her greatly. Abby knew she had to get back to her well, and fast. If something was wrong with her, there had to be something wrong with the well too! There couldn't be anything wrong with that well. It was a gift and she had to take care of it as best she could!

At least she'd figured out how to travel to the well quicker. She closed her eyes, concentrating on the well, and POP! Abby grinned, happy to have figured out that little trick. She'd done it enough while trying to get those stupid mean fishies out of the waters. But now she was faced with another issue. How to make sure her and the waters were clean! And to get a wish from the well for her grandmother.

She closed her eyes, leaning over the well. She'd managed to get those mean fishies out, but she'd left something in there. Abby could feel it now. She didn't know what it was, but she knew something was wrong with her and with the well. Of course, it was tipped off by the lovely fae down at the healing house, but it was still there. Abby frowned, trying to think of how she could fix this.

There wasn't anything she could think of, but she knew she had to fix the well. She'd never done anything like this before, it was hard for her to think about how to fix this. Abby had just learned so much in such a short amount of time, it was almost scary. She shuddered to think of how much she still didn't know about the well and everything she could do to help it. She had a feeling she could do anything it needed. But what would it cost her to fix it? The demi-goddess sighed, pulling on a particularly irritated curl. What was she going to do to get that nasty stuff out of her and the well? Abby hoped there wasn't much of the nasty stuff, but she couldn't be sure. It wasn't like she knew what she was doing.

But then, she knew how to transport herself to the base of her well. Maybe the rest of it would be that easy? Or just come to her like the popping thing she did.

Abby leaned over her well, looking down at it. There had to be something she could do. Anything really. She had to find a wish from the well for her grandmother, but how was she going to do that? She still had no idea how to clean up that nasty mess those mean fishies left!

She grumbled, deciding on getting into the waters of her well to see if anything at the bottom would give her a hint. She'd heard stuff down there before, but she couldn't remember how or why. She even knew there was stuff down there! Abby had stepped on a few of them in her few ventures into the well. Maybe that was the answer!

Grinning, Abby jumped in, splashing water around a bit when she landed. She knew she'd had a good idea when she felt things settle back in by her feet. They felt friendly, at least to her. The blue female took in a deep breath, ducking her head under the waters to reach down and grab something that was on the bottom of her well. She didn't realize there was so much stuff down there! Having her hands full of multiple trinkets, she resurfaced. It didn't feel like she'd been down there long, but from how out of breath she was, it must've taken her a minute or two to pick out which ones she wanted to bring to the top.

There was so much pretty stuff in her hands! But wait, she had heard stuff before, what was she not doing right this time? Or the last couple of times she had landed in the well? Abby frowned, looking at everything she'd brought up. There was a lot, but she knew if they were wishes she couldn't possibly try and grant all of them. Could she? Not right now at least. The demi-goddess sighed, looking from item to item. She had to pick something to start with.

Finally, she settled on just a plain looking marble. It wasn't anything special, but it felt like someone had loved it once. Maybe they still did, but she couldn't tell. At least not right now. She closed her eyes, trying to concentrate on getting back to the base of her well. It was while she was concentrating on getting back to the surface when she saw it.

It was just a glowing white thread, just at the back of her mind. If she looked away she knew she'd loose it. Abby, shocked, opened her eyes to try and dispell the vision of the thread. That had never happened before! She blinked, looking down at the marble. Maybe it had something to do with her well? Abby pondered this, putting effort into making the transition to the top of the well.

POP!

Abby grinned, turning the marble about in her hand. Maybe there was a wish in this that she could try. But she had to figure out what that glowing thread was all about before then. This was going to be very very fun.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 25, 2014 1:55 pm

Abby was still turning the marble about in her hand. She knew she was going to love doing this. It seemed like so much fun already, she just hadn't figured out how to do it yet. Abby had noticed that there was something there in the back of her mind. Now that she'd seen it, it didn't seem to want to go away. That concerned her a little, but she tried to pay it no mind. There was other stuff she wanted to figure out first. Mostly like trying to get this thing to make a wish!

But, how did she do that? The demi-goddess paced, looking at the marble in her hand. It seemed simple enough. Maybe that thread was part of the whole process. That was a good place to start. She walked back over to the wall of the well, intending on setting down the marble. She wanted to stare at it while she concentrated. As soon as her skin lost contact with it, the thread in her mind disappeared! Abby blinked, finally closing her eyes. No, it was gone! She looked around for anything that might have made her loose that connection. Maybe it was that nasty stuff that wasn't quite right with her? She frowned, picking up the marble again. And she sensed it. There was that thread again.

Well, that explained something at least. "What is wrong with you?" She grumbled, talking to the marble. "I don't even know what to do here!" Abby fussed, walking away from the well. She just wanted to sit a distance off. Sure, it felt better to be near it, but she was trying to grant a wish off a marble that could get lost easily in the grass growing on the edges of her well. If she was out in the plain dirt, it was much easier. Abby noted that she'd have to plant some flowers when the weather was much much warmer. It was far too cold to be doing that right then.

She'd been sitting on the cold dirt for at least an hour, just trying to concentrate on that little marble. The femme had only made a little progress, at the start of the entire thing. She was getting nowhere, and fast. Sighing, Abby closed her eyes and held the marble up to her face.

"Just a little hint? A tiny one?" She pleaded, trying to figure out what was going on. But there was that little thread again. It was just sitting there, waiting for her to follow it. Now was as good a time as any right? Abby sighed, mentally reaching out towards that thread, looking for where it went. And that was all it took! She fought the urge to open her eyes and blink, shocked at what she was hearing. There really was a wish attached to this little marble! And she could hear it! She had no idea if the pae that made it was still alive, but she knew there was a wish attached to it! Once it had played itself out, her eyes opened, looking wondrously at the little marble in her hand. It was so very special, to her and the pae that had placed it inside the well. Oh Guardians, this was amazing!

"I've gotta tell Aiolos!" She squealed, scrambling her way off the ground. "But wait, maybe I should... Should I try and grant the wish? Or maybe..." Abby grinned, "I bet I could wish this nasty thing free of me and my well!" The goddess couldn't help but smile. She'd finally thought of something to fix both problems. Well, mostly. Now that she was off the ground, Abby decided to stash her marble by the well. There was a little nook there she could hide things in before she got off to see her man.

Safely storing her marble behind a loose stone, Abby stood upright and cracked her back. Off to see Aiolos and tell him all the exciting things she had found out today! And maybe find a trinket of her own to make a wish with.
