Ah, what a fine day for a picnic!
... By himself.
Well, not quite by himself. Mao-Mao the doll was always there to keep him company, and the best part about Mao Mao was he needed no sustenance. That meant more Swedish Fish for Li Shou.
The boil had dragged out his favorite blanket with an ornate picnic basket containing an oriental tea set and a lovely bowl filled to the rim with his favorite candy. Why did he go on picnics? Short-term nostalgia. It was an activity the boil had done often with his mother and sisters. Even hundreds of miles away, he felt it only appropriate to keep the tradition alive.
He set it up quietly, placing Mao-Mao at the other end of the blanket as he sat indian style and poured himself a cup of oolong tea. "Do you think Mama is still having picnics without me, Mao-Mao?"
The doll, of course, did not answer, but Li Shou nodded cockily as if something snarky had been said. "Yes, of course. She probably doesn't have the time between taking care of my sisters and missing me." He sipped from his tea cup before pouring Mao-Mao a cup of his own. Just for show, of course. "Any minute now, she'll be here begging for me back." And each time he told himself that, the boil did so with less and less conviction. He had already been here for a month, after all.
"... Any minute..." A nervous chuckle followed as he popped a Swedish fish into his mouth.

It wasn't a surprise that Helmut was hungry. She had just come from class, and after a whole two hours of not eating, she was desperate. So much so that the moment she caught the scent of delicious candy and tea, she stalked it. The ghoul ended up on her belly, military crawling along the ground where the scent was the strongest, until eventually she found someone sitting on a picnic blanket. Well, someone and a stuffed toy. The latter wasn't too much of a worry - because toys generally didn't pose threats - and the former had their back to her, which was perfect. Her military crawl continued at a much slower pace, her gaze alternating between the bowl of candy and the boil, stopping every moment he spoke in fear that she had been caught. Every time she stopped she pulled her skull helmet down further, doing her best impression of an already dead thing.
Until, finally, the bowl was right there. She could see each little piece of candy. It was right there.
Helmut simply couldn't wait any longer, and finally tried reaching out for the candy. A tiny claw stretched out from the layers of tattered old fabrics, trying to make a grab for the whole bowl, concentrating so hard her tongue stuck out between her sharp teeth.

Sadly, Li Shou was none the wiser to his hungry faux fish assailant. Any rustling or moving he might have heard with his giant ears was just taken as peasants getting where they needed to be.
The cat boil lifted his head and closed his eyes to take another sip of tea, finally realizing something was amiss when his bowl was disappearing at a rapid pace. Li Shou's tail prickled, the bell tied to it giving a quick jingle as the appendage stiffened. Before he realized it, the hot tea had been dropped in his lap, and a scream of both anger and pain quickly followed. Obscenities from another language were shouted as he reached out in an attempt to reclaim his bowl.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!"

Suddenly, everything was loud.
No matter how hungry she was, the boil's horrific screeching made her release the bowl immediately, face-planting into the ground and curling tiny fingers into the wide eye socket of her massive helm, pulling it against the ground in an attempt to hide. Which was all well and good of course, if she weren't screaming too.
"I'M SORRY! I'MREALLYSORRYITSMELLEDGOODI'MSORRY!" There was a tiny pause that followed, and a droopy blue eye peeked out from under the helm's eye socket. "canihaveone?" Her stomach growled loudly, as if trying to help her case.

And now they were both screaming. Must have been quite a sight to passers-by.
As soon as the bowl was released, Li Shou picked it up and held it over his head as he stood, desperate to keep his treasure safe.
The boil's multicolored eyes remained wide as he caught his breath and assessed the situation. Okay. So here was this... Thing that had tried to nab his precious candy without so much as a 'how do you do', but worse than that it looked like her mother and father had both been coat racks at a homeless shelter, thus birthing this patchy abomination.
To him, she was the very definition and lowest class of peasant.
A cruel smile crossed the cat sidhe's lips as he lowered the bowl into his cradling arms and popped one into his mouth. "Thisch is high clasch candy." Li Shou both chewed and spoke with his mouth open. "You're not allowed to have any."
Nevermind the fact that spilling the tea gave him a precarious 'i might have just peed myself' look.

When he didn't hit her, she ventured to peel the helm a little further back, taking in more of the well dressed boil who was holding the bowl high above his head. The longer there was no violence the more she unfolded herself, until she was sitting on her knees on the ground, though she still looked up at him through an eyesocket.
"...They are not!" Helmut whined out, pouting in both expression and voice. "Those'r swedish fish!" The ghoul reached up, pointing at him accusingly. "You're just being mean!"

Li Shou's smile didn't falter, even when Helmut called his bluff. "So?" The boil tossed a couple more into his mouth. "You're juthst being poor!"
chomp chomp chomp. "Thiths is my picnic and you weren't invited~" The boil teased and swallowed. "Not that anyone would invite a walking hand-me-down anywhere!"

"...M'not poor..." Helmut whimpered, deflating at the jab to her upbringing. The ghoul looked down at her tattered clothing, the layers that kept her warm. She supposed they did look ratty, but then again, she was a very active little creature. He continued to talk down to her and she continued to deflate, feeling sorry for herself in the face of such a terrible boil. Nobody had ever been so mean to her before. Not even Hel, who had once strung her from the flag pole.
Then, suddenly, she grabbed a nearby stone and threw it at him as hard as she could.
"Don't be mean!" She cried. "At least I don't look like I wet myself like a little scareling!"

