Since Pokemon is Nintendo, I figure I can throw this up here. This way people can play together and swap stories. As for me, I have Black with no wifi on my DS, so no good for me until I get enough cash to buy a 2DS. But at least I hope someone will benefit from this. Dani

Gen 5 is my favourite, as controversial an opinion that may be.
BW to me, are the only games which have felt like a continuation as well as a partial reboot of the series.
The tone was much more grown up, the trainers were older to reflect that. They dealt with themes like Truths, Ideals and Parental Abuse.
And you had no access to anything from previous generations until after you beat the game. It was a fresh map with a fresh take on things and there was next to no reliance on familiarity with previous monsters.
BW2 decided to throw all that out the window however. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy BW2 as much as I did BW.
That said, Gen 6 is really growing on me more and more.
For XY, the enemies and their motives are quite awesome and pretty darn dark.
And with ORAS introducing the idea of multiple universes in the best retcon ever, I'm really impressed with it.

I say Gen 2. Loved going back to Kanto after Johto. Although it felt shorter than Gen 1 Kanto.

Mine is a tie between black and diamond. The tie breaker was poffins. If I could make poffins in black, then it would be the best hands down.
Only objection I have with black is porting my pokemon. I only own one DS and I don't think it's fair to have to have two. I hope x/y fix that.

They fixed this before the release of XY with the Pokémon Bank and Transporter.
The Transporter allows you to port 30 Pokémon at a time from the game into the Bank, while the Bank itself allows almost immediate transport of all Pokémon in the Bank into XY and ORAS and vice versa.
When using the Transporter, all 30 Pokémon must be in Box 1.
Both apps are free from the 3DS/2DS eShop to download, but the Bank costs $5 a year to keep your Pokémon on Nintendo's servers.

So once I get my 2DS and X or Y, I can port my stuff? Does this include Diamond or just Black/White to X/Y?

I have really been enjoying the new Pokemon games. I like the mega evolutions that came out with XY. I have to say that I really liked the feature to customize my trainer a little more with XY too. With that being said, I have not been a big fan of the newer Pokemon they introduced.
BW had some great stuff with it. I am still not entirely sold on BW2 since I felt the story was complete the first time.
I can honestly say that Evee is my favorite Pokemon my far.
