This ORP is intended to keep the Flutters united in their story arc, and to help eliminate any misconceptions or misinformation regarding how they live, or their role in the metaplot. My hope is that I can do these ORPs often so we can keep their story going so new players will be able to join seamlessly.
Goals of this RP:
This RP is a 'beginning' where Belwen calls all the flutters together for a meeting to get everyone up to speed. Indilwen is also MIA. None of her own flutters know where she is. Worried, they've turned to their queen's rival. All current adult flutters, from both trees, are to be assumed at this meeting, except Indilwen. The investigation to find out what happened to Indilwen will kick off. The Southern Tree will have their jobs/roles assigned.
Attn: Harn Sheedhiel Flutters: please contact Antidia if you are interested in your flutter having a job in the southern three. Positions are the same as they are in the northern tree, Forn Sheedhiel. They're not newly assigned and are to be assumed to be the duty the flutter had ever since the establishment of their colony.
Seed Tender & Harvester Wood & Flora Mender (heals the tree & surrounding flora - nature healing power required) Tree Watchers - (sentries & protectors) Gardeners - (gathering & growing; food suppliers) Cooks - (food prep) Druid (healer - healing power required) Water Gatherers - (gathers from wells - they do not have indoor plumbing)
Please have their powers reflect their roles, or vice versa. Role does not provide extra powers and abilities.
Notes:
I will attempt to keep track of all Flutters naturally born in the Tree. Those found in the "wild" and raised by normal Pae will not be a part of any colony until it happens via RP. Only then will I include them in these firesides Flutters that are hybrids of faun and faeries are also not a part of these colonies nor can they move in to the trees yet (In the future they can, just not yet because they're not even known to exist to Rais). They physically look different. They're larger and have different wings. They also do not possess the ability to transform themselves into butterflies or alter there size. Updates to the story will be included in each info post preceding a new ORP, such as this one.
RP to follow this post + tags for all Flutter players.

Belwen, Queen of the Forn Sheedhiel flutters, sworn rival of the queen of Harn Sheedhiel, and now host to a fireside she never imagined would ever happen. All of the flutters - except one - from Harn (south) Sheedhiel would be present. In her Tree. She was a ball of nerves and suspicious of each and every one of them. She trusted them about as far she could-- now that's not true. She could probably throw them pretty far. She trusted them about as far she could throw their Tree. Yes, better simile. The presence of her colony - her family - made it less nerve-wracking.
She paced in circles around the hearth in the center of the atrium of Forn Sheedhiel. The sun started to set, and the glowing fire of the hearth lit the entire base inside the Tree. Shadows dancing on the walls continued to capture the queen's attention. She wouldn't put it past those Harn Flutters to be sneaky and hide in the shadows.
As the flutters finished their duties for the day, and started trickling down to the atrium, Belwen flew upwards towards the large archway on the third storey that served as entrance to the Tree. She pushed open the sturdy doors just wide enough to allow their guests in. She smiled and greeted each as they entered.
With a glance to the Western sky, the last visible sliver of the sun disappeared on the horizon. It's time.
She pulled the doors closed and secured the safety latch (designed to keep intruders out, not flutters in). The entrance of Forn Sheedhiel remained hidden from view for another night.
After the initial chatter of the flutters in attendance quieted, Belwen cleared her throat and began the first ever meeting to include both colonies; all of the flutters. With the exception of the one flutter that was most important to the Harn Flutters - their queen.
"Welcome sisters and brothers. There are only a few weeks left of the growing season, so it's crunch time before the harvest begins. There is still much work to be done before we start storing for the winter. This year, we will be aiding our Sister Tree with their harvest."
She paused for effect. Extra work, especially for the rivals, was not good news.
"Before I delve into those details, we still must conduct our own business. Harn Flutters will report their progress to me as well following the Forn reports.
