Addie opened her eyes groggily as her alarm blared on the table next to her king size bed. With a groan, she rolls over, her dainty fingers fumbling to grip her cell phone and turn off the loud melody that had disturbed her slumber. Blinking lazily as she unlocks her phone, she notices the day and her chest tightens. Today was the day she started at her new school.
, she mumbles to herself as she moves to sit up, her long legs falling over the side of the bed as her cold toes find their way into her warm, neon green fuzzy slippers. Gently she rubs her eyes, her makeup from last night smudging across her fingers before she stands with a stretch, her mind racing over what outfit she would wear today.
Opening up a playlist on her phone, she presses play on the first song, hoping the loud guitar and screaming vocals would wake her up enough to get her day started. Moving to her closet, she catches a glimpse of herself in her mirror hanging on the wall, her black hair tangled and sticking up in more than one direction. She'd deal with that later she thought to herself as she pulled open the closet door and a barrage of black fabric assaulted her eyes.
Her style hadn't always been this dark, but in light of recent events, she had chosen to ditch the hot pinks and preppy blues, instead preferring a more gothic style. Grabbing a shirt off of it's hanger, her eyes gleamed with approval at the white word splayed across it.
"Loser. Seems about right" she said with a chuckle, yanking a black skirt, and some thigh highs out as well.
Reaching for her phone, she bumped up the volume of her music, sauntering off to the bathroom to change out of her pajamas and do something about the rats nest on her head. Squinting as her eyes adjusted to the fluorescent lighting in the white tiled bathroom, she slips her shirt off, avoiding looking in the mirror and kicking the silky fabric to the side, yanking her crop top over her head. The smell of bacon and eggs wafted into the room, and she smiles a little, knowing her father had woken up early to surprise her with a good breakfast and drive her to school.
Finishing her morning routine, she straightened her back and looked at her reflection, her blue eyes scrutinizing the way her silky black hair fell over her shoulders, and the way her lips puckered when she was anxious. She had a lot of qualms with her appearance, but with a shrug she pranced back to her room, collecting her phone and bag before trudging downstairs to the kitchen. The breakfast aroma drew her to the counter-top, where a plate full of bacon, eggs, and toast awaited her, a piece of paper along side it. She should have known not to expect her father to actually drive her to school like he promised, he was always getting called into work at ridiculous times, which didn't leave much time for rides anywhere. She would have to walk, which wasn't a big deal really, it was only 4 blocks away and she could use the exercise anyways, she noted as her gaze traveled down to her stomach, noticing it was getting a little pudgy.
Shoving a piece of bacon into her mouth and grabbing a piece of toast, she hunted down her black platform boots, hopping around with toast in her mouth as she tugged them on, kneeling down to buckle them around her calves. With the last bite of toast, she slips her coat on, smirking at how perfect it was that the letter "L" lined up exactly where it would on the shirt, her chest still spelling out "Loser".
With a sigh she pulls her headphones out of her pocket, connecting them to her phone, the loud metal continuing in the earpiece as she pulls her bag over her shoulder, and steps out of her house into the crisp, late fall air. A chill travels up her spine as the cold breeze tickles the tops of her thighs, her skirt ruffling in the wind. Maybe I should have worn pants she thought, her feet already pulling her down the drive way to the sidewalk, noting that tomorrow would for sure be the day she wore jeans, especially if this weather kept up.
Her bag was already heavy, filled to capacity with books, notebooks, and binders, all necessary according to the Principal, whom she had met a week before to get her schedule and supplies list. He had seemed nice enough, wrinkles around his eyes that she assumed had come from smiling, which he never stopped doing from the moment they shook hands. It was kind of eery, but she had shrugged it off at the time.
Before she knew it, she looked up and the school loomed in front of her, 3 stories of classrooms taunting her on her first day. Standing back a little she watched as students milled into the doors, laughing and greeting their friends in their selective groups, groups she would have been a part of had her life not changed so drastically.
Tucking her hair behind her ear, she steeled her self and began the short walk up the sidewalk to the front doors, the only thing on her mind being that she needed to just get today over with, hoping that everything would go smoothly and maybe no one would notice the new girl, the girl with the dead brother and mother, the girl who had no idea until it was too late, that she was more powerful than she would have ever believed. The girl, who was a witch.

