The beach shone with a deep golden light, sparkling off glistening wet sand. The ocean lapped lazily, blue and gold and almost bath warm from the long hot summer. A faint breeze stirred the shore grass, and flapped a hastily scrawled banner.

"SINGLE MINGLE @ The BEACH"
It proclaimed in bold red paint that looked as though it might not have dried fully before being hung.
An arrangement of coolers laden with various alcoholic beverages were strewn around, along with haphazard towels and a beach ball or two. Tiki torches lent a festive glow, and catchy summer classics were already drifting from a radio somewhere close by.

Never one to miss a golden opportunity, Toby decided it was time to make a move. He was quick to recognize the perfect storm of overly hormone-laden air of late combined with the absolutely PERFECT summer weather they were having this year. Time for a PARTY! He and his rowdy cohorts were sure to get lucky, how could they fail? Every pretty girl around seemed to have one thing in mind lately... bundles!
Well, he was not so keen on squalling offspring, to be sure, but he was definitely on board to lend the ladies a helping hoof...or something else... anyway....

Glowing green eyes stared at the peculiar sign, squinting at the dripped letters in the moonlight. Curious, she walked on, her black claws digging into the sand with each apprehensive step. Midori watched the tiki torches glow, the dancing flames seeming to calm any misgivings she may have had about the venue. Hey, she thought to herself, maybe it'll even be... Fun wasn't the right word, so she stared at a flame for another moment until it came to her. Tolerable.

She sighed at her pessimistic attitude and headed straight to one of the coolers to see what was available. Hopefully these weren't anyone's in particular. She gently pawed through one, the ice wetting the fluff on her front feet as she searched. After not getting questioned for her actions, her courage grew and she searched more vigorously. Everyone knew the good stuff was at the bottom, after all.

A brown pinto-spotted winiko burst from the shore grass. He ran a circle around the fawn colored party host spraying him with sand. "Hey, bro!" Travis greeted his sibling with a big smile and a wink.

Travis took a gander over the spread of goodies. "Throwing a party and you didn't give me a heads up?" Travis didn't really expect an announcement from his brother about his party plans. He and his brother were on the same wave-length. If Toby was doing something to attract girls, Travis would know about it even if Toby was trying to keep it a secret.

Travis sauntered over to a cooler and pulled out a brew. "Planning on keeping all the girls for yourself?"

"Ahhh- HEY!" Toby dodged away from the sand spray as best he could, laughing bemusedly. Giving a great shake of his mane and body, he grinned rakishly at Travis. His partner in crime had arrived! Toby had known he would, it was just a thing with them. They always knew.

"BAH yeah right, it's just getting started now that you FINALLY got here!" He responded back dramatically, as if he had been waiting all night, when really he had just barely finished preparations.
"It was a really...REALLY impromptu idea! It just hit me ya know, that this would totally be a good time to score us some tail you know what I mean." He laughed again, nudging his brother companionably in the ribs as he joined him at the cooler for his own drink. Though come to think of it, he wasn't all too sure if it would be a good thing to have his brother here. Would they be each other's awesome wingmen, or their worst competition? He shrugged it off though, bros before hos right...? Or something.

"I can only keep them all to myself if they don't see YOU first!" He declared, using a claw to flick the lid off his drink at Travis as he eyed the demons arriving.

Indigo strolled casually onto the beach with a reserved air. He was sure he'd be seen as a stranger even though he'd been around for eons. Having matured in mind and body since the great war, he still felt a little unsure of himself.

He looked around, not seeing any familiar faces yet. Well, if he didn't find any old friends, maybe he could make some new ones. He eyed the two males jostling each other. He wasn't ready for displaying any male bravado just yet.

A female, with an enticing green glow about her, was digging through a cooler of drinks.

"Find anything good down there?"

Midori was startled by the sudden voice, and hastily emerged from the cooler with a bottled green concoction in her claws. How fitting, she thought. She hoped it was strong. What's a demon party without a little bit of unsanctioned fun, after all?

She looked around somewhat uneasily. She hadn't even noticed the other two males hassling each other, let alone the one who'd managed to sneak up behind her. "Well, I'm not sure yet, but there's only one way to find out." She gave a devilish grin as she used a claw to cut the top off of the bottle and upended it. It had been days beyond counting since she'd actually interacted someone - she'd managed to miss the great war completely just by being an unknowing hermit.

The drink wasn't as strong as she'd hoped, but already it began to work on her empty stomach. The pleasant aftertaste of melons lingered for a few moments, and she quickly retreated to the cooler for another drink. "What's your poison," she asked, not even thinking about the fact that she'd yet to even make eye contact with her unexpected companion. Socially awkward was probably an understatement for her current encounter.