(( Seed Tenders & Harvesters have a chance to discuss what they're doing, describe the condition of the seeds, and mention if any are ready to harvest (can say there are some - be creative) Tree Watchers can mention anything regarding safety and security, including mention of any pae'il spotted in the clearing and what they may have been doing. Hint: two squires recently stole cut branches from Forn Sheedhiel) Druid can mention the state of overall health, relay any important experiences, or request materials or info Wood & Flora Mender can discuss the state of the flora around the area (is it dry? are certain plants dying? Is there a bug infestation?) and can report on the general state of the tree (everything is as it should be, or mention any abnormalities) We still need Gardeners, Cooks and Water Gatherers if any want to volunteer (For both trees)
We need some situations and conflicts for our Flutters to attend to, so be creative in your reports!
Harn Flutters: Indilwen is missing, so their reports can merely include this information and maybe anything suspicious they may have witnessed. Remember, they're worried about what happened, and aren't above suspecting the Forn Flutters so they might be there trying to gather information.
Following reports, Belwen will discuss the Indilwen situation. I will give each person a chance to post before I continue on the meeting. After a couple of weeks, I will continue regardless of who's posted yet.))

Titus stood, tight lipped by the fire. He couldn't say he was looking forward to this meeting. He had never been one to socialize to any excessive degree, and as far as he was concerned, inviting the Harn Sheedhiel flutters was excessive.
Not that he generally disliked them much more than anyone else, they were just less... familiar. That and he was fairly certain that at least one of them was responsible for the damage he'd been working to repair. The flutter tried not to let an irritated grumble escape him as he thought about it. If he found out who the perpetrator was he'd, well, have stern words for them. Hopefully they'd take measures to prevent it from happening again.
He managed a tense smile and nod at Queen Belwen before stepping forward. Just because he was agitated doesn't mean he didn't at least owe her some respect.
"Someone,"
He spat the word out irritably, trying hard not to glower at everyone assembled.
"Someone has felt the need to cut branches from our tree. I'm doing my best to repair the damage, but the... ineptitude of the vandals in their efforts has left the injured spots vulnerable to infestation. I've eliminated every incursion of harmful insects that I've encountered, but should anyone find any nearby please let me know so I can rid the area of them before they become a greater issue."
Titus closed his eyes briefly to maintain his composure. No, he couldn't embarrass them with an angry outburst.
"There has also been some unusual fungus cropping up around the base of the tree. I've culled the specimens closest to it until I can determine whether or not it poses a threat. Who knows, it might turn out to be delicious." He smiled a bit, "Aside from that, and some routine checkups, I haven't had much trouble with the other plants this growing season."
He stepped back to indicate that he was done talking, at least without being prompted by questions or comments.

If first impressions meant anything significant, hers after meeting one of the flutters of the southern tree left her rather weary to meet any more. To say that it had been an unpleasant encounter would be putting it in rather polite terms. She wasn't hostile towards them per say, just a bit hesitant to directly converse or work with them at all.
Thankfully, however, they hadn't done much to intrude on her duties as druid at this time. Even a pacifist such as herself would have a few select works to say if someflutter were to do as such.
As she glanced around at the number of flutters about her, Delyth couldn't help but take a few steps backward and out of sight. There were just so many of them and so many whom she had never met. Were they nice, or were they mean? At this moment, while she could hope for the first there was no definitive way of proving it. She would have to wait and let time reveal such things to her... but in the meantime, caution was better than naivete.
Her eyes were downcast and rather loosely focused on her fingers as they wrapped into one another while the meeting began. Titus was always so confident and reliable, and she felt that he was one of the best of them to trust with caring for Forn Sheedhiel. Plus he was rather attractive too... She blinked and looked up as his speech grew quiet, her eyes glancing away as he gave the nonverbal cue for the next to begin.
Probably her.
Biting her lip, the girl cautiously stepped out in front of those there, her eyes only looking around to their guests superficially before locking on to their queen. "A-all of our flutters... ap-pear... to be in good physical health..."