Beep.
Beep!
BEEP!

Slamming the counter a couple times, just reaching and searching around tell he hit the right thing was what stopped the annoying and atrociously loud noise that radiated from the small silver clock on his night stand. With a harsh grunt he turned, his sheets slowly sliding off him as they bundled up at the side of the bed, some drooping off the mattress. You could say he was a messy sleeper.

His golden green eyes fluttered open, quickly squinting as sunlight passed through the space between his blinds, spilling into the room. Lifting a hand he formed a cover over his eyes, his hand pressed to his forehead. Ugh mornings.. Nastu was never a fan of them. But it was time to get up, he needed to get to school. School another thing he wasn't so crazy about.

Turning over he laid on his back, resting a hand to his chest a deep sigh rolled past his dry lips. Sitting up slowly he tossed his legs over the edge of his bed, landing his feet gently against the cool floor. It was quick to warm up under his abnormally warm skin. Thats when he got himself up and into the bathroom, sadly he had to get ready for the prison they called school.

Nastu wasn't very popular at school, he was only there to get his powers in line, to help him control being a dragon. But and high school has its drama and Natsu was caught up in that drama everyday. Dragons where very rare, there wasn't many around anymore so he was the only one at his school, actually in this country really. Everyone at school seemed to think he would be this powerful being like legends say, but after noticing how troubled he really was with his abilities he was bullied for it. Bad enough not being able to control yourself, but being the outsider was just another weight on his shoulder.

~

His eye's lingered up, his hand now blocking the light from his eyes as he looked up at the building, this wind blowing his long scaf back. It was a cool day, well maybe not for him but surely for anyone else. The sun was out, but it wasn't a really bright day. Flinching at the feeling of a pressure on his side Nastu shifted his feet, nearly tripping as the pressure turned into a harsh shove. Turning towards the presence he was met with the face of a tall boy his age.

His name was Kirigaya. He was big and blonde, he had bright blue eyes and piercings everywhere. "Get out of the way hot head." He rudely shouted, a roaring laughter passing his lips as his friends all joined in. It always seemed to be one big joke with those guys.. The popular group. Kirigaya was a werewolf, he was very popular with the girls in their grade, but still flirted with the younger girls too.

It was always hard here, Natsu was always being walked on like a piece of paper on a sidewalk. It sucked, but he had dealt with it since he started here, but this year was his last, he was finally eighteen and would soon be graduating. Walking into the building he made his way down the hall, keeping his head forward, looking dead ahead, emotionless, like a zombie. He did it everyday, he would just ride his school days out like a lifeless doll, just doing what he had to do tell the end of the day, he didn't speak with anyone and he had no friends.

Continuing his way down the hall he paid no mind to the ones who stared or whispered awful things about him, he just walked down the hall, all the way to his locker. His gray, thin, rusty looking locker that squeaked unpleasantly every time he opened it. Pulling it open he slid off his bag and tossed it in, unzipping it he looked around, grabbing what he needed.

Addie's thin legs shook as she approached the entrance to the school, her interest momentarily piqued by loud, boisterous laughter coming from some large, blonde boy. Pausing, her hand on the cold handle of the door, she shifts her gaze from the laughing boy, to a sullen faced boy at the center of it all. The look in his eyes said he wanted to set the school and everyone in it on fire.
That poor guy she thought. She had never liked bullies, and she could see that clearly that was what was happening here. Of course she wanted to step in and help, maybe make those boys grow horns, or turn their faces green, but she knew better than to play around with her magic. She had learned the hard way that she had no idea what she was doing, and she couldn't risk any more accidents. Besides, she didn't need to be noticed, not yet, and this surely would draw too much attention for her taste.