Did he feel good for picking on someone smaller than him? Unfortunately, yes. It hadn't happened at home often, if at all, because Li Shou was both the smallest and the youngest of his family. His father had pointed that fact out often. The more she deflated, the more he laughed, until the tables vastly turned.
The cat boil took the rock to the side of his face, tumbling over and dropping the expensive looking bowl. Luckily, the bowl only chipped, but all of it's contents were dumped on the grass.
Li Shou laid there for a moment, unmoving, before his hand reached up to touch his bleeding cheek. "M-m-m..." He started to whimper, tears beginning to form in his eyes.
"MAAAMAAAAAAA!" He wailed, rolling around and holding his cheek as if he was being tortured. "It hurts! It hurts!"
Looked like someone hadn't faced many hardships growing up.

Helmut watched with shock and awe as her rock not only hit true, but also managed to draw something from him that she never expected. He started to scream for his Mother like a little scareling, and she could only stare. What happened to all that bravo before? The more he screamed the more she started to feel bad for him despite it all, but not quite enough to go and comfort the stupid, arrogant boil. No. First and foremost she sat herself down beside the spilled candies, eating them by the handful and barely stopping to chew. A snack and a show, what more could she ask for?
The candies were beginning to run out and she sighed, finally sliding over to sit beside him as he flailed around. He was mean to her, but, well, she did hit him with a rock.
"Are you dying?" The ghoul asked, tossing a candy in her mouth.

Li Shou had no idea that his candies were being devoured. He was too busy thrashing about and crying for a woman who more than likely couldn't hear him. He was in pain! He was bleeding! Where was she to clean his wounds and kiss him on the forehead and tell him that everything would be alright?!
When the ghoul finally sat beside him, the boil looked like a hot mess. His fur was all frizzed and strung about which way from rolling on the ground, cheek a mass of red, eyes practically a shiny rainbow with all the irritation crying had caused them. "Y-yes! I'm b-b-bleeding!"
Wait... Had that been... His candy?
Suddenly the wailing became louder.
"And you're eating my candyyyyyyy!"

Helmut tilted her head so far to the side her cheek nearly touched her shoulder. She let out a slow series of chitters, trying to figure out why he was freaking out so much. Yes she had thrown a rock at him, but it didn't look that bad? Maybe he just didn't like blood?
"So?" She licked her fingers clean and then placed her hand on his forehead, keeping him in place so she could wipe the 'wound' with the sleeve of her other hand. "Is just blood. Scareling." His wail for louder and she tried to figure out what he was so upset about. She couldn't figure it out, and not even eating more of his candies made her understand why he was so upset. Instead she decided to avoid thinking about it, and kept eating his candies...though this time she offered him one.
"Didin you ever play fight with your pack mates?"

So? SO?!
The cat boil's heart began pounding against his chest when he felt a wet hand on his forehead. Li Shou wiggled as the ghoul wiped his cheek clean, uncomfortable at the idea of her touching his open wound... Though there wasn't much he could really do about it. Nor was there anything he could do about her eating his candy. Each piece the wendigo devoured took with it a piece of his confidence. He was helpless. The longer he went without someone taking care of him, the more he began to understand just how ******** he was.
But a calm within the storm arrived. The cat sidhe reluctantly reached out to pluck the candy from her, not quite up to the task of eating it yet, what with his eyes a watery mess and his nose running like Niagara Falls.
"N-no..." He sniffled. At least he was starting to calm down. "M-m-my sisters tried to pick on me but Mama always sent them away..."

"Not pick on...Play-fight!" Still, the ghoul looked entirely confused. How could a boil not have play fought before? She didn't notice that the candy she had been holding had went missing - indeed, she thought she had already eaten it - and just reached down to blindly find another. So he had never play fought with his pack before? That was weird. This boil was weird.
"Whabout your Daddy? Didin he playfight?" Her Father play fought with her often. She'd always win, too! Her head tilted again as she brought what she thought was a candy to her lips. When she discovered it was a twig, well, it didn't stop her any. Rows of serrated teeth tore through the bark and wood as if it were nothing, and after the second twig she figured something was up, and looked down. "Someone ate your candy!"

"It's the same thing!" Li Shou defended, shoving the Swedish fish in his mouth with a quick movement. At least, his mother had convinced him that it was.
His fingers tapped together at mention of his father, glance shifting to the side. "Baba... I mean Father, used to try, but I never wanted to so Mama told him to stop." Li Shou looked back in time to see the horror that was the twig being ripped apart.
What had he just gotten himself into?
His stare looked bleak as he refused to take his eyes off of her, worried that she might still be hungry. "T-they fight a lot because of me." He feigned the blame a lot, trying to convince himself that his dad was the bad guy. He was the reason the family was strained.
Li Shou finally sat up at mention of his candy. "Yeah someone ate it! You did!" The boil yelled and folded his arms across his chest. "What are you, a pig monster?!"