A hand reached up to play with a lock of her hair as she continued. "S-some birds... however... living i-in the trees branches... look ill..." her eyes looked away. "...a-as if they have eaten... so-something... bad." At this her eyes returned. "So everyflutter sh-should be wary of... p-perhaps a nearby poisonous berry plant... or s-something..."
Smiling sheepishly, she placed her hands together again and in front of her. "I a-am watching them... to see if... m-maybe... it is a-a sickness instead... and I-I will let you know i-if it s-spreads or stays unusually long."
Glancing around at the others, her pitched raised an octave and she rather quickly rushed through the rest of her report in a single breath. "The-other-animals-appear-to-be-fine, but-if-anyflutter-notices-anything-please-let-me-know." At this she bowed her head and hurried back beside her other treemates. Once in this safety, she closed her eyes, exhaled, and let herself calm once more.
To bring the seed, or not to bring the seed? That was the question. After so many seeds had gone missing, Paradise was hesitant to leave it alone for even a moment. Either she or Lillian was always with it, whoever wasn't watching the crop of unripened seeds. With both of them attending the meeting... was the seed safer in the nursery, away from the eyes of the south tree flutters who might want to steal their prized child away from them... Or was it safer in her own arms.
The decision, weighing the pros and cons, took a long time and because of it she was one of the last to arrive at the meeting. Paradise tried her best to slip in unnoticed, hugging the child/seed to her closely. She was still trying to figure out if she was supposed to sit on it, it was the first seed she was getting to raise after-all. Thankfully the flutter had decided that sitting on the seed was not in its best interest.
Paradise watched as her fellow treemates spoke. After the nervous sounding Delyth went, Paradise decided it would be her turn. Her yellow eyes searched out for a familiar face to focus on, resting on the face of her queen, Belwen. This female was nervous too, only she didn't show it by stuttering, instead she spoke in a small whisper.
"Me and Lillian have been on constant watch to make sure that the newest seedlings remain with the tree. While we have not seen any recent threats to their safety, we still want to take every precaution... Oh... and I think we will be ready for a harvest before winter!" She wasn't sure if she should share that in front of the other tree... what if they tried to harvest the seeds before them, but the whole purpose of the meeting was to share these things in front of each other so... Paradise took a deep breath and glanced over at Lillian, remembering the things they had discussed earlier in preparation for the meeting. "We have recently recovered a ripe seed... which Lillian will go into detail in her report." Paradise paused and rubbed the seed proudly. "So far it seems to be developing normally, and we are looking forward to welcoming Forn Sheedhiel's first baby cater-pae-lar very soon." The flutter gave a modest smile, looking up at the queen for her approval before sitting down next to Lillian with their seed.

Mazarine sighed and flitted cautiously into Forn Sheedhiel. He didn't like the idea of being in foreign soil... not to mention rival soil for this particular meeting. Especially with their Queen missing. But what choice did he and his brothers and sisters of Harn Sheedhiel have?
He dipped his head - out of moderate respect of her role - to the Forn Queen and followed the rest into the main atrium where everyone else seemed gathered to hear what Queen Belwen had to say. Though it was most likely a sign of peace, the Queen's "warm and welcoming" smile left Mazarine a little on edge. Was she hiding something? Was she the reason their Queen was MIA?
He forced himself to shove such ill thoughts aside for now and gathered himself beside his 'family', seeming to place himself between them and the other Flutters. He was no Protector - though at times, he wished he had been given that role instead - but he at least felt like the big, protective brother at the moment.
Others of his tree might notice this momentary odd behavior. Mazarine was generally the quiet one. He often kept to himself, studied others while sitting back in the background. He rarely jumped ahead of anyone else unless someone was injured. His seemingly cold, blue eyes were always warm and inviting to those of Harn Sheedhiel. In his mind, their tree was injured. Their queen was missing and their hearts and minds were shattered at the thoughts of what might become of them if she remained missing. Hence his current stance in the Northern Tree... He couldn't mend broken hearts. He could only give them the hope and understanding that someone would always be there for them to help them mend when needed.