After wandering the halls for a good ten minutes, she finally found the locker assigned to her. Cursing herself for not leaving early enough, she quickly fumbled with her lock, taking three attempts before finally getting it open. With a huff, she tosses her bag in, it landing with a loud bang. Jumping a little at the sudden, harsh noise, she quickly glances around her, hoping no one had seen her ridiculous response. She was just on edge she told herself as she opened the front flap of her bag, pulling out the necessary supplies for her first class of the day, European Literature.
She had always loved any class that covered literature, and was especially excited to be in a class that would discuss some of her favorite authors. Closing her locker with a slam, she slides out her schedule from between the frayed pages of an old journal, a journal she kept on herself at all times. "Room 221" she whispers to herself, looking at the closest classroom door to see the number 181. ******** she thought as the moved quickly down the hall, realizing she was on the wrong floor, and probably the wrong end of the school.
The school bell chimed as she hurriedly navigated the maze-like halls, her cheeks flushed and breath rushed. She really did need to start working out, she noted, remembering the days when she could run 5 miles while barely breaking a sweat. Finally, she reached the door to her first class, twenty minutes after the bell rang. If she really didn't want any attention, this was a bad way to go about it. Taking a moment to compose herself, she let out a slow breath, shaking her fingers through her bangs to straighten them out across her forehead.
"It's now or never, you can do this Addie, quit acting like a baby and just open the damn door" she mumbled, chuckling at her weak attempt at a pep talk. With a final sigh, she reaches out, gripping the handle of the door before slowly swinging it open. Her breath catches in her throat as every head in the room turns to face her, curious eyes observing her as she froze in place. "S....sorry I'm late I got lost finding my locker and it was on the opposite end of the sch-' she started before being abruptly cut off by the teacher.
"I will have to mark you as tardy Miss Hallewell. Please take a seat". Nodding and stepping into the classroom, pulling the door closed behind her, she scanned the sea of students. She was about to give up and just sit on the floor when she saw one empty desk among them all, in the back right corner, the desk next to it occupied by some boy she assumed was sleeping as his head was buried in his arms on the desk. It would have to do. Her mind raced as she approached the desk, setting her books down and slipping into the seat. If every class started off like this, she was going to have a rough day.

It took a minute to get his lock to finally shut, which wasn't at all a surprise to him, the stupid thing was always messing up. Tucking his binder under his arm the pink haired male continued down he hallway, stepping into the staircase he made his way up. It kind of sucked to have his first class upstairs, he was always almost late. "Maybe I should be coming to school earlier.." The thought just made his lips curve up into a small half smirk, his eyebrows arching just slightly. "No, thats not going to happen." He muttered quietly to himself. Glancing up at the clock hanging above the staircase doors he rose an eyebrow, s**t the bell would ring any minute. Picking up speed he pushed past the doors and headed down the hallway all the way to his correct first period.

Room number 221, European Literature. Ducking past a couple students that where standing at the door, he made his way to the back of the class. Taking his seat where he usually did, in the back away from everyone else. One empty desk next to him that was never used. Setting his binder down he folded his arms around it, resting his chin on the cool plastic. His dim eyes glanced around the room, watching everyone talk to each other and fool around. This is how class always began, students sitting on the desks and chatting up a storm. Until the bell rang. Thats when everyone sat themselves down and turned their attention to the front of the room where their teacher stood.

Letting out a soft sigh as he listened to the beginning of his teachers lecture, boring, it was always boring. Natsu hated being here it was never fun. No class was, other than art. Turning his head he laid it over the binder, pulling his arms in closer to hide his face. Keeping his eyes open he starred at the darkness his arms created, his ears muffling the sound of his classmates and teacher as he sat quietly. There had been a new voice, something that didn't at all sound familiar to him. Seemed like someone was late, probably new to the class as well. Miss Hallewell as their teacher put it.

His pointed ears perked up hearing the footsteps growing closer and closer his way. Was she going to take the desk next to him, the desk that was never used by anyone?.. She did.. She took the seat. She must have been new, no one in this school would come to sit next to the worthless dragon boy. Lowering his arm just slightly away from his face he peeked out over it glancing over at the girl. She had long black and blue hair, she was very pale and had a timid vibe to her. "Natsu, head up. You are not to sleep in my class." A comment from the front of the room.

Just to avoid confrontation Natsu did just that, he lifted his head and looked straight ahead at his teacher. Sitting back in his chair he rested one hand on the desk, twirling a pen around his fingers. Seemed like they had a new student, wonder what she was. "Probably a vampire, she looks the type." He thought to himself, glancing at her for a short moment through the corner of his eyes. Turning his attention back to the front of the room as the man spoke to his students.