"Come on, Ama! Let's go! We're missing all the fun!"

The butterfly-winged Wini bound towards the beach before pausing to look back at her friend. An extra-floofy chick familiar followed her, seeming to look about for some place to ride out the party. Maybe underneath a snack table or something. Yeah, that could work. Suleta's attention was instead drawn to the few demons already milling about. Looks like things were just getting started then. They'd have a chance to scope things out and be here as any other new Wini arrived. Or if any shenanigans went down. Excellent!

She was always down for some shenanigans.

Pausing to toss her mane and make sure her fur was smoothed and her wings properly fanned, she cast a look back at her friend. "So, princess...think you'll be able to let your hair down for a night?" She giggled to show she was only teasing, then her gaze halted on a pair squabbling in the distance. "Oooo, Ama! Check out those cuties over there! See? This party may not be so bad after all! Aren't you glad I dragged you out tonight?"

Following behind the butterfly Wini at a more regular pace, Amalya surveyed the party with an appraising eye. A tiny puppy followed at her side, trying to look stern and fierce...and not get distracted by any tasty food. Or drinks. Or other small animals. Amalya rolled her eyes good-naturedly at her friend's antics, seeming nonplussed. Honestly, it hadn't taken much 'convincing' on Suleta's part to get her to come out to the beach tonight. Sure, she tried to keep up a somewhat dignified air, being royalty and whatnot. There were standards to keep in mind.

That didn't stop her from wanting to escape from all that once in a while. The temptation was strong; she normally just didn't give in, but...

"Sule, darling. If I let my hair down, I think half these Winis would drown in it," she shot back with a sly smile and a lifted brow. "Now stop acting so eager. Let me show you how it's done. Follow my lead."

Adopting a confident swagger, Amalya set her path to pass by the two brothers on the way to one of the drink coolers. She batted her eyes, tilting her head so that the golden light made her hair shine. "Good evening, gentlemen," she purred with a passing nod, then calmly continued on her way to the cooler. With a delicate flip of her claw, the lid fell back exposing the treasures within. She began to look over the contents, not yet reaching in to wet her paws looking for a drink.

“I can’t help it if I’m better looking than you.” Travis raised his beer bottle in a salute to his brother and grinned wickedly at him. “Though your fair locks have been known to turn a pretty head away from me.”

‘Who got the girl’ was never a real competition between the brothers. It was more of a game. They would take turns turning on the charm to see who could steal who’s girl. There was one saucy number, Travis remembered, who was either clueless or secretly liked the game. She would fall under the spell of one brother, then the other, then back again. Travis wondered whatever became of her.

Travis’ blue eyes followed his brother’s gaze and speculated on what new prize was going to fall into their game this time.

And speaking of dishes, there appeared to be two newcomers to the party that were venturing their way.

"Oh sorry, didn't mean to startle you," He stepped back a bit to give her some space. "This mingling thing is a bit new to me." Before his words finished coming out of his mouth, he thought, Well, that was a lame thing to say. She probably thinks I'm some sort of hermit stalker now.

Indigo had hoped his knack for being annoying had faded with his childhood. Maybe not. Then again... This green glowing female hadn't yet told him to go away. In fact, she'd asked what he liked to drink. He really had no idea, but he needed to say something that didn't sound like he'd had his head in the sand for the past millennium.

"What you're drinking looks good," he replied. "I'll have one of those."

The female demon offered a deep chuckle to her current companion's obvious lack of tact. Well, she thought rather miserably as she continued to venture through the cooler, at least we've got something in common. Midori gave him a small smile. "Yeah, me too, I guess. It's been yeeeeears." She downed another drink, hoping it would give her courage before digging out another.

She offered the green bottle to the male in front of her, half-heartedly looking him over. Well he's not so bad, she supposed, especially not for your first time 'round. She laughed awkwardly at nothing before clearing her throat. "I... Uh. I'm sorry, I don't... Get out much? I guess? I really don't even know why I bothered coming here, everyone must think I'm so odd." She had no real reason to spill her guts out to this other demon, except for the fact that she'd already consumed two drinks, but it was kind of nice to have someone to talk to.

Saluting his brother back, Toby downed a good gulp of his beer. Setting up amazing beach parties was hard thirsty work for sure! The beer was cold, the tunes rocking, ladies were arriving... he congratulated himself with another gulp.

"Oh YEAH, wel- " He was stopped mid snarky comeback when he caught an eye full of the ladies that had clearly already caught Travis' eye. WOWZA! And they were coming over! He had been too wrapped up in his drink, gloating, and bickering. Be cool be cool, he thought, eyeing the long haired goddess as she walked by them like a shining demon super model.