His blue gaze snapped from scanning the Forn Flutters to lay upon Queen Belwen as she began to speak. He didn't particularly dislike what she had to say... but he didn't particularly like it either... He shifted on his hooves quietly and glanced over his tree-mates, checking to make sure that he wasn't the only one a little irritated by the first topic.
Each tree should be fending for themselves. Why would they have to help each other starting with Forn Sheedhiel and then Harn Sheedhiel? By the time they get around to it that way, Forn Sheedhiel would have all the good crops. Harn would be getting all the leftovers... He didn't like this... Not one bit...
Still, Mazarine decided to wait. See what everyone else had to say. Maybe he was looking into their plans all wrong. Maybe this other tree was in just as much of a bind as they were (missing Queen aside) and were merely trying to be neighborly and help out. Maybe--.........
Lillian had been quiet since arriving to the meeting. She had her tail in her hands, curling the hair around her finger. She was nervous. Not for the rival tree being here. No. Something else had been weighing heavily on her mind.
The room seemed to have gone quiet after Paradise had spoke. Lillian looked to the last two that hadn't spoke, Lisanthus and Shaylee. Didn't seem like they were offering to speak any time soon. With a heavy sigh Lillian stepped forward, she would speak now. She had been hoping to go last but...
"I would like to had said my report was the same as Paradise, but my report will be different. This may be the only time we differ but I feel it's important." Lillian stopped her words for a moment before taking a deep breath. "Some of you may or may not have heard the rumors about the strangers holding a 'carnival'. Despite the risks of seen I attended this event, though I was small and hidden from sight. I have several things to report on from my time there." She had really wished she had caught her Queen first to speak to her in private about all this.
"First off, while I was there I managed to catch sight of two of the lost six." Lillian paused once again. She wasn't too sure anyone had managed to track down any of the lost seeds since they were taken. "From what I could tell the strangers seem to have kept them in good health. They seemed large, almost ready to pupate. I can only assume the other missing four are the same if they've been taken care of." She could only hope they were being cared of. " I suppose the next step is to locate the last four and prepare for the possibilities that may happen when they emerge and more importantly if they find the trees. They've bonded to their care givers, what's to stop them from bringing the strangers here?" Lillian stopped speaking, looking down to the ground for a moment. This wasn't the time to worry about that. Hopefully their Queen had a plan for if that happened.
"There is more, the seed." Lillian continued. She figured this was what most were waiting for. She had only really had the time to explain to Paradise about the seed. "I recovered the seed from the carnival." Lillian's face angered as she spoke. "It was in a bag buried in the sand and used as a prize of all things!" She clenched her fists in anger before letting out a breath to relax. "I'm more worried about what this means," Lillian started to speak again. "I do not believe this seed to be one of the original six lost. This means another stranger came to our home and stole our babies. We've already doubled our efforts to watch the seeds after the first six were taken but at this point I feel as if we do not watch them all day and all night more will be taken under our nose. Then there is the question about how many were taken this time." Lillian's ear fell. "We can't keep loosing the seeds like this, but I'm not to sure how to stop them. We need more help..." Help was not something they really had. There weren't enough bodies in the Trees and the possible new bodies kept getting taken. "There is one more thing to talk about..."