Addie noticed slight movement from the boy next to her as she sat down, feeling his eyes gazing at her. Upon the teachers comment to him, she watched him re-situate himself out of the corner of her eye, trying not to make it obvious that she was studying him. It seems he had had the same idea though as their gazes met for a short second and she quickly averted hers, her cheeks blazing red. She fanned herself a little, realizing how warm it was back in this corner of the room, she shifted her jacket off, draping it over the back of her seat. Why was he staring at her anyways, it's not like she was weird, or funny looking. Well, at least she didn't think so.

Listening to the teacher talk about Jane Austen, she hastily begins to scribble notes in a red notebook she had brought with her. Her embarrassment was still notable in the crimson that flushed her face, and she did her best to focus on what the teacher was saying. Jane Austen was her favorite author, and while she already knew pretty much everything about her, Addie felt inclined to show participation in class, especially on the first day.

"Now, does anyone know what year Jane Austen wrote her last novel?" the teacher addressed the class, his eyes searching over the sea of heads to see if any one had done any of the required reading from the night before. Shifting slightly in her seat, Addie raises one hand slowly into the air, and says 'Actually sir, that's a trick question, because she was still working on her novel 'Persuasion' at her time of death in 1817."

"That is correct, looks like someone did their homework without even knowing they had it,"
the teacher said, eyeballing the class with disapproval before continuing his lecture. Oh great now everyone is going to think I'm a know-it-all she thought angrily to herself, her black ink pen gliding over the smooth pages of her notebook. She could hear the students whispering, some of them being so bold as to glance back at her before leaning to one of their friends and sharing secrets. She should have just kept her mouth shut and continued to avoid attention but she couldn't even do something simple like that, and it had frustrated her.

She could feel heat burning in her face and chest, her eyes blinking in surprise as she watched the color of her ink pen fade from black, to a deep red. She stopped writing, turning her head to look around her, before looking back at the page. She had never done anything as minimal as this with her powers, and honestly, it felt good. No one had gotten hurt, and really all this did was show her that maybe her powers had a direct link to her emotions. She could use that to have better control.

Just as she moved to begin writing again, the bell went off, telling everyone to get their asses to their next classes. Closing her notebook and gathering her journal, and pen, she swiftly gets up, darting to the door hoping to beat the crowds out in the halls. Stopping at the frame, she looks back over her shoulder at the quiet boy who she had sat next to, realizing that was the boy who was being bullied from earlier. She would make an effort to talk to him tomorrow if they sat next to each other again, she told herself, nodding as she got pushed out into the busy hallway, students of all types milling past her. Moving with them, she began making her way to her locker, but found herself getting distracted by all the different students, some with rabbit ears, some were almost entirely see through, like phantoms. She craned her neck to watch as a boy with black hair laughed and turned a red haired girls nose blue with a single wink.

While uncomfortable, she felt safe here, because no one could judge her for the powers she had. The only downside is everyone could judge her for how she found out about them. As she reached her locker, her mind a dark cloud as she thought about it, she realized she had left her jacket in the classroom. It wouldn't have been a big deal if it hadn't already been cold outside. She would have to go back and get it at some point, but unfortunately, her class was down here by her locker and she didn't have time yet. She would have to do it at lunch.
Grabbing out her books and swapping notebooks, she got ready to enter her next class, 'Witchcraft 101'. It was very strange having normal classes and...well magical classes all mixed in together, but she appreciated the hint of normalcy behind the curriculum.

Parting his lips to speak Natsu quickly shut them, raising an eyebrow he glanced over at the female once more. She had answered the question and seemed to know exactly what she was talking about too. Hm, what a nice change. Most of the kids here where nearly brain dead when it came to regular curriculum classes. But she soon got back to her timid self, just glancing around to make sure no one was starring at her or whispering about how weird that was.

The new kid.. Natsu knew what that role was like. Everyone laughed at you and treated you differently because of the fact that you hadn't been there as long as the others. Glancing down at her hand he noticed the change in the pen. Her pen hadn't been red before. Did she do that?.. She must have.

"A witch."

He whispered almost silently to himself. Not only did her pen change colour, but her face had burnt a bright red as well. She must have been embarrassed with all the whispers going on around the classroom. More than liking the students where talking about her. Quickly his attention was taken away from the long haired female before setting back on his teacher. Natsu felt a little sorry for her. He knew what it was like, it almost made I'm want to speak up. But he wouldn't. He didn't know this girl, for all he knew she could have been just like everyone else. No, he kept quiet. Why bring attention to the both of them.

