- Because life happened and we never got around to setting this up when the original topic was hot stuff. Still. It's here now and only lightly splattered with my nonsensical, unrelated babble!
So we've been talking randomly for a while, just in short little snippets, about bringing an idea by Ba Mirari to light in a future event. Maybe the 6 month anniversary? Or maybe as a fun start to the summer? Everyone is more likely to be active then. At some point in the future, basically. Regardless of the timeline, we'd like to hear your thoughts on which plot you'd prefer to see**. If there's something else that would catch your interest, feel free to mention it! The only people who bite here are Junior and Senior, after all. (Although, honestly, neither will bite unless provoked. They're fairly reasonable sharks. Not unlike Bruce and his shark support group.)
Other things we might need help with are how to incorporate the dice roll (if desired) and the mascots. Perhaps it would be easier to make this a pre-Kingdom sort of thing? A prequel of sorts, if that makes sense. So no King Machia, Queen Owlatte, or Prince Cereal, but perhaps some NPCs specific to this storyline. (There could always be another guild contest to help choose those NPCs.)

Plot 1:
Sycamorte trees suddenly began to grow around the world. At first they were considered a beautiful mystery until they reached maturation and started to secrete a toxin that altered the local wildlife into a new species called kindred. Due to the Syca's toxicity though, the kin are aggressive and territorial and--almost overnight--whole towns are destroyed or taken over by the creatures.
A few towns manage to fend off their local kins from taking over but are essentially isolated from other towns and held besieged by the large populations of kin outside their own town limits. Gifted individuals are somehow able to tame a few of the kin and this allows them to venture outside their towns to gather supplies. And, for those brave enough to dare....to destroy the sycamorte trees scattered around their region and gain back their old way of life.

Some sort of RP where we are the kins themselves would be pretty neat maybe instead of being humans who own kins like pokemon. Like maybe do one that is kind of like the first plot but instead have it be like kins already existed in the world and when the sycamortes started growing and releasing their poisons, it corrupted the kin. Then there would be a group of non-corrupted kin who resist the evil ones and try to either cure them or fight them off.
(This would probably be a good way to incorporate the Kingdom. I.e., maybe King Machia is one of these non-corrupted kin and he's trying to band together likewise non-corrupted kin to "heal" the corrupt kin. This could be what ultimately makes him King.)
Plot 2:
Everyone's day to day life revolves around the use of kin. Very slice of life (like Harvest Moon RPs) where there are kin trainers and Team Not-a-Rocket-Ripoff. The plot is going to be mostly player generated and relationship based.
**Other role-plays would be more than welcome in this forum, too! This would not be the only role-play we'd have. They don't all have to be Kingdom-related, either. Private role-plays and the like could be posted. This would just be something fun to use to build our Kingdom's history and to give the new forum a grand entrance.

Beyond that, what are your ideas for the name of the forum?
Right now, the RP forum-to-be is titled "Vacant." While intriguing, it's not really a helpful title. We need something with oomph and pizzazz. (Yes, both.) Off the top of my head, Filigris' Parlor? Maybe Thea's Library? (That might be too similar to Owlatte's Archive.) Cria's Scroll Room? Cereal's Bookshelf?