Lillian rubbed her face for a moment as she got to her last point. The point she had been dreading. The flutter faced Belwen "My Queen, I am sorry. I should have come to you sooner, come to you first. The thought of loosing more seeds had me watching them more than I'd like to admit, I had to take the lesser of two evils." Lillian hung her head for a moment before facing the group, looking up to them all. "I was not the only flutter at this carnival. One from Harn Sheedhiel was also there." She paused for a moment. "Even though I was careful, even though I did everything not to be seen, it was all for nothing." Her eyes drifted around the room at the flutters from the other tree before they fell on one. Her. Tegeirian. "You..You were there." She faced towards the other female, clenching her fists. "You were there and you were there are you were WALKING around like nothing was wrong! Out in the OPEN! They saw you. EVERYONE there SAW YOU! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? THEY ARE STEALING OUR CHILDREN AND BURYING THEM IN THE SAND AND NOW THEY KNOW ABOUT US! HOW COULD YOU? THEY COULD HAVE FOLLOWED YOU BACK TO OUR HOME AND GONE AFTER EVERYBODY!" Lillian burst into tears as she fell to the ground, sobbing. She was at a lost of what was to happen next.

Mazarine's gaze shifted from one Flutter to another as they spoke. It wasn't until one of the Forn Flutters starting pointing at one of his own and making accusations. True or not, he was almost certain that the reason behind this meeting was not to point fingers.
His gaze narrowed and he stepped forward. "What one of Harn has done should be dealt with by their own." He shot a warning glance towards Tegeirian. "If this is true, she will answer to her brother's and sisters, not to another from another Tree." he partly sneered. Another out of character thing for him, but with their Queen missing in the mix, who else would lead? Who else would protect those he cared for daily? His wings gave a nervous flutter, proof that he wasn't entirely accustomed to such actions, but he was still standing his ground.
He took a visible deep breath and turned his heated gaze from Lillian to the Queen. He wanted to tell her that they would take care of Tegeirian once they returned home and to continue on with the topic they were previously discussing. Yes, Tegeirian's action was a grave one. He had been meaning to ask her just how she had acquired the tear in her wing. That wasn't exactly something easily repaired.... in fact, he was certain that was one injury he couldn't fix. If the Forn Flutter was telling the truth, then he was more than certain that the rest of Harn would be cornering Tegeirian whenever they were able to demand answers for such a... crime? Perhaps that was too strong a word, but they all knew better than to be seen... much less flitter about where others could see them and of course follow them.
Now his thoughts were torn... much like Tegeirian's wing...
Titus found himself glaring at the male Harn Flutter that had decided to respond to Lillian's outcry. He couldn't be sure if he was intending to be aggressive, but the way he was talking certainly seemed to indicate it. He was barely aware that he had thought it before he was striding over toward Lilian. If nothing else, they needed to show solidarity. The blue Flutter quickly and grimly offered a hand to help her up, tossing an appraising glance over his shoulder at the one who had spoken.
"Can you blame her for being upset, really? It may not be our place to enact, uh, consequences, on one of yours. But it is our place to be informed as to what can and can't pose a threat to our security."
He exhaled sharply, trying to contain the rather obvious shaking that had overtaken him. It was more than apparent that he despised confrontation, but he wasn't going to allow one of them to upset this girl any more than she already was. Not if he could help it, anyway.

She arrived near the end of the her brother's trails, Irian had left that damneded sword back in her nook at home. It was impossible to fly with it and even without it she couldnt fly long with the cut she'd managed to make when she first had received the sword. Irian had flown and hopped between flowers to make it to Forn. She did not like the idea of this Fireside taking place at the Forn tree, nor most of what Queen Belwen had said. Irian was herself gathering any intel she could hoping to gleen any info that would tell her the location of her own queen and confirm or deny her own suspicions against her adversaries in the northern tree. She leaned against a surface near the rest and closest to her own kin.
Irian's eyes narrowed slightly when she was being pointed to. Irian had in fact gone to the carnival but had not stayed long and certainly was not just walking around, Nothing there had truly interested the flutter, she had not seen the flutter children, she had only felt she'd been seen once and by one stranger, while making a single wish. Irian certainly hadn't dug around in sand aiming to win a prize. The wish she had hoped for hadn't even come true. As for the fact that this was even brought up by a Forn tree flutter Irian did not feel was any of their business. She'd be questioned by her bretheren she knew it, especially now that it had been brought up in front of these flutters at this Fireside. The Harn sentry felt it only her own kin and queen she would answer to.