~

Natsu had his head down. He had been taking down notes and completely things he was nearly finished with. Class was very quiet today. Maybe cause of the new female, or maybe not.. Who knew. But he liked it, usually he couldn't hear himself think with all the noise and commotion. His hand paused as the bell chimed loudly through the classroom and down the hallways. Class was over. Good, this meant he was one period closer to getting out of here. Flipping the binder on his desk shut he clicked his pen. Resting a hand over the binder Natsu slowly rose his eye's up towards the door. To his surprise she was staring at him. That strange, timid girl. Their eye's locked for a few seconds, his dim eyes just stared into her cool blue ones. Then she turned around and made her way out, disappearing from his field of vision.

Why would she look his way? What interested her about him? it was so weird, no one ever paid any mind to him. But for some reason she decided to sit by his side and even share a gaze with him. "She's new here, she doesn't know how the rest of them react to me. That's why. By the time she hears the rumours she won't bother looking at me. But why should I care, its something I'm very familiar with." He thought to himself, standing from his seat. Natsu walked out of the classroom and down the hall, obviously after everyone else had left. He didn't like to be caught up in the hallways with the rest of the zombies.

His next period was control of the fire element. Since dragons where a very rare species to come across there weren't any classes specifically for him. So Natsu had to compromise in any way he could. These ways being, fire training, flight classes and of course, counselling for his anger. You could say he was quite the hot head. Swiftly moving past students he walked fast through the halls, just trying to get to class. No one wanted to be in the hallways when the bell rang, that was suicide. He had seemed to steer clear of that situation, making it to class okay.

~

Lunch.

Not one of Natsu's favourite times of any school day. The cafe was loud, there was always students fooling around. Sometimes throwing things or playing their music to loud. The food was garbage, there was only one teacher on lunch duty. Students where to stay in the cafe at all times, roaming the halls was a big no. So every lunch he was stuck with it. With all the loud and obnoxious people he would rather punch in the face then have to look at. Natsu took a seat at the far end of the cafe, he was near the rear doors in a table that was never used by anyone but himself. It was mostly quiet where he sat, no one ever went near him anyway. Unless is was to tease him or make a cruel joke about the colour of his hair.

Resting his elbow on the cool table top he leaned his chin against his open hand. His deep eye's scanning the room. The people who usually picked on him where sitting pretty far today, that was good. "I don't have the patients for them today anyway." He muttered to himself. Closing his eyes he let out a soft sigh. This day seemed to be dragging on..

It felt like Addie had only blinked, and suddenly it was time for lunch. Her coat completely slipping her mind, she stops at her locker, swapping out her books for a brown paper bag she had packed with her lunch the night before. She had never been a fan of cafeteria food and much preferred a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Her mom had made them every day for her to bring to school, up until the accident. She wasn't one to stop a tradition.

Following the sea of students streaming down the hallway, she finally made her way into the large open room full of tables. She could feel her chest tighten and her stomach twist into knots as she surveyed the kids, greeting each other and sitting in their groups of friends. She had forgotten how hard it was to walk into a crowded room, not knowing a single face. But just as she was about to go find a bathroom stall to occupy and enjoy her lunch alone, she noticed him. The boy from her Lit class. He was sitting alone by the door, his eyes closed and his hand propping his head up in an almost cute way.

"Well...it's worth a shot." She says under her breath as she takes the few steps from where she is to where he was seated. Dropping the paper bag onto the table with a loud crinkle and thud, she seated herself directly across from him, busying herself with opening her lunch and pulling out her sandwich, chips, and juice. She hadn't packed a lot but that was okay with her, because her anxiety had upset her stomach so much she wasn't even sure she'd finish what she had.

Unwrapping her sandwich, she takes a big bite, the peanut butter sticking to the roof of her mouth while the jelly, with a mind of its own, painted the corners of her mouth a deep purple. Finally she raises her gaze to look at him, chewing slowly, savoring the taste as she studied his face. From what she had seen of him in class, she knew he had green eyes, but really that was all. He never smiled, or spoke, so she didn't have a whole lot to go on, but he was cute. She especially liked his hair, and decided to say just that as she swallowed her first bite.

