I keep seeing fantards raving on how gay toon porn goes and ties into the political scene.

Agreed.
I can't stand Yaoi, or it's fanbase, and bringing it to a political level is just laughable.
Why would they regulate one type of porn over another?
I mean ... the nasty ***** stuff obviously needs to be restricted, but Yaoi is just a bunch of cartoons.

The funny thing is that yaoi isn't even gay.
Yaoi is heavily fictionalized. If anything, it's straight. One character (the "uke") is always assuming the female role. I can't really go into details about the sex, but the majority of yaoi out there depicts the a**s like a v****a.
Really, these fangirls realize that they are watching porn, and associate porn with heterosexual males in theirs late 30s who are virgins and live in mom's basement. Therefore, they want to find a way around it to make themselves not look so bad, so they claim it's all about gay rights. We can all laugh because we know what it really is about.
It's just as laughable as imagining your typical (note: typical. This means not all in said group are like this.) consumer of live-action lesbian porn (a heterosexual male) trying to make his interest some sort of political issue involving lesbian marriage.