She stood up straight from where she was leaned, her wings fluttering a bit in irritation looking at the pink flutter. "I will answer those questions only to my own kin, you question my motives but you know nothing of me. To say you recovered a seed from a game, that means you took part in the game or were in contact with one of the strangers who was. How do you know you were not followed." She looked towards the Forn queen "Queen Belwen, I have my own reasons for being at that carnival as the strangers called it. And I will in fact answer to my own bretheren from my own tree at a later time. I am Tegeirian, a sentry of the Harn Sheedhiel tree, my Lady Queen Indilwen is not here. I will not delve into my suspicions about this matter, I do not feel they should be brought up ... here." she avoided saying 'in front of Forn flutters' she had suspicion that these Flutter had something to do with her Queen's disappearance. "I will share just one bit of information, recently while keeping an eye out from my post at Harn Sheedhiel I observed one of the strangers, a dark blue one and a strange creature with it near the middle of the clearing between our trees. It did not stay long enough to get much clearer details in fact it ran north away from Harn Sheedhiel, towards your tree. I am not sure why they were in the clearing, I did not follow them, I stayed in watch of Harn Sheedhiel in case this was a diversion, however I saw no other strangers within my vision on this day." she stepped back a step intending to lean once more against the surface she'd been leaning on.
(( With the ok of Dia, Irian is a sentry of the Harn Sheedhiel tree, she also helps out cooking when an extra hand is needed. If no harn flutter takes the position of a tree cook, she probably helps out more then she'd like to.
p.s. twitch.. might have asked me about Irian before saying she was walking around like nothing was the wrong. Irian was only posted once there and she was slipping around, I also never stated she was in full size either. ))
When her Queen posted a meeting, of course Shaylee came. Even though she stood awkwardly to the side, nervously passing glances over to their rival flutters. Why were they joining forces? Though their Queen was missing, it was obvious that the other flutters didn't care for their generous hospitality. To be honest she didn't like them here either. They seemed distrustful and cold, unlike their warm family.
As her Tree mates gave their reports it was glaringly obvious how she was just sort of there. A face among the crowd as no job was her calling. Soon all her thoughts however were shattered as Lillian began speaking. Her collected report quickly started unraveling, ending in a panicked shriek at the Harn Flutter. She KNEW they were up to no good! They could have risked being found out! And how dare that male Harn glare at Lillian - and their Queen! Their beloved Belwen who had graciously let them into their home! "You all should keep in mind where you are!" Shaylee yelled before immediately clamping a hand over her mouth. Did she really just do that? Oh no oh no. She was calling attention to herself. She just was sick of how that male flutter looked like he was going to pounce on anyone that moved, and the way the torn winged flutter said...'should be brought up...here'. Like THEY couldn't be the ones trusted! "If you want to share food and protection then act like it! Otherwise you guys should all go back!" The Forn Flutters had their Queen. They weren't the weakened ones. Those arrogant Harn Flutters needed to know their place.

Mazarine hadn't raised his voice above an average volume. In fact, despite his cold gaze and regid stature, he actually appeared relatively at ease... aside from the occasional nervous flutter of his wings. He turned towards Titus. A similar character, by the looks of things.
"No. I cannot blame her for being upset. But you can also not blame us for being the same." He turned his gaze back towards Lillian. "The fact that you're bringing this up, suggests you were there. As you so clearly stated. So how can you be sure you didn't get noticed while you were spying on one of our own? You are no spider. Your eyes do not encompass the entirety of your head, therefore you can't be sure that you weren't seen or followed. Much like our own." He had hopes that his neutral outlook on the situation would settle some nerves.
He shifted on his hooves and took a deep inhale. "However... I feel as though there are similarly pressing matters to be discussed for the time being instead of tying our antennae in knots over who saw who where."