"Hey how'd you get your hair that color? I love it, it's fantastic. I'm Addie by the way, I sat next to you in Lit." Her cheeks burned through the entire exchange, as she had only meant to compliment him, but apparently she had a bad case of word vomit. Letting her gaze drop back down to her lunch, she continued to eat her sandwich, hoping she hadn't annoyed him.

He flinched at the loud thud that had sounded from the other end of the cafe desk. Natsu quickly leaned away, his eyes flicking open. His eyebrow raising slightly as his gaze was met with the familiar stranger. It was her. The girl from his literature class. She had set he lunch down before plopping down in front of him. What was she doing? Why would she choose here to sit?

Turning his head he glanced around the room. Most of the students in the room where starring at them. They all looked and slightly pointed, whispers shared into each others ears. Typical. They where all wondering what the new girl was doing sitting with the loner dragon kid. She must have been new. Other wise she wouldn't be sitting here with him.

Glancing back at the long haired female Natsu turned his head slowly towards her. His eye's lingering down to her lips. Noticing a dark purple stain on the corner of her lips as she chewed. Parting his lips to speak he quickly shut them as she began to speak. His golden green eye's flicking back up to her eyes. Weird she had chosen to sit with him in class and now, but she clearly noticed he was sitting alone.

Tilting his head as she complemented his hair the male lifted a hand, pulling some of his hair forward to get a look at the colour. Lowering his hand he looked back at her. Natsu was silent for a moment, he arched his eyebrows slightly looking her over. "It's always been this colour.."

Shifting in his seat he looked down at the table for a moment. Licking the base of his lips he shook his head just slightly. This was just so weird to him. He hadn't talked to a classmate for a long time. "You sat next to me in class.." He lifted his head looking at her. His face covered in a slight confusion. "And you're sitting here with me.. Also, you uh.. You have grape on your lips." Tilting his head to the right he looked down at her lips.

His attention was taken away from the female as a small group of students began laughing. Looking their way he wasn't surprised to see them laughing in their direction. Making kissy faces and winking in Natsu's direction. But his face remained emotionless and he watched their childish antics. Turning back to the female in front of him Natsu waited. She was bound to leave once she noticed all the negative attention she was getting from being seen with him.

Furrowing her eyebrows, Addie tilts her head, listening to him point out the very obvious fact that she was now sitting with him. Hearing his remark about the jelly, she quickly licks it from the corner of her mouth, the sticky sweet grape flavor coating the tip of her tongue to mix with the taste of peanut butter still lingering in her mouth. "Well I mean there was only one open desk in the classroom so you kinda got stuck with me I'm sorry. And as of now, you're the only face I recognize so you're stuck with me again. Also, maybe you could give me your name, so I have something to call you." she says with a laugh, blushing a little as she hears the kids behind her laughing. She understood the stigma of being new but these kids seemed to be making it into a bigger deal than she had expected.

Turning to look over her shoulder, her thoughts were validated by the various gestures and glances shot her way. Dejected, her shoulders drop as she wraps the second half of her sandwich in the plastic it had been wrapped in. Suddenly her appetite was completely gone. Shaking her head, she raises her gaze to look at the boy in front of her, noting how empty his eyes looked.

"I'm sorry, I'm bringing so much negative attention...I didn't realize the kids here would be so...mean about new comers. If you want I can leave, I don't want you to suffer the backlash for it." she said, adverting her gaze back down to her half eaten sandwich, as she balls her paper bag up in her fist. She felt awful for this, he was already bullied and here she was, making it worse. She could feel tears begin to well up in her blue eyes as her grip tightened on the bag, when suddenly the paper ignited in a blaze of blue. Jumping up she quickly grabs her juice box and squeezes the contents onto the aquamarine fire, her eyes wide with shock as she looks at the boy, her tears streaming openly down her face.

"I'm so sorry..." she whispers, before grabbing the smoking bag and running out of the cafeteria, dropping it into the trash on the way to her locker. Maybe she wasn't ready for school, maybe this was all a big mistake and she should just hole herself up in her room for the rest of her life where things like this couldn't happen again. With a loud cry, she swiftly kicks the locker below hers, the force of her foot on the metal sending shooting pains up her foot and ankle. She just needed to get out of this school. Now.