Toby was instantly hooked, it took an act of willpower not to lose his wits and follow like a lost puppy. He shook himself, turned back to his brother and mouthed "DIBS" with a wicked grin of his own and tossed his half drank beer into the beach grass. Time for another drink! He sauntered up to the cooler, as casual as he could manage.

"Good evening is right." He said as he approached the girls, eyes lingering appreciatively on the choice scenery. "I dunno about gentlemen though...I mean did you SEE that riffraff I was standing with??" He added jokingly and gave his most innocent up-to-no-good grin.

Indigo was relieved that she hadn't made some excuse and walked away. "Thank you," he said as he accepted the proffered bottle. "My name is Indigo, by the way."

He popped the top off the green bottle. The chattiness of his impromptu bartender indicated that she had an imbibing head-start on him. Not that he was counting, but if it relaxed her, it might do the same for him.

"Yea, not sure what drew me out tonight either." Indigo took another swig. "But it appears to be a nice party to have ventured out for," he said as he swept a paw to encompass the beach setting.

Travis nonchalantly took another swig of his beer. There was no need to waste a beer like his brother. The girls were already sauntering their way, there was no need to run to meet them. Besides, he liked it when the girls came to him.

Travis raised his beer in salute at Toby's comment. He didn't mind playing the bad to Toby's good. He was curious to see the 'princess's reaction to Toby. The long-haired beauty had an obvious 'royal' air about her. It remained to be seen whether if she was real or just a 'princess wannabe', Travis knew from experience that a frosty do-gooder exterior often had a hot wild tiger just itching to get out.

Travis smiled and winked at the butterfly-winged beauty strolling with the princess'. He wondered if Toby was going try to engage both of them in conversation, or if he was just besotted with the golden-hair girly.

Oh great, she thought, I forgot about introductions. Feeling rather beaten in her slightly buzzed state, she cleared her throat. "Right. My name's Midori. Sorry." Sorry? Why did you apologize? She tried her best not to roll her glowing green eyes at herself.

She considered getting another drink when she saw him open his, but perhaps she was making enough of a fool of herself as it was. Instead, she closed the cooler and shifted her weight uncomfortably.

"Uh... Yeah, I guess it isn't terrible." Midori laughed awkwardly at this. In reality, she hated the beach. She much preferred the feeling of soft, green grass beneath her feet than sand. Less messy, and easier to navigate through. But alas, she was sure it'd be rude to say such. She had come out, after all.

Amalya's gaze turned from the cooler towards the voice and she hid her glee with a subtle bat of her eyelashes and a faux-shocked expression. "Oh? Goodness, I hadn't realized!" She glanced towards the other male Wini for a moment, then lowered her voice in a conspiratory manner. "Is he some sort of dangerous scoundrel? By the stars, I'm so thankful that you warned me, kind sir. It's fortunate for me that a gentleman such as yourself would intercede on my part. You have my gratitude." Amalya graciously bowed her head before smiling back. "I am somewhat new to all of this. Perhaps my savior could offer some advice and guidance to keep me from getting into too much trouble?" She knew that look and that smile. There was plenty of trouble to be had here. But maybe it wasn't TOO much, right?

That's what made it exciting and so much fun.

"Pray, kind sir; what is your name? A princess must know what to call her knight. As for myself," she held out a paw in greeting, flashing Toby a warm smile. "Amalya."

Suleta did as asked, stepping back to watch and barely resisting shaking her head at what she saw. The strut, the casual, dismissive greeting, then disengaging to cross to one of the coolers as if uninterested. It was shocking enough to see one of the males follow after Amalya (Sule thought he mirrored her guard pup quite well and had to stifle a snicker), but the faux innocent act that followed? They couldn't seriously be buying thi--

They were totally buying this.

Huh. Maybe there was something to this after all.

Of course, she noted that Amalya was garnering all the attention as usual. Her plan might be facing a momentary backfire at convincing the princess to come along tonight in search of a good time. Looked like she was just fine on her own from the look of it. Guess she was on her own then if she was gonna find her own entertainment.

It seemed only one of the...were those two brothers? They certainly looked like they could be. And sorta' acted like it. Either way, it seemed only one of them was going to directly engage Amalya, leaving the darker, quieter one free. Perfect. Catching the wink he aimed in her direction, she noted that she could play this game too and responded with one of her own. She dropped back, leaving the other pair at the cooler and took a seat near the other male, fluttering her wings before folding them delicately against her back. With a smirk, she turned her cool eyes on Travis. "My my, 'riffraff', eh? That's not very kind. I suppose I'd be looking for trouble just sticking around here then, wouldn't I?"