Before the argument could escalate further, Belwen stepped forward and stomped her hoof for attention. "ENOUGH! You will ALL do well to humble yourselves this day. This is an important fireside for not just our tree, but for Harn as well. Harn, for now, you will all answer to me. Tegeirian, yes you will answer for these allegations to me. Lillian, you as well. Harn business is our business. We are one. For now." She did not yet want to spill the beans about Indilwen's circumstances. Other, smaller matters needed attention first, otherwise they'd be overlooked and neglected. "Mazarine, I would appreciate a private meeting to follow this one, as I have some important matters to discuss with you."
"I will hear the rest of the reports once we resolve these ones. Shaylee, I will need you to keep notes please." She asked the young girl to do this task because the youngster still had not taken on a responsibility in the colony yet. So any menial task she could do was important.
"We still need to hear the security report for Forn, and the rest of Harn's reports later.
Thank you for your report Titus. Please keep me informed when you do learn more about the fungus. If you need assistance, Shaylee should be available. As for the cut limbs, this isn't the first I'm hearing of it, I fear it will only get worse. Everyone needs to stay vigilante. Stay hidden, but do what you can to get rid of the strangers. The report from Tegeirian confirms my own experience. I chased off a couple of these strangers after witnessing them harming our Tree. Did they do any harm to Harn?" She asked of all of the Harn flutters, because she didn't exactly know each's role yet.
"The sick birds are also of great concern. The Trees have both been moaning about something foul in the air. It is not clear, but I want all of us to take extra precautions. We cannot let anything contaminate our precious lands. In the mean time, we should invite the birds to eat from seeds and fruits from our own stores to prevent further poisoning, should that be the culprit. Thank you for your report, Delyth. And please, make sure you enlist any help you may need to find the source of the sickness. Shaylee, dear, ensure that Delyth receives an adequate supply of food for the local birds. "
She looked towards Paradise and Lillian. She noticed a bundle in Paradise's arms and knew that was the seed Lillian spoke of. Forn was not the only Tree to be robbed of their next generation. Several seeds were missing from Harn as well.
"I will come back to the allegations made towards Tegeirian and Lillian, but first I want to settle this matter with the seed my Tenders found. Only two of the lost sprouts so far have been located. There are four still unaccounted for, yet we learn of a stray seed among the strangers? Who is not fulfilling their duties?
May I have the seed, please? "
((Just to say, I am loving this RP. I love the tension between the colonies. This is some great stuff! Don't let Belwen's chastising change any characters or their reactions, it's all part of the scene! biggrin ))

Paradise had remained silently observant during the, what she would call intense, fight. While she had issue with it as well, it just wasn't in her soft-spoken nature to create or add to the conflict. If Lillian hadn't been at the carnival they would never have gotten this seed so she did hope that her partner didn't get in too much trouble. She would never defy the Queen by saying such a thing though.
As the Queen continued speaking, Paradise could not help but wince. While it was not solely her fault that the seeds had gone missing, the female still carried around a great deal of guilt and burden about it. This new seed being discovered, and the fact that they had not even noticed its disappearance with all they had done to increase their security meant even more failure on her part. The heartbreak that she had experienced after the first six seeds went missing was both helped and hindered by the new seed's recovery.
Paradise stood up and sheepishly presented the seed to the Queen. "I apologize Queen Belwen. I will do everything in my ability to make sure this does not happen again."
Paradise could only hope that this seed was actually from the other tree, and it was a fault in their system that had allowed it to go missing. If it was, they weren't getting it back because it was her Forn's seed now. As Paradise sat back down she was already beginning to brainstorm new ideas to keep 'inventory' of the seeds they had.
Irian's wings fluttered in annoyance as the other flutters of the Forn tree jumped to lillian's defence and that only one of her own bretheren even spoke up. And then that Queen...