He got stuck with her? She really didn't know. It was so weird, talking to someone at school who had no idea of his reputation. Or the reputation people gave him. She had asked for his name, but also noticed the students near them as they began laughing and making odd faces. Ugh, what a bother. It was almost enough to make him get up and leave. But clearly she had the same idea. Looking back at her he listened as the female apologized for being around him. She seemed to think it was her that they were laughing at and it was making him look bad. Poor girl had it all backwards. Flinching as her lunch bag set off into a bright blue flame he leaned back a bit. Hm, strange for a witch to not know what she is doing.

But the fire was quickly put out by the frantic teen as she got up to leave, apologizing once again. Turning his head he watcher her hurry out of the cafe, her head down. "Awe, did you and your girlfriend break up?" One of the students taunted. But Natsu didn't even pay him any mind. Standing from the table he walked off down the cafe. The students now behind him continuing with their annoying laughter. "Look he's gonna try to get her back!" Another shouted as they all laughed. Letting out a sigh the pink haired male arched his eyebrows walking out into the hallway. "Obnoxious." He muttered to himself.

Turning the corner he was met yet again with the sight of her as she continued down the hallway. Sliding his hands into his pockets Natsu followed after her, just a few feet away as she made it to a locker. frustratedly kicking at the metal door as she shouted in anger. Waiting a moment for her to stop he tilted his head slightly, his eyes scanning her. "My name is Natsu.." He began. "They weren't laughing at you. They where making fun of me. If anything I was the one giving you the negative attention." He explained. "You see here you really shouldn't sit with a guy like me."

Hopefully she wouldn't blame herself for this. The blame was all his. She had no idea of how they really saw him. If she did she would probably know she was better off not even looking at him. She was new and she might have just ruined her chances of being popular by even being seen with him. But who expected her to know that. "Did you burn yourself?.. When you put out the fire?" He curiously asked looking her over.

Addie kept her back turned to him as he talked to her, crossing her arms across her chest and turning her head so her tear stained cheek rested against her shoulder. "Only a little....Natsu..." she whispered, feeling his name roll past her lips, the skin on her fingers burning. Turning slowly to face him, she quickly wipes the tears from her cheeks so he won't see."How do you not know who I am?" she said, her eyes glazed with confusion as she looks at him, shifting uncomfortably, her leg still shooting with pain. "Don't you watch the news? I'm the girl who killed her mom and her brother. It's why I'm here, because I don't know how to control my powers, and I'm dangerous. I'm a murderer, and everyone knows that." She could feel her eyes filling with tears again, her cheeks burning red hot as her gaze falls to her feet. She understood why he blamed himself for how the kids acted towards them, and she believed that maybe some of it was because of him, but she knew she was what they were looking at.
So there it was, the one thing she had hoped wouldn't haunt her, and here she was bringing it up, talking about it to someone she actually had a chance of friendship with. She was good at ruining things that would make her happy. Coughing quietly, she turns to her locker, opening the lock and pulling all of her belongings out, shoving them into her backpack. Glancing over at him, she asks "I'm leaving for the rest of the day....do you want to go somewhere?" Slinging her bag over her shoulder, she slams her locker shut, facing him with a small smile on her lips. "I know a pretty cool place we could go where no one will bother the town freaks."

Hearing his name in her voice was really strange. No one at school used his name, they all called him by nicknames. He raised an eyebrow at her question. Who she was? He could have been asking the same question. "Didn't she just get here? Theres no way she could have made a name for herself in one day." But it seemed like Natsu's assumption was wrong. The girl who killed her mother and brother.. He had never seen her, not until today. Watching as she turned the dragon took a small step back, only one foot, his head tilting slightly.

His dim eyes slowly traveled over her as she spoke about being a dangerous murderer, but the emotionless expression he had plastered on his face never changed. She was crying.. There where tears staining her now slightly flushed face, her bright blue eyes glistened as she glanced down. She was hiding, timid and lonely. Almost like him.

Then she turned away, grabbing her belongings out of the rusted school locker. Straightening his posture slightly as she looked back at him the pink haired male was taken a back by her question. "Hold on what?" Was she really asking him that? She wanted to skip school with him? Then she smiled. A kind and warm smile, which was strange to him. "The town freaks?.." He muttered quietly to himself. Sliding his hands into his pockets the pointed eared dragon nodded. "As an answer to your question, I don't watch the news. But yes I'd like to join you."
